Isn't the 6th also engulfing and showing a reversal from a lower maximum (kind of the second shoulder)?
I stopped trying to memorize candle patterns pretty fast, for the same reason as you outline, they all show a shift in market pressure from buying to selling or selling to buying, wicks and momentum shifts are what you need to notice, not so much a specific pattern. But far more important than a pattern is context. Market structure, price action, combined with patterns - thats where we start finding confluence
I've really been enjoying some binge watching your videos :) A question I have is when you go to the 15 min chart to mark support and resistance zones, do you use extended hours? I am assuming yes as I don't seem to see gaps on your charts but ... I know very little about futures.

Hey sorry for the confusion! I draw my support and resistance levels from a 15 minute chart then I do everything else on the smaller timeframe charts. Trendlines + trend analysis.
This is actually the best way to trade. A neat chart with just support/resistance areas and trend lines. none of those MA crosses or oscillator oversold/overbought nonsense since they are all lagging indicators. Determining support/resistance area by looking at higher timeframes, then waiting for the price to bounce or be rejected respectively and wait for the pullback/retest before entering. My question is, since most of your videos you show ~$500 gains, how much is your margin and leverage per trade to get those profits? TIA.

One thing that I would like to understand is what kind of trade options that experienced traders use when they identify an opportunity. At 5:57 for e.g., What kind of order do you place for the short sell? Market / bid ? Also if it was reversing into uptrend and you were going long, do you place a Market order or buy at the Ask? Am I wrong in assuming that limit orders when the price is moving fast is not the way the go?
Hello Riley. I need an experienced opinion on a strategy. I’ve been backtesting 0DTE option trades. I’ve tested the "In The Money" single contract with no stop bc it provides a defined risk or loss amount. I've tested getting the direction right and wrong to see the results. I’m good with the defined risk as my daily loss. I’m using SPY bc the expiring options are cheap to buy. I’m doing 1 contract in backtesting to keep my losses small if I call the direction wrong. My plan is to hold it like a day trade and sell prior to market close or stop out if I have the direction wrong. Have you seen this done and if so was it successful on a short or long term basis? I move my stop up like you do. My question to you would be how are we going to be 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 if we move our stop like that? I mean if you are going for 2 to1 we should really leave our take profit at the 2 to 1 . I have found a number of times I only come out 1 to 1 or less depending on how its moving. I like your way better. Just getting what profit I can get out of the market as long as I'm in the green.
I’m not Riley but as a trader with 30 yrs of experience I can answer your question. You calculate your profit ratio ( 3 to 1 for example) when you open your trade. Therefore you have a solid sell price that will give you that profit margin. Now, let’s say you move your stop loss up. Does that change your target price you were looking for? Not necessarily. Your 3 to 1 target is still the same price. All you have done is made your trade safer for you by raising the stop loss. Now I have to say one thing here. Your sell price depends on 2 things. 1. Price action 2. Price action Yes you read that right. All sell decisions depend on what you think the price action is telling you. You may choose to do one of 3 things at the end of a trade. 1. Sell below your target because price action is turning against your trade. 2. Or, you sell at your predetermined sell price regardless if the price action is still moving up. 3. Or, you move your stop loss up again and stay in the trade above your original predetermined sell price (remember our 3 to 1 goal? Sometimes the price action allows us to stretch it a little)
Riley could you also show us what leverage you are using on trades and some advice what to look at with for example fees on each profit trade? Thanks for your work anyway 🍻😁
I am pretty new to trading futures which I have been studying for about 6 months. My first day's where not so good (I lost quite a bit of money) but for some reason my account got switched to auto liquidate mode on Ninjatrader (I'm guessing it was done by my broker because I can't do anything about it). I was just wondering if anyone knows what it is or how to fix it because with it I cannot trade at all.

He's going in with a Market Order, one can see that clearly. And yes, your assumption is the norm.
