With the new design, he/she could be the fox if you somehow remade it. That's the point of the new design, the blank canvas like the rest of the crew and not being too specific.
I like the first design with the fox or quad because I think both are pretty cool but I see the fact it doesn’t stick to the sackboy plush kind of design in the first place (I’m referring to the fox design other one I might see why they changed it)

i think oddsock's design was changed to a simpler form specifically to allow for more creative freedom you see, the first quad design resembles an actual thing too much, while oddsock is just this tube with four legs, which lets creators play around with adding stuff like ears, claws, wings, or anything else they'd like
"love" is a strong word. I don't "love" anything about LBO3. I like some aspects, Oddsock being one of them, but love is a stretch. Layer bounce pads would have been great in LBP2.
