I own both Coriolis and Blade Runner. Played both and like both. Mostly play them at conventions but I have also taken the Icons as my simple pantheon for a home brew campaign based off the Rifts Earth setting.
Free League is just a top notch company. Production values are always stellar. Tales from the Loop is such a great introductory game. 80’s setting, streamlined easy rules and beautiful art which twists the setting just a bit.
I have read the starter for Dragons Bane and the core book for Vaesen. I have yet to play them. The books I have read are well put together. The rules seem easy enough to get beginners playing. I am an artwork snob so I will probably collect Vaesen and Dragons bane just for the artwork alone.
Glad you are covering this one! I love the thematic elements of the game world. Middle East has good aesthetics even if the "religion of peace" is a bit sus. edit: We played a year campaign of Symbaroum. Great world too!. Pretty brutal combat, I wish it had a couple more books that fleshed some of it out, but otherwise super fun.
QotV: I have the Alien RPG Starter Set, which includes a "cinematic" adventure (plays out much like one of the movies). The production quality on everything is really top notch, and in the kit there's everything you need and nothing extraneous. Highly recommend this for anyone curious about Free League, scifi and/or horror RPGs, or especially Alien-themed games.
Of their products, Vaesen is the one I've bought the most from. After that, I have some Forbidden Lands and a bit of Mutant Year Zero. Have yet to run them due to still hashing out plans and the players I know who I think would do well with such systems having conflicting schedules. But I plan to at some point.
Free league several games the intrigue me. The two that most interest me are Dragonbane and Vaesen. Both have a very interesting flavor to them. In addition from what I have seen Free League provides probably more value to their products than any other publisher.
Quick point of clarification, the new version of Coriolis technically occurs AFTER the the Mercy of the Icons campaign timeline, so if you want to run this campaign, you should get the first edition. But it's really a game everyone should get regardless. As for your question...I own just about every single Free League game (except for the Tales from the Loop line). They are, hands-down, my favorite TTRPG publisher. I know you don't do fantasy, but Forbidden Lands and Dragonbane are seriously top-tier, but Coriolis is a must play, in my opinion. I've not run Mercy of the Icons (I had seriously intended to, but my players zigged instead of zagged, but we still had one of the most memorable campaigns to date), but hope to, some day. I think one of my favorite things about the Free League games is how they work equally well with TotM or Battlemaps. And all of their books are absolutely gorgeous.
I've only played Alien, and I grabbed the Vaesen core book when they gave it away a while back, but haven't played it. Coriolis definitely piques my interest -- Dune universe vibes, but I may be off base.

I haven't tried any Free League games yet, but the Alien RPG interests me the most. Mutant Year Zero and Coriolis are pretty close as well.

I mean, I'm saying it in the most respectable way possible. You look like Joe Gardner from Soul
