Sean came out in his press conference and said the 2nd INT was his fault. He said it was a bad playcall. Idk if I’ve ever seen Sean take blame like that, very awesome to see how open he can be on that

Sean is not nearly as arrogant as everyone thinks he is. He'll admit when hes wrong, and he had a right to be acting the way he was when he drafted Bo. He proves the haters wrong continually.

He was protecting his rookie QB. Sure, it wasn't a great playcall, but it was also a badly thrown ball with too much air under it.

The thing I like about Nix is his ability to avoid sacks and turnovers. Yeah, he had 2 yesterday but the one where Ward deflected it was just a great play. Nix is just a rookie but he's going to get better. Can't wait to ser his continued growth under Sean.

Bo played better than the stats . He was super aggressive which is what we as fans have wanted for a long time. But being aggressive will come with some ints. The turnovers are easier to stomach with the win.he also made some really good throws. Have to be excited for what you see and have in the rookie! Defense made plays when they had too. Tells you just how good Moss is. I have been waiting for McLaughlin to get some carries, the only RB to actually break tackles and he is not big. He sees the hole where Williams misses holes and anticipates being tackled. Estime is a little like Williams but might run harder. Also, McMillian has had a good year! We don't see a lot of passes his way. I don't think he has struggled at all.

I was surprised that on the "deep post no grade" that started around the 8:12 mark you didn't mention that Franklin kind of gave up on the route, slowed down, and ended up spinning himself around, or what looked like a slight overthrow and got a "no grade" might've dropped perfectly in the bucket, and been a potential house call.

No illegal man down the field on screens caught behind LOS is onyl a rule in NCAA.
The thing here is that the NFL rule is that they have to have at least a part of their body within 1 yard of the LOS, which they all seem to have.
Aditionally, rule doesn't apply if you get downfield doing a continuous block, which at the time of the pass all were still engaged.

Long comment. TLDR: Love the channel, learning a lot, need to get over to Patreon, Go Broncos.
A few things I think I think after 13 weeks of watching Broncos football and these breakdowns (naked eye observations, not analytics driven) . . .
    1. Really loving the learning here. One of the things I have enjoyed is beginning to understand the ways plays are designed to attack several specific defenses, even splitting the field in half so that one side of the formation might be your man side, and the other might be the zone side, etc. As Sean puts it, knowing the intent of the play, not just its design. You can see how Bo may have known the plays early in the season, but maybe Seattle and Pittsburgh were disguising things well, and it was hard to know how to execute the intent of the play. That is clearly changing. Now, as a rookie, he is making it look easy, which is a little scary.
    2. One thing I have noticed is that there hasn't been a ton of chatter about Bo Nix's under-center work. It frankly looked disastrous to start the year, then it disappeared almost entirely for many weeks. Maybe 5 or 6 games ago, it began resurfacing. More and more, that seems to be helping the play action / turn-your-back-to-the-defense stuff to be more effective, even when the run game has been spotty. Fun to see this kind of development AND to see it positively impact the offense as a result.
    3. A non-analytical observation I think may bear out--all year long it seems that in third down (and particularly in third-and-short) situations we have taken deep shots way beyond the sticks. I imagine Bo has made a few poor decisions in this particular respect, but I know defenses have to take notice, and Sean will find ways to take advantage. I am betting there will be some easy short conversions in high-leverage situations down the stretch where the D is playing run and giving a little cushion against the risk of a deep route.
    4. Bo seems to have answered the bell with so many tests. One that stands out for me is his play against pressure. Once he settled in and became one of the top passers in the league with clean pockets, teams realized they can't let him sit back and pick them apart. Bo needed reps against pressure to work through that. Las Vegas and Cleveland seemed to throw the kitchen sink at Bo in terms of pressures and disguises. He certainly struggled some, but he keeps finding ways to get through the evolution of defensive attempts to find and exploit his weaknesses. The fact that the tape is growing on him but he continues to improve says a lot about the QB we're going to have long-term.
    5. Protection. I don't know how this team got so good at protection so fast. Strief??? I haven't seen the Broncos line and backs and TEs as coordinated as this since forever. Maybe the 90s. They still seem to whiff occasionally, which is probably inevitable, but they appear to be getting so much better at handling all the pressure looks. Gone are the recent days where putting a couple linebackers in the A gap would cause us to panic and allow free runners inside. And Bo's been a magician with edge pressure.
Let's crush Indy and hunt some Chargers.

Just keeps getting better. Thanks as always for the great content.
What I don't get is I heard one of the talking heads the other day comment that 'Maybe this is his ceiling, but that's ok, because he's playing pretty well.'
How can you look at a guy who has done nothing but improve over the first 13 weeks of his career and come away thinking... 'well maybe he's peaked'? Even if it's meant as a backhanded compliment 'so what if he's peaked'.... Drew Brees says it takes 3 years to learn Payton's system.... I'm going to bet we haven't seen the best yet.

I feel like anyone that paid attention to the game would know the first pick was a ricochet off Franklin's chest and the second pick was a one on one deep shot where Mimms slowed up on his route right as Bo let it rip, giving Ward(?) the advantage in positioning. He probably still should have thrown it away, but the young receivers have been doing this kind of thing all year where they let up early thinking they aren't going to get a target. I think you mentioned it a few weeks ago about Sutton finding his legs, but I think it's moreso him realizing he's a valid target on every pass play with Bo back there. His worst throw/decision was easily that cross body deep cross pass to Sutton, ranking about an 8 on the 1 to putting Levi Wallace in Coverage scale of bad decisions.
