Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia
Awareness ! Totally important these gestures You mention here. When we do not get any kind of loving touch from anyone it hurts. Just seeing each other as the same as one self can make us understand. In 2021 our western societies have become so focused on consumerism, that I sometimes See robots Running around. But we are not ! Stay well⚘⚘⚘
@@LongStar117 Thank You so much. It warns my heart to read those words. I am without friends and 69,5' now. "You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be kind" that hit me on a deeper level than expected ❤ Thank you for bringing light to this troubled world
"remember that you have to spend your whole life with yourself and to be a good companion you don't have to be perfect you just have to be kind" Thank you
You say so much in such a short time. Love, love, love this message!!! You do not hear this kind so much. I had finally come to a realization a while back, that i was pretty angry deep down. People would say how nice and sweet i was, but at my core i was so agitated and angry. I came to see that there was so many injustices and unsettling things going on in my world, the person i was upset with the most was me. I have always been pretty good at forgiving others, having empathy and compassion, but it was a different story concerning myself.I am definitely getting better in this area though thankfully. I really needed to hear this message today. Your eyes are so full of compassion that they bring mine to tears. You are such a wonderful blessing.
My new students all "beat themselves up" at first when they make a mistake. Sometimes they vocalize this and hit themselves on the head. I stop them and this process of self-hate and tell them that if it were someone else who had come into the room to yell at them, I'd throw them out, that they shouldn't judge themselves hurtfully. Before I discuss with them ideas about how to behave after a mistake, I encourage them first to apologize to themselves for having thought badly of themselves. "You know that you're not stupid and it's hurtful to call yourself these names." Your sentence, "Remember that you have to spend your whole life with yourself, so make yourself a good companion..." is wonderful advice.
This a great reminder. Thank you for this. It's so easy to feel crushed by the weight of self criticism. When we are harsh on ourselves it tends to project outwards to others. If we were all a little kinder to ourselves we would no doubt be kinder to the outside world.
So profound yet simple at its core. Love all that is, including ourselves. Just be kind to the universe and it will be kind to you. In the end, it's sll the same. 💞
Self compassion is about honoring the promises you make to yourself. Being impeccable with your word and following through with what you say. It’s difficult to have self respect when you keep lying to yourself ✌🏽
Wow, that's well worded, but also a bit intense. I hope there is room for some 'failure' in your definition, since sometimes we don't do everything we set out to do. Life happens and mistakes are made.
its scary how much i needed to hear this at this moment...and at the same time tellling myself i need to be stronger then this...the thing is that...what i am trying to attempt and do...is not for myself.....and for me its about knowing i am doing the right thing ,without having doubt in myself and my "beliefs" is the hardest part for me with the sense of resposiblity that comes allong with it, ( i WANT that responsibility, and at the same time thinking i am not worthy)...its just the unknown about whats is trully right what is breaking me...the solutions i wanne fiend and wanne provide....that i feel i need to fiend... and how to approach this whole thing...(the knowlegde) in the correct way is the most diffucult also
Just letting u know that your videos are very important 2 me and I believe for lots of people ! I joke with few friends saying that u are my guru and when I grow up I wanna to be like u! ❣️ Keep going blessin our lives
Thanks for another great video and thanks so much for sharing. I've learned that if a person expects to be perfect, they expect everyone else to be. The harder we are on ourselves, the harder we are on others. It is good to practice self love. If you don't love yourself, then, who will and how can you love others. This was one hard lesson in my life and it didn't happen overnight. It took me a long time to get it right, it's not perfect by any means but, at least I'm more understanding and more compassionate towards others. 🕯️❤️✌️
Something that everyone reading my comment, should download and keep it for sos! Hear it again and again till you are no more triggered by act of self or others! And then hear it more. Beautiful message! Thanks Nada👍🏼💙
Amazing how this happens, because self-compassion is a subject that's been on my mind a lot recently. It's something I only really learnt the value of when I was going through a really painful, difficult time in my life, and I don't think I'd have made it out the other side if I hadn't been able to have compassion for myself.
Watching these videos reminds me of the importance of taking care of ourselves. This inspires me to create videos on self growth as well. Thank you for posting this important reminder!
There's a tendency to demonize or repress aspects of ourselves that we do not deem acceptable or good, but the reality is that as humans, every characteristic and trait, whether it be positive or negative comes in a complete package so it's important that we accept that and as a result, we'll be able to do a lot more for ourselves and for others.
Wow! Thank you! I have compassion for others, I honestly never thought about having compassion for myself. You opened my eyes to see and understand. You explained things so clearly!
Thank you very much, right on time😊 I have been doing a bunch of work on sacral chakra healing bc of the energies that are affecting me during this lunar eclipse week. Self compassion is a huge part of what I have been lacking in my life up to now, with a huge pull from my need to take care of everyone else! Your video helped me remember to be kind to myself today... Thanks✌️
Hah. I was actually thinking about this topic yesterday, since I've concluded I can use more self compassion. This information comes at a good time for me. Thanks :)
As you get older you'll start beating yourself up about the past. You'll lay in bed at night going over events feeling ashamed, embarrassed, stupid, foolish, angry. I've read its actually the brain is geared. You harshly remember the bad things far more than the good. It dawned on me to stop tormenting myself like that when going through a painful memory. -wait a minute, I was only 7 years old when that happened. WTF?! Here I am feeling rotten about something a 7 year old version of myself did. I've taught myself a habit of when I'm mulling over the past, if negative feelings start to spring up, I tell myself 'never feel badly about the past. It's making the now bad.' Like you said, compassion for yourself. Sometimes I think this world is made for psychopaths and sociopaths. Such things wouldn't bother them for a minute as they waltz through life being successful because they have no problem being ruthless.
Yes I believe you're correct; this world is designed, created and controlled by psychopaths & sociopaths. Thanks to our role as co-dependents, it is maintained as such :-(
OK chief.. Im gonna say it how I see it.. Or rather how I felt it. That was beautiful in its simplicity. I was moved. Thank you. Honest.. I wish you could read the news. I'd consider buying a TV license if you did. Kindness.. Yeah.. I'm on board with that one... Despite almost all I come across not knowing how to reciprocate.. Keep doing what your doing becuase youre doing it well. Pete oh yeah.
Nada, What can you tell a person who is stuck in an unhappy marriage? How can a person survive in such a situation when they are so full of hate and resentment toward their spouse? Also, they fear what that hatred will do to them. It's scary. But they can't leave the spouse because of pressure in the community to stay together, also so the kids can find good spouses. Any insight you can provide on this topic would be greatly appreciated, especially when the partner has experienced gaslighting and emotional abuse and greatly dislikes their partner, but is not free to leave. Thanks!
How do you practice self-compassion in our daily life? How do you make this a habit? This is an area where I truly struggle. Thank you. Your videos are always timely.
Sometimes loving yourself is the hardest thing to do, because you know all your mistakes and failures. But you are human and these are things everyone does . Well almost everyone. Like John Legend says l love you for all your perfect imperfections. Self love is nessary for combat in a world of indifference prejudice, and hate. The world isn't perfect, so we are not either. So sail ahead, human.
I very much like the sentence “You don’t have to be perfect, you have to be kind.” But what actually does “perfect “mean? This depends on the definition of the word “perfect”. I guess most of the time “perfect” is seen as synonymous for average or what people expect from you. But actually being like everybody else in my eyes is not perfect. You can be a better person than anybody else without realising it because you think you are not perfect or different from others. Whoever is reading this should think about it. 😉
I feel this too sometimes. Hugs to you 💞 In my personal reflection I've realized these feelings are alleviated by practicing deep listening & presence with myself. Often those feelings arise when I'm not taking sufficient time to simply be with myself, to see & hear & witness my deepest self. Of course, those things can come from connections with others but that's never guaranteed. It's deeply fulfilling to grant yourself the things you wish to receive from others, whether it's validation, or just a compassionate listening ear.. 💞🙏

The most important step on the path of self compassion is being able to overcome addiction to guilt.
Thank you so much for saying this. I needed to hear it.
🤯
It’s confusing sometimes, I feel guilty for not feeling guilty
Wow! That really hit home for me. Thank you so much for commenting!

Much love. Such an important message. Rejection is the cause of all suffering. Rejection of self is perhaps the biggest cause of suffering.
