"True Fan" ;) Amazing to see how much you have accomplished on this boat remodel in a year - not too many people would have tackled this project. Always get a kick out of your videos :)
We've installed carpet first in our 2000 Bayliner Capri and used the existing carpet. If we didn't have it. We planned to use paper to make a paper template. Saves wrestling with the carpet. 10 years later installed vinyl. Used a paper template for it turned out great. Glad you got it done. Looks great
true fan... lol im starting on restoring my 1990 bayliner capri 5.0. hoping to have it all done by spring, if not sooner. your vids are great and super helpful. very detailed man. keep it up!
Hi Zack, True fan and you're vid's have been a great source of education, fun and entertainment through this covid mess. Another poster hit it on the nail ---> Make a template out of something - anything,, try butcher paper. Then transfer template to carpet and cut it to size. Keep at at it - Big Respect. Jack
@@ZachsGarage1 Thats what happened to me... finally got the boat in the water and everything else I wanna do to it got put at the bottom of the list... next videos might be on building a patio roof lol
For the ski locker door I used the old aluminum frame from the original door and just cut out a piece of plywood to size. I think I am going to build some new side panels
@@ZachsGarage1 Yeah my locker was missing. I'll have to find the vid if you made one of your install of it. You could not save the side panels? I love mine. I did find the same pleated vinyl used in the side panels in colors so i may change mine. I'm doing the bulk heads and floor now. Bulk heads are fun, not!. Using poster board to get the shape right on hull though makes a little easier. Also thinking of doing some trick lighting on side panels with neon string in seems of the vinyl like i did on a show car i used to have. And then some trick stereo of course lol.
@@ZachsGarage1 I have 1996 larson that I want to start a project on I bought it back in May but I have with it this summer n winterize it already. So my there are parts of my stringers rotted out but wonder if I can do do the middle stringers or I have to do the entire thing. Also I have issues with leaks around the gimbal but I used marine sealant n seal around it but I want to take it off n reseal it but I hope the transome ain't rotted out.
For the transom, if you want to get a better idea (without removing the engine and outdrive) you might be able to unscrew one of the stud bolts in the transom assembly and be able to check that bolt hole to see if the transom is mush. If part of the stringer is good, I think you should be able to leave it and splice with new stringer
Thanks!
I just got a project boat, This is the best video series out there for people rebuilding boats!
Thank you! glad you like it! :)

Good job on the drone intro, seen it a few time by now, doesn’t get old!👍
Thanks!
True fan 😎! For the next carpet adventure: use a role of plastic and make a mold of the floor. Saves a lot of manhandling 😉.
Really coming together now! Great work!

We put foam with a hex design with a wood colour. Non slip and comfortable and looks pretty cool on a swim platform
The carpet looks great!!! I am sticking with a non skid paint...I plan to have many fine fish bleed on my deck....
that's probably for the best! :)
Man, you're pumping out the videos, I gotta step my game up lol
Lol! I must serve the people! And finish my boat 😉 before the honeyDo list gets too big!

Hey brother what is the name of the type of flooring material you have on your boat
Just did the floor on my bayliner too, I found carpet at a place called boat carpet outlet for $150 measuring 6x20
I wish you wouldn't have replaced carpet. Nobody is doing that anymore. New synthetic, rubberized floorings are so much better.
Lol, True Fan.
You're awesome!
Zachs Garage except you have to have cushions for the back. I’m a sewer, maybe I can help in the winter.
Why did you go with carpet over some sort of EVA deck foam
Cost. Buying rolls of foam isn't too expensive but doesn't look as good as custom fabricated SeaDek
Im Going back with the striped deck matting. Are you putting your side panels back in?
I need a ski locker door can you tell me where you found yours?

Do you know how to fix small soft spots on boat deck? What product or penetration epoxy to inject the deck?
If a spot is soft the wood underneath the fiberglass may be rotted. To fix it you'll need to cut out the area and replace it
Zachs Garage thanks
Should have made a butcher paper pattern. Then laid it out on carpet.. vinyl flooring can be done the same way
Sooooo any more updates or are stuck with reruns to get our fix? 😂🤣😂
lol I might have bought a new toy

You should have used sea deck more than used carpet
I really wanted to get custom designed sea dek. I do actually like the removable carpet more than I thought I would though :)
