@Dana Morrell I have a recommendation for you , 3 songs to be played in a row with the same key and mood, 2 songs exactly same rhythm, then this song is a tad different Open 3 separate tabs and play in order to connect together giving 1 long vibe 1. Alone on the rope - by Noel Gallagher 2. St Petersburg - by Supergrass 3. The Suburbs - by Arcade Fire If you do it , you'll thank me after
This song is one of the most powerful ones I’ve heard… Noel often says that his lyrics don’t really mean anything, but my god the words here, directly alluding to suicidal thoughts and how to pull yourself out of it. Just. So. Incredible.
It's amazing that for all of his new stuff, the songs that catch my ear are the traditional sounding NG tunes!! That probably says more about me Ha Ha Ha
I don’t know about some of you, but this song was never really a favorite of mine. Until one day I listened to it at the right time in my life, and BOOM, I totally got it.
Just another Noel´s masterpiece! He plays in another league, a league not really for the masses, this happens when you´re lucky to be close to a genius mind, great composer, songwriter and better musician. An invitation to enjoy from our senses and disconnect from our conscious mind. Real pleasure and happy moments, no doubts about it!
cold winter evening, snowing, walking through city all alone after you lost your last hope. no people, only street lights and single cars. with this song in headphones. thanks for the memories and such a wonderful song.
I love Alone On A Rope. Haunting, powerful tune. It takes me down a dark place in my mind, and it makes me remember some really dark, crazy and weird times in my life.
Noel has recently surprised me with his HFB band. I'd expected it to be a secondary Oasis, but hell no... His change of direction was spot on. Great songs, like this one, Council Skies, Riverman, The Dying of the Light... Congrats man.
The production on this song is incredible, that’s Dave Stardy for you. I wish Noel would go back to working with him. So much better sounding than David Holmes.
It's very good (with the song being an absolute masterpiece) but I think I prefer the demo; slightly more raw and haunting th-cam.com/video/fYA32OjPHgI/w-d-xo.html
Jeez this song is so brilliant I can't even find the words to describe it properly. It's with me right now every day going through tough time, really the brilliance of Noel right here.
I got the album as birthday present, can't ask for best present. NOEL IS A GENIUS i follow him with he's band since 94 almost 30 years still magic evry time release a new album . For sure are unrated
If I’m forced to be stuck on a desert island for the rest of my life, and some holy force gave me the option to listen to one song whenever I wanted. It’d be this.
here we go I won't let your smile Get lost in the fall I won't let your dreams Run away in the dark Still recall the way you were And that look in your eyes Still recall the way you were And that look in your eyes Can't hear the sound A thought ringing in my ear I still feel the pain I carried with me for years Still recall the way you were And that look in your eyes Still recall the way you were And that look in your eyes You could leave when the walls fall down I can tell by the look in your eyes You're alone on the rope And if you can't find no hope Don't look down Don't look down You could leave when the wall falls down I can tell by the look in your eyes You're alone on the rope And if you can't find no hope Don't look down Don't look down teamo miamor
I wasn't ready for this feels trip... 😭 Noel's music always makes me open my wounds and find a way to heal from it. *"You're alone on the rope, and if you can't find no hope, don't look down..."* ❤
I always come to find myself claiming at least 10 of his songs are the greatest fuckin tune ever on that moment and seems like its one of those times once again. But man... isnt this breaking your heart in seconds?
I wish he would write more tunes like this on the newer album. So epic and timeless. The drums and piano and bassline are just ear candy....and that David Gilmour like voice comes in and you're like ..damn this is nice!!
In interviews Noel keeps going on about how he doesn't care the smallest about lyrics. But often his songs have pretty great lyrics, I don't know why he soft plays this part of his work.....
Some of his lyrics are pretty bad but then again when they really come from the heart they're amazing and I think he just doesn't want to acknowledge that so he is playing it down just to be sure😁
I think he means he just sort of lets the songs come up with their own lyrics, so to speak. He doesn't think deeply about what he's saying, he just says what feels good and fits with the music. Of course that also means that when he's writing an emotional song like this one, the lyrics will be equally emotional since I'm sure that's what he's feeling when he writes the music.
It was really awesome when Noel was experimenting with all these singles from 2018 to 2020ish. But I recently realized there were enough of them to create a playlist on Noel's LOST album, and by joining them together -- we fans could find them easier. I took two song titles and morphed them together to give this collection a title, THIS IS OUR WAY NOW. th-cam.com/play/PLD-1ImwqDECFv6oSkVn_B0u9F5453BiiY.html I liked the two dance tracks but frankly had trouble finding a place for them in his otherwise mellow album, so they kinda show up together in the middle as a little disco interlude. If you enjoy this, seek out my other playlist which re-imagines the song list and sequence of Noel's COUNCIL SKIES.
Some days this is the best song I've ever heard.
I hear you Dana 😎 great song

His 'slower' tunes like this and Dead in the Water have definitely been the highlights of his solo career for me
Sail on and riverman aren't bad. But agreed his ballads are beautiful
@@paolofenney2222gotta add If I Had A Gun..., A Dream Is All I Need To Get By and Dead To The World
I guess it happens to you just like me: I don’t recognize his voice to be hardcore for fast tunes. But slowly, deep, or introspective songs… man!!!!
@@IsGoNu Well Said.
Only Noel could be so arrogant yet so brilliant, he deserves all the attention, fucking genius...
Having a beer sat in the garden on good Friday listening to this wonderful wonderful song. Noel can sure write a good track man.

He’s the business - he’s inspired myself, a 50 year old English guy to buy a bass, synth, amp and other bits, to kill my musical frustrations 👍🏻❤️🤨🙃
This is one of my favourites by Noel. The sound is deep, sends you elsewhere for a moment.
Agreed, your mind proper wanders off when the verses are on
"I still feel the pain, I carried with me for years... Still recall the way you were and that look in your eyes" that phrase
Always listen to alone on a rope before bed time fooking amazing.

From 1996 on, since I first heard Oasis and then with HFB, I can say Noel plays the soudtrack of my life.
The soundtrack of my life is stop crying your heart out from heathen chemistry. I find comfort in this song when I play this song to sleep
Same here.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssss!
One of his best ever songs. Hauntingly beautiful.
This song has always been my favorite from Noel's solo career! It sounds like heaven.
Agreed.
That is exactly how it sounds!!!
Once again, NG with another class B-side that should be on the album
More songs like this and dead in the water please Noel
Hahaha I already said the same. 👏👏👍
He already did that for 7 Oasis albums, move on.
It's amazing that for all of his new stuff, the songs that catch my ear are the traditional sounding NG tunes!! That probably says more about me Ha Ha Ha
Yesssss ❤️
Those two songs and also And God Help Us All, Dying of the Light, The Man Who Built the Moon, and Stranded on the Wrong Beach.
I don’t know about some of you, but this song was never really a favorite of mine. Until one day I listened to it at the right time in my life, and BOOM, I totally got it.

Beautiful lyrics and amazing arrangement. This song with Dead in the water are I personally miss from Noel. Great tune I love it.
What A Quality Tune This is! One of Noels BEST since He went Solo!
One of my absolute favourites, if you're on a beach with the sun on your face put this on and let it wash over you.... beautiful.
