wow! rakugo is kind of hard for a westerner to get into, with all the japanese language puns, but i can really see why bunchin katsura is considered the best!! it's like he's got several souls inside him all at once for those conversation scenes. it's very niche, but i hope you keep translating his performances! he's got a skill that's one-of-a-kind for sure.
Is this a traditional story? I noticed several parallels with an older Japanese movie I watched called "Sun in the last days of the Shogunate"/"The Grifter". In that movie one of the plotlines is about a geisha who made vows to multiple men who eventually confront her about it together. They even mention the same tale about broken vows causing crows to die. Throughout the movie the dishonest geisha sings "I would kill all the crows on earth to sleep in with my man," which is the final punchline of this skit. I'm thinking they both must be drawing on a classic to have so much in common.
As a westerner, with no disrespect, it's extremely hard to follow. I find it very interesting nonetheless. We don't have anything like this in the west, the closest thing we have is maybe a stand up comedian, even your comics sit down. Just a joke (I wonder if that translates well lol).

You might enjoy Katsura Sunshine’s rakugo, as it’s often in English. I may have the name wrong but I believe this may be the master he trained under.
