Got my $100 voucher.. i guess you had to use it at the end of the road only section of the store..so no record art for me. I got two shirts and some buttons. Oh well. And also, yes it was Paul's sons band not Genes as i had mentioned. I got the KISS sign from Kiss pee wee golf at RIO in Las Vegas.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR CHECKING OUT THIS VIDEO AND LETTING ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. It's nice to talk rock and roll. If you want to see my little KISS collection, the video is here: th-cam.com/video/nDxF4wf7Mbs/w-d-xo.html
Man, that's a bummer. I would wager that if you wrote a nice, polite letter explaining the issue that you would get some sympathy... just a guess :-[)
Brother... Don't ever think you didn't get your monies worth ... the loo0k on your face through the entire video , ad the fact you got to tell KISS you love them .. Is Priceless for you man ...Cheers from Down Under .. saw them late last year for 2 back to back shows...money well spent ..
thanks for watching, and yes as i get older life is abut working and paying bills, so to have a night where i could just laugh and have fun..it for sure was worth it.
I Love You!!!❤❤❤😂😂😂
Thats Epic!!! KISS ARMY!!!🤘🤘🤘
Brian, I really appreciated this video and your willingness to share your experience of this VIP event and the concert with us. Anyone who has loved a band this long is bound to have a lot of feelings and want that one great final experience. So hard to hold onto as adults when, like you, we discover bands in our youth and they really become the soundtrack for our lives. KISS was magical to me as a child and though I lost touch with their music for a few decades, nothing really sums up the delight of my childhood more than my friends and I putting on KISS shows with our action figures, making the circa Dynasty costumes, stage, instruments, painting the figures faces, using sparklers, party poppers (which we disassembled and reloaded with tinier confetti)and smoke bombs for our “pyro” and bingo marker liquid for Gene’s blood. We burned up a few of those stages and the wigs we made for the figures, but it was well worth it. What other band could ever have inspired that? Anyway, thanks for sharing brother, I appreciate you and your heart.
for sure..i was lucky to grow up a AC/DC and KISS kid along with Atari and Star Wars... good times! I beat the hell out of all my toys back then.
This is GENE SIMMONS from the rock band KISS. With tax time approaching I wanted to tell you about a very special program called the KISS TAX PROGRAM. Just sign your tax return over to KISS and we will send you in return a 70s retro Kiss belt buckle with certificate of authenticity and 5 Black and white pictures of KISS.
😂
What a great video... thank you!
I salute, applaud, bow down to you for keeping your phone in your pocket.
I'm not even a real KISS fan but would have spent the grand (and like you, that's not pocket change to me) in a heartbeat... they just didn't come anywhere near me.
Thanks again!
thanks so much for checking out the video.. after a taking a few pics, no reason to have phone out a lot. Pro photographers get paid to take photos that will always be online for my viewing. So my hands are free to rock and roll. :)
Some paid $4000, some paid $1000 and some paid $500 for the "meet the band" experience. Love them or hate them, they are a business, for sure. "A good or service is only worth what someone is willing to pay" is my motto. If you were willing to pay and you enjoyed the entire "experience", then the ultimate result is an definite, YES!
at a time where bands are going broke due to poor record sales, KI$$ is still raking it in. Unreal. I just hope other bands don't think they can get that kinda money for the experience.. it is funny as Everclear is coming to town and for $150 you can hear the soundcheck and meet the band and unlimited autographs. They know their price range.
Kiss is on that commercial cash cow for sure! They have been for many years. Very cheesy stuff too. Kiss m&m's at Walmart is one of them.
I surely wouldn't pay 500 bucks or 5,000 bucks to meet & great them.
If it made you happy, it was worth it. There will never be another KISS.
@@jetjaguar72And thank God for that!
@@jetjaguar72 No, it wouldn't make me happy, even if I had the money. It's the high & unjustified & ridiculous prices being charged. They've done made their money many times over. It's their greed for money & lack of compassion for their fans. They could care less, they just want the people's money.
I remember meeting Geezer Butler & Tony Iommi at an Ozzfest, cost me 40 bucks to buy their solo cd's and I got photos with them, and autographed the cd's & I got to sit with Geezer while he signed more autographs. Now that's a meet & greet!! 😁🥰
I've been into The Who for over 50 years & I've just got into Kiss! I watched a long interview with Paul Stanley, just recently & now I get the whole Kiss scene. Wow! I'm so impressed, I know I'm many decades late, they are absolutely amazing especially the energy they put into their shows at their ages. Also, like Paul said in the interview they wear outfits which weigh 40 + pounds, plus the platform boots - it's not like they are just performing in jeans & t-shirts - so it's more strenuous for them. This video is brilliant - Thanks for sharing your Kiss Experience
Saw The Who in 89 and then again a few years ago. Always a fun time. Yeah musically KISS can be hit or miss depending on the record. BUT as a live band, they put on one hell of a show.
Go back and watch some of the early VHS (now digital I'm sure) releases they did like KISS Exposed and others. My buddy introduced me to them in the late 80s and these early releases were more genuine and raw if that makes sense. You may enjoy them.
@@BriansFunHouse The Who can be hit & miss as well! The Kiss shows are unbelievable to watch on video - I can only imagine what it's like to experience a live show. The energy they all have is amazing - especially at their age & wearing 40+ pounds of gear & those platform boots.
@@StonerCreek74 Thanks I will look for the early stuff. I'm so impressed with them. I don't know anyone that's into them which is surprising because they are so popular & have been for decades. The good thing about UTube is it recommends videos so I've watched all sorts of videos on them.
Destroyer best album for me. Also check out destroyer ressurected.
Fantastic play by play, thank you for sharing! I'm 53, been a Kiss fan since I was a kid. Grew up with not a very nice step-father who liked to drink and take his frustrations out on me. My big brother would take my mind off things by playing his Kiss records for me and while we would look at the album cover. I was just in awe. I owe this band for keeping a smile on my face through some tough years as a kid. In hindsight, kind of wishing I maybe took the opportunity to do a VIP and thank the fellas. Thanks again for sharing this amazing experienced with us!
In 1975 for Christmas that year I got a Sears and Roebuck all-in-one AM/FM, turntable, and 8-Track tape player/recorder (yes the 8-track machine had recording heads and they sold blank 8-tracks at the department store where you would buy blank cassettes). My very first vinyl LP in life was KISS - Alive! -- My dad sucked, too... but that same year I got my first guitar and my first guitar lesson the next day, December 26th. So for me, it was to disappear into my bedroom, and play my guitar while the war zone went on in the rest of the house. 48 years later, I still play guitar (quite a bit better these days, haha)... and here I am about to click "play" on a live KISS show... rock one. (Detroit Rock City is my all time fave KISS song. Back in the day, I wore out the grooves on both sides of the Destroyer album).
thanks for watching the video, i stole records from my older brothers and sisters all the time.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and taking us with you! I caught the show in Canada just before Paul got sick. Haters can hate all they want, but no one puts on a rock show like these guys! They will be missed!🤘🔥
Absolutely agree with you 100% and I had VIP tickets for the Toronto show, but it wasn't meant to be.
glad you got the show in.. i feel for the others who missed out. The only show i ever had cancel on me the night of was Bryan Adams, and he came right back a few months later. KISS plain and simple has the best stage show ever.
I am truly sorry to hear this. I feel your pain😥@@saultrockcity
Let the haters hate they don't get it and never will we don't need them the kiss army is millions and millions strong besides I think they're just jealous because the bands that they like probably put on a boring concert KISS WILL LIVE FOREVER (EVEN THOUGH PAUL AND GENE WON'T)LOL!!!
@@michaelmongelluzzo9206 I totally agree, as KISS will outlive it's members and us fans, because KISS is FOREVER !!
I worked as a stage crew member and I also did it for KISS once, my former first love in Rock Music.
So, I always got to hear/see the sound check…can’t imagine paying that much for it, but hey I’d have done the same if I could.
On the other hand, Gene and Paul are big time capitalists, they know how to squeeze a dollar or two.
All in all I am truly grateful for having them heard first a a kid.
My mom went crazy, there was not ONE spot without a KISS poster in my room.
I hear you..I got exact the same record as my first KISS record..Alive2.
And as I said earlier, I met Gene too, he grabbed a black Firefighter hat and pinched me in the cheek…I was smiling like a little girl..oh boy.
I can understand how you felt Bro!
Thanks for sharing the story.
i sure you had some great times... thanks for checking out the video.
Squeezing a dollar does not make them capitalists - you don't think socialists and communists squeeze a dollar? What makes Paul and Gene capitalists is that the entire experience is voluntary. Everyone participates of their own free will.
Great play by play and footage my friend. They’re a money making machine. Seen them 71 times all over the planet and spent approximately 150k over the years since my first show in 1974. Brought my kids backstage compliments of Doc during the 2000 Farewell Tour. Got the leather sleeve Farewell Tour Jacket
that they are.. it's kinda funny, i get mad when punk bands money grab as they preach other wise. But KISS (at least Gene) has always been up front. I want all the money i can get (i doubt the money brings him as much happiness as his kids and other things do though.) No one forced me to spend a penny on the band..ive done it, because they have brought me a lot of good times and now a cool memory. Thanks for checking out the video.
I loved your video!! You are definitely a Kiss Army Soldier!!! Thank you so much for sharing your story!!! Rock on and God bless!!!
thanks so much for watching the video.
Don't worry if you miss them. They'll be around again next year on their "20th Anniversary End Of The Road" tour.
they better not :)
They will tour again. Don’t get all hyped up. Think of all the other bands and music artists that have had multiple farewell tours. They’re using back tracking vocals and other things to keep fans believing it’s genuine.
You mean the take off the make up farewell tour..Bruce is still alive
@@jeremywhitworth7299
They will Not be touring again, live KISS shows are over.
@@jeremywhitworth7299I wouldn't pay to hear backing tracks! ....well, mabe Britney Spears I might.
Glad to hear you didn't want to waste the soundcheck filming it, instead you wanted to enjoy the moment. That's old school and i love it!
heck yeah, 15 seconds into plaster caster, i was like f' this phone.. im rocking out :)
Sounds like it was a great time. Glad you enjoyed it.🤘
Thanks, yup it was a fun night.
Huge congrats buddy.. Your true lifetime experience & memories are priceless.. fab video and thanks for sharing
Thanks. Yeah, looking back it was a great time and fun experience. I had to pay a lot, but the memories are cool.
I worked as a VIP photographer for a promoter, so I would handle bands, actors, comedians, authors and so on at the same venue and would sub on occasion at different ones. It was something I just felt dirty doing. I'd just hold my shutter down and get 4 or 5 pics each and post them all just to give people a little more and on occasion I would stall if I could tell it was a super fan or someone disabled. Most of the time I was asked to go as fast as possible.
yeah, i am looking at some of the other kiss photos and for sure they seem to have no quality control.. i hope my eyes are open.. if not, oh well.
@@BriansFunHouse The problem is it's so cookie cutter and rushed + some photogs would rather please the talent then the 300 people that paid good money for something that might be a once in a lifetime for them. I've seen sets that made me feel really bad for people. Glad yours came out!
Saw KISS a few times in the past and met them in a record store when I was a teen,it was free back then and all four were really down to earth,Eric was the nicest.
yes, my friend gave me a record signed by all four (paul, gene, eric, vinnie) from back around that era.. said like 200 people showed up and that was it.. they for sure had some slim times. Was cool to get stuff for free....
Awesome shirt and fantastic choice! The most heartfelt and best singer of KISS! Peter Criss is the most underrated drummer in Rock n Roll! Thanks for the awesome clips pics and excellent commentary!
thanks. I was lucky to meet Peter some years back. Great drummer. His voice fit the band very well. Sucks he never got a big hit on his own, but the music business is a strange one. Thanks for watching the video.
Excellent work! Thanks for sharing your experience. I have seen KISS about five times. Four times during the '80s and '90s without make up and once in '97 with Ace and Peter. This is a really good review. Thanks again.
Thanks.i saw them 86, 96, 00, 15, 19, 21 and 23. I wish I would have seen them in the 70s
WOW! Your childhood dream came true. That is so awesome. You had me just cheesing as if I was there with you. I’ve been a KISS fan since I was 12 years old at the same time I was a hardcore fan of Parliament/Funkadelic and the Mob. I always wanted to see KISS but I felt that I wouldn’t be accepted at a concert. I did get to see PFunk at 13 years old. Just like KISS and their out of this world effects in concert, I did get a chance to witness the spaceship going across the arena and land on the stage. It looks like the bands from the old days gave us spectators our money’s worth and then some. Thank You for posting the adventure you went through to meet KISS. What a dream. 🤟🏽 🤟🏽
Thanks for your comment. Funny as this past September I got to see George Clinton and P Funk for the first time. Amazing show.
@@BriansFunHouse you should’ve seen them in 1978/79 with the original group. It was an outta space experience. 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸
Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it. I'm in Ottawa, the concert was cancelled😢
that sucks..i feel for ya. I really think they should have done something for you fans like at least a free pay per view code. Id love to go up there some time to check out a senators game. Ive only been to London-Toronto area multiple times..
Great review. I did the meet and greet at the Alive 35 tour. Fun time. I saw both end of the road shows in Vancouver. I’ve been a fan for years. My first concert was the Dynasty tour in Vancouver in 1979. Keep up the good work.
thanks for watching the video. I would have loved to seen that Dynasty tour.
I have to admit I have a few issues with the absence of some spontaneity, use of backing tracks but as a fan since 1976, decided to go to the Indy show. A fun time was had. The crowd were really into it and the band were solid. I’d say Tommy had a particularly good night. I took off my musician hat and decided to enjoy it for what it is: a fun time. And it was. I’m glad this was how I finished with them live and not one of the other bad concerts I’ve seen through the years. On Saturday night, they delivered.
yeah for sure..i look at it as a performance thing.. I went to see RUSH to see some amazing players up on stage..i go (and went) to see KISS to put a smile on my face. :)
I would think everyone is well aware of what they’re getting. If it was fun, than good enough.
I can tell that you loved this experience, I'm so glad that you loved it. Nothing better than feeling like a kid again. I seen KISS for the first time in Glasgow, Scotland earlier this year and they were phenomenal
thanks for checking out the video..glad you got to catch them.
Your experience sounds to the T exactly like my VIP one at Dickies Arena in Ft. Worth. I got very, very starstruck! Anyway, I don't think there's been another band that has been as good to their fans as KISS. They give a 100% and never fail to recognize that all of this that has lasted so long was a team experience between the band and the fans. I think that's what most non-fans and critic never understood. And what a great catalog of music, and while maybe not the most technical, it's always been rock n roll defining!
A huge catalog of some very fun songs. Glad we both got a chance to see them once last time. Thanks for your comment.
Truly a Historic moment ! Enjoy the memories .
yeah i got my photo and scanned the cheapest one in (4x6) so i can make copies and other photo stuff at normal prices and not KISS prices :) It was a great night.
This is like the most relatable TH-cam video ever - glad you had a good time. Seems like money well spent to me.
thanks for checking out my video.
My first Rosemont concert was Rush 11-20-82
wow.. i would have loved to seen that. I saw them there with Tommy Shaw in 1988. I got to sneak up to around 8th row on alex's side.
Thank you for sharing your expericence! I saw them at the beginning of the Tour, it was great!! I would have had the same "childhood" reaction you did! Awesome of you to let us into your world for awhile!! Glad you had a great time!
thanks for watching, it for sure was a crazy thing to be standing next to gene and paul, if only for a second or two.
Agreed a dream come true!!@@BriansFunHouse
I paid $150 to see them at their Kiss Konvention in '95 and thought that was a lot of money. $1,000??? Nope, different times...different priorities.
thanks for watching, im usually cheap skate..but i splurgged.. i have buddies that spend 1000 a month at dive bars, so i guess it all is where you want to spend it.
GREAT job on this. Very fun and entertaining. Loved it! Thanks for doing this. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
thanks for watching the video
Kiss is a huge money making machine
other bands would kill to have a machine as big as kiss... unreal.
@@BriansFunHouse and others, like Rush would prefer to have integrity and leave the scene gracefully.
Hi Brian, many thanks for sharing your experience!! It was very similar to mine!! However, I am from the UK, and went to see their last show in London this year! I bought the VIP package. As I read on the internet from another KISS fan: Some moments are priceless and for everything else there is MasterCard. I have been a fan of KISS since the 70s. Was it worth it, hell yeah!!!!
It's great to see someone enjoying the experience. Respect!
Thanks. It was a fun night.
Really great review, man! I saw KISS at the UIC PAVILLION when I lived in the "greater Chicagoland" area on the Lick it Up tour with Vinnie Vincent! I, too, grew up on KISS! Ace was the reason that I picked up a guitar. Although I never really got rich, I did get a little bit famous chasing my dream. I left the Midwest 3 days after my 21st birthday and long story short, I ended up playing up and down the Sunset Strip in Hollywood and up and down the Vegas Strip in Las Vegas nearly getting a record deal before grunge ruined Rock-N-Roll. I not only got to meet all of my boyhood heroes, my band opened for Ace and Peter when they came to Vegas on solo tours and through a good friend who opened for KISS for 18 months, got to know Gene and Paul! I love your enthusiasm and your review. It reminded me of ME before I got so jaded from being chewed up and spit out by the "fame-game."
God bless and take care, Brian...
At least you went for your dream, so many people never attempt it. I'm sure you have some crazy stories and crazy memories. I first saw KISS at UIC in 86. Years later i would attend UIC and then drop out to go full time with the band i was in. But that only lasted a few years, as you well know..the music business is a crazy one. Thanks so much for your comment.
What a great video! I loved the way that you describe how you felt when you were meeting the band. I have felt the exact same way meeting a few of my musical favorites. It's a great experience that you will always remember. Rock on, dude!!!!!
for sure i hope some bands don't get jaded and really understand how much their music and image mean to us who grew up on it all.
Hey thanks for sharing that experience, youve made me wish I had gone for the VIP ticket. I saw them Twice on this tour at Birmingham UK, once before Covid and back in July when they came back to finish the job, that was a real bonus. Like you said no band can do a live show like KISS, high octane blow your brains out rock n roll, just an awsome spectacle. We were in the center of the arena next to the riser where Paul flies out to the audience, to see him in action up close like that, he is the consumate rock star. The end of the show was a little sad when the realization dawned that that really was it, this was the very last show I would get to see, but what a ride!!!!!!!!!
An amazing career for sure. Glad you got to see them again back in July.
Hey, Brian - Just happened to come across your video while "channel surfing" TH-cam. I'm not a huge Kiss junkie, although I was a big fan when they first broke out and still have a number of their albums. I don't think I would spend the money you did, but after watching your video I would jut like to give you kudos for making the video and being such a devout, yet humble follower. You have a lot of heart for those you admire and it comes out in your video. Hell... after watching I might just have paid the $1000+ myself! Rock on, sir!!
Thanks for watching. Kiss will always remind me of being a little kid. Might not be my favorite band, but they are always fun.
I did the same in Lafayette Louisiana and it was sooooo worth it man and I was 20 rows back the stage during the show that was amazing. Happy for the experience 🤟
thanks so much for watching the video.
Glad you had a blast spoke with two pen pals who went they were blown away
thanks for checking out my video.
Lol pauls publicist had paul sit in a hospital bed for a photo😂
Lol
I always wanted Fleetwood Mac to do these meet and greets, but only Mick Fleetwood did them. I always wanted to meet Stevie and Christine.
yup..id love to meet Stevie circa 1980.. wowza!! (don't tell my wife :)
I'm glad you spent the thousand. I'm working class like you. A thousand saved bones represents a lot of work! But one has to have some joy in life. I'm an old school KISS fan too. I turned onto them in 1975 when I was 6, so I grew up with KISS. It's kinda sad knowing they're finished, but they earned it. There's a Lotta haters- especially regarding Singer/Thayer. Me, I've got nothing bad to say about them
Yeah, for me it means being cheap with groceries, and working more overtimes....but it was worth it. Thanks for watching the video.
10:57 see the leader holding his white hat in the air LOL. He did that exact thing in Winnipeg for our vip. Hilarious
yeah. that kid was running around all day..
I appreciate your empathy for us in knoxville. I was so heartbroken! I've been a kiss fan since I was five and never stop listening to them .
Yeah, that's a tough one... cancelled last minute, and no chance of a reschedule. But we all will always have the music.
You mentioned third grade, when I was in third grade it was 1975&76 and my parents would not allow me to listen to Kiss! I had heard all of Alive back in the fall of 75 from my cousin who was older. It was not until I got my first real drum set Christmas of 5th grade with a stereo and a copy of Alive II from my parents. By that time I had my walls covered for every magazine I could find of Kiss Ace being my favorite! That cousin I mentioned was into photography and during the 1976 tour took many 35mm slides from the floor and even has a closeup of Bon Scott right beside him with Angus on his shoulders running through the crowd!!!
Was lucky to meet and get autographs of everyone except Paul during the reunion tour the following day at the Peabody Hotel Memphis! Talk about excitement I was on cloud 9 for days after meeting them and Gene actually spent a few minutes talking to me!!! Thank you for this great video!!❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
love early Bon Scott years of AC/DC. My folks were always working and were ok with rock.. they did question if i was a devil worshiper once when i hung iron maiden posters in my room in the mid 80's. But i think KISS was always cartoonish for them to take them seriously.
We did the vip in indy. Was amazing. My son surprised me with plane tickets and tickets to the final show Saturday. Great reveiw.
thanks for watching, what a surprise that must have been.
I was in Louisville in 96 for the show. My best friend (now gone) who introduced me to KISS and I were staying close to the venue that night and ended up in a shit hole bar within walking distance somehow. Sat at the bar with our drinks, and the only other guys at the bar were Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell. We shot the shit and I never said I knew who they were, although I had been excited to see them as well at the show even though nobody else at the arena seemed to pay attention to their opening set. Kept and wore the KISS shirt I got that night for 15 years before accidentally leaving it at a girl's house one late nite and didn't have her number to call and get it back. A great time and great memories, just thought I'd share. Thanks for sharing your experience!
thanks for watching, that would have been cool to see those guys. I have seen them live both with layne and recently without
Saw the farewell tour in 2000 With Gene, Paul, Peter & Ace.
thanks for watching
GREAT JOB ALL...THANX 4 MAKING Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO the music worldwide.
LOVE YOU ALL...!!!....MUCH LOVE.!!
and oowee fun.....i wonder if there will be an ALL "" A I :: KISS show soon..oooweee..
thanks for watching
Awesome I was invited by KISS to the diamond meet and Greet with photo 2017 and also the soundcheck in 2022 it really was a great experience. Great video! Happy for you!
thanks for watching
Appreciate you taking us along on this one of a kind KISS trip!
no problem..thanks for watching the video..
I was there too. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I flew to Chicago from New Zealand to see Kiss.
The rescheduled post Covid tour didn’t include NZ, so if they couldn’t come to see me I had to go and see them.
😛
Wow I flew in from Los Angeles part of the KISS ARMY FOR LIFE.
thanks so much for watching the video, that is a loooong flight.
Glad you liked the show! I saw them in 1977, 1979, and 2020
Would have loved to see them in the 70s...but I doubt my parents would have taken me...
Great video. I always wanted to know how those vip things work. I could never afford that kinda stuff . I saw them 2x in L.A. on this tour; tickets were $250.00 plus each. The first time i saw KISS was Nov, 7, 1979 Dynasty tour at the L.A. Forum. I also met Paul at a movie theater in 1982 . He told me they were working on a new heavy album, he still had the short Elder haircut and he had a beard going too. Take care......
yeah i did a Cheap Trick (my favorite band besides KISS and RUSH) and it was a hurried photo op and a signature..i felt let down.. then a few months later they did a free record signing at a store and i got to talk to all of the for a while.. You just never know what you will get..but sadly recent vip things are all money grabs ..due to the fact that bands aren't getting rich off of record sales anymore.
Hi, my name is Jim, i'm enjoying your channel and i became a Kiss fan around age 11 yrs old. i am 57 yrs old now. i'm sad about this coming to an end but i'm also on the Fence about two other guys taking Ace and Peter's place. Ace is my fav😕
thanks for checking out my video, and yes i think everyone should have came into the band with their own image..oh well.
Pretty damn Kool ! My wife bought us tickets Last Year in Detroit it was her 1st and Last time seeing Kiss! Great Video 🤘
thanks for watching, i took my wife back in 2021, an she knew two songs..but was a good sport about seeing kiss. this time i went solo.
Thank you for sharing with us. I wish I could have been there.
thanks so much for watching the video.
Thanks for sharing this, Brian!
You may already know this but Tommy and Eric not coming up with their own makeup was Paul's decision on the band's brand.
People will disagree but it makes sense for business.
For sure..that way all the stuff- characters are in sync. I wonder what Eric and Tommy would have came up with, if given the chance.
Great video glad you had a great time. I’m glad it was worth the money, you have the memory and that will last forever.
or at least until my memory fads :) My wife says i forget stuff all the time..
Great stuff man…it’s Paul’s son that’s in the opening band.Glad you had a great time
thanks for watching, yeah i gotta check them out...actually just watched a video.. their drummer is great.
All that matters is if you enjoyed it and you thought it was worth it. I for one applaud you for making this video. Thanks.
thanks so much.. yup, no one forced me to pay 1000.. and in the end, it was something really cool.
That was Awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad you had a good time.
thanks for checking out my video.
Let’s get this fact straight when Peter and ace left kiss they never stopped being the catman and space ace
Sixty thousand views my man!
That’s a pretty cool gift from one of the best bands in the world.
Hands down KISS reigns supreme!
I’m stoked for the Gene Simmons band to play some shows.
I saw him at the Park West and he was just amazing.
Personable,humble,and just generally cool.
I like that he doesn’t take himself to seriously.
He gets a bad rap.
Gene will always be my favorite.
I’m so happy for ya Brian!
Todd Pot
Yeah, no one in rock should take it seriously..its all just fantasy...unless your Bono...then you're trying to save the world. Thanks for checking out the video Todd.
Great review, I was there too! Dig all the photos/video of the venue and backstage happenings. I can tell you're filming this from the parking lot of Allstate Arena. And if you thought it was cold waiting in line, it was even colder when the doors opened at 6:30pm; a much bigger line and flurries!
glad i was inside at 630.. winter is just starting here...
Really surprised it wasn't sold out. Thanks for this man!
thanks for watching, just some seats they opened side stage didnt sell.
Nice video. I was there that night also. Only for the show though. My 6th time seeing them over the years. My first time was the Dynasty tour downtown with Judas Priest opening. My wife and I loved it and glad we went.
glad you all had a great time. I lucked out with front row at Priest a few years back over at the horseshoe casino. General admission and i walked fast. Would have love to seen that Dynasty tour.
Ask the people who had tickets for their Ottawa, Toronto, and Knoxville shows if it was worth it.. hundreds of people came from NY state to see them play ottawa and toronto, drove/flew there, booked hotels etc.. only for last minute cancellations for Paul's 'flu'. The thing is yeah ok maybe he was sick, but why just cancel and not reschedule? there are plenty of off days on the schedule between now and the final shows in NY, yet they immediately announced refunds without even taking a day to look over the possibilty of rescheduling those shows in between. That seemed pretty shady. I heard the truth was those cancellations were over poorer than expected ticket sales, that's why they never bothered to reschedule them. But in the process they F#@ked over their fans who travelled to see them.
There is not many off days. Try educating yourself ffs.
They had 16 semis in OTTAWA. The logistics just don’t work. Oh and I had tickets for both Ottawa and Toronto SMFH
Not to mention other events in those places to schedule around as well
i agree..that sucks. Maybe they knew they needed a few days off before MSG to rest up.. my grandfather could barely walk at 72..let alone be a KISS guy. But yup, i feel for the fans up there. I think bands lose touch in what it takes to go to a show.. saving up $$, asking off from work, or coming in early to leave late etc.. driving time, personal time..
Nice! I saw them like 10yrs ago with Motley Crue. I had a $20 lawn seat and my buddy had expensive tix cause he knew the monitor tech so I snuck down to the front using one of those tix and watched the whole thing like 6 rows back right in front. HAHAHA. Rock'n roll!
thanks for watching, the old sneaking up closer is a long tradition. :)
Don’t even care for KISS but have met VH like that and loved your video! Thanks for sharing!
thanks for checking out my video, VH is one band i never saw live.. i fell dumb for missing out. I love both era's but Dave has the better songs.
Great video! Thanks for sharing the experience - I've always wondered how these thing went. Saw them only once in 1997 and it was fantastic.
thanks for watching, the very few vip things i have done at concerts all go by too fast and you never get to really talk to the band. This one was cool as at least you got a soundcheck/ mini concert.
Great video, thank you. Like you, I grew up with this band, saw them live in 1979 and again three weeks ago in Vancouver. I love these guys too and will reallly miss them.
thanks for watching, i wish my first kiss show was in 79.. my first concert was cheap trick in 81..and i finally saw kiss in 86.
@@BriansFunHouse I was just fortunate to be born in the 60s 😊. For me, their End of the Road performance was just as good as Destroyer, if not better. I have loved every iteration of this wonderful band.
Dude, really enjoyed this video. So so glad you had such a great time. Keep enjoying Kiss.
thanks..it took me about 4 hours to edit and my slow/old computer wouldn't fit more footage in..but i am glad people are enjoying it!
It’s weird to think paid meet and greets are a thing these days. I remember in 80’s and 90’s backstage was literally a party…that was very surreal. Yes it was usually a situation where you had to know someone or have won a contest. But you didn’t pay for it, and it lasted a long time. Not seconds.
Sounds like prostitution to me 😂
yup..for sure times have changed. Waiting at a back stage door to get autographs was free.. and hot girls got backstage with a smile.
This was a really fun watch. It felt like we were there with you. Great job!
thanks so much for the comment.. i love your channel.. lived through you to see many metal shows down there in Florida.
@@BriansFunHouse Thank you so much!
We were there as well. 4 KISS podcast channels meeting each other for the first time. I should have looked you up earlier! What a great night! I so band wanted to do the VIP, just couldn’t swing it. This was a night I’ll never forget. We are still putting our episode together from this night. Great video and can’t believe we just saw our last show…. Wow!
all good things come to an end for sure. Good luck with the podcast, ill keep an eye out for it.
I have to say since I was born in 73 I was never much of a kiss fan, but I did respect what they did. What made me like them little Moore is in my grandmother‘s house upstairs from our house. My aunt used to live and she’s maybe 15 years older than me, so when she got married and moved out, I kinda took her room as my own and in one of her dresses she had a big Circle K sticker. I must’ve been eight or nine years old at the time and I just remembered that crazy make up, but they’re not one of the groups that I listen to throughout the years, but I did record their last show that was on pay-per-view a few nights ago just because it is an end of an era even if it’s one I was not a part of so much.
You did better than me. I couldn't afford the $400 tickets to see Kiss in Sydney. And honestly considering what Ive seen going on with the EWOTR tour I'm just happy to see why fans throw up on TH-cam. I wish you recorded the whole sound check, at least your footage was looking good and the correct aspect ratio. If Ace was still with Kiss I would be happy to throw away money I can't afford to get a photo. But I can't stomach the Tommy's role in the band. I'm sure I'm not alone.
Bro you’ve got a hundred million views on TH-cam how can you not afford it?
@@thefonzkiss Fonz you obviously don't understand this site and how my channels been demonetized savagely by TH-cam and Flaggots.
thanks for watching, i know a lot of fans recorded the whole soundchecks from other shows..not sure if the chicago one was recorded fully be anyone.
@@thefonzkissI know you are like many of us that have a love hate relarelationship with KISS. I love the past but hate the clones, lip sync etc… I also enjoy the Fonz videos. I watch them while tending to my ant colony.
@@jamesdean3548 Neat!
Brian, great video and recap of your KISS EOTR experience. My wife and I did the same experience you did.. in Nashville. Originally, my daughter was going but could not make it due to college schedule. So my wife went to her first - and last - KISS concert LOL. We had a great time although they did their "sound check" on a separate stage as the main stage was not ready. All in all, it was a fun experience and we wrapped it into other activities while in town. My first show was 1976 Destroyer Tour... and I've seen them on every tour since. Ignore the few haters here. Tommy and Eric get dumped on but every hater who rips them would also gladly take their spot if given such an opportunity. Finally, if the haters are so good let them go out and build a brand like KISS. It's a free country. I tell the haters every time... "yeah that's what I thought." They're armchair QB's at best. Hope to stay in touch. Rob
i have seen a few of those on youtube where they make shift a stage.. i am glad i got to see the real stage up close. Glad you all had a fun time.
I was at the show in Indy right before this one. I never got into KISS much growing up but a few months ago my 7 year old son became obsessed so we got tickets. We currently have an exchange from Uzbekistan so the four of us all dressed up, wore facepaint, ect. It was such a great time, my son loved it, our exchange student loved it, and I can say I fully get the fandom. I wanted to get the soundcheck passes but they had sold out.
very cool.. i dressed up years ago when i played in a joke, KISS cover band and once when i saw KISS back in 2000. Glad you all loved the show!
5:03 Gene is so cool, he hired Brian Johnson as a stagehand😂
I did the Diamond package in Nashville The sound check was in the basement because they were still setting up the stage I also bought Tommy's Blue Guitar He Played On Stage Then signed for me He was super nice I am very Thankful I got to do this 😊!!!!
wow.. that is cool. do you play guitar or will it just be a item to hang on the wall?
@@BriansFunHouse No I don't play I have a friend that does So he can give me lessons 😂
My ticket was $38! Austin Texas. Nosebleed. Rode my bike to the show 😎
thanks so much for watching the video.
i would never pay that sort of money for anyone but glad you had a good time
it was a big splurge for me for sure. i had a great time.
“Don’t knock a KISS concert until you’ve seen one” J. Buffet
thanks so much for watching the video.
@21:43 WAIT WHAT? An "Eric pick"??? GIVE ME AN EFFIN BREAK! Eric has a KISS pic??? JESUS!!!
yeah, that is a head scratcher..maybe gene got a discount if he ordered a set of 4 at a time :)
And Peter Criss had picks too....what's the problem troll?
Peter Criss never had any official picks authorized through the KISS organization but there are tons of knockoff crap out there. What are you 15 years old or what? Go away you little gnat!@@chadmiller4601
It’s weird but he isn’t the only drummer that does that. Yes I have a Peter Criss guitar pick as well with his face on one side and signature on the other
Where did you get it?...@@Starman2112ofKings
Watched them here in Melbourne, Australia in September with 103,000 people at the stadium and they were amazing.
wow.. 103,000.. now that is a crowd!
Loved how you were able to show me Diamond /Vip access to Chicago show, Just brilliant@@BriansFunHouse
GREAT!!!! THANKS for sharing Brian~! KISS FOREVER
Thanks for watching the video.
Very similar experience here in ABQ NM during the EOTR stop.
1k is a nice pile of cash for the 20 seconds for the picture and shoved out the door..
The before experience was well worth it as we were, this was in the summer so it was a outdoor arena, in a private area, captions lounge with plenty of snacks and sweets to eat and enjoy. They did give us 2 drinks tickets but it turned out we didn't need them as they were free pouring as much as you wanted!!
Had some stage hands and others who worked with KISS come in at different times with Gene and Paul's boots, have away plenty of guitar picks that there was no need to get any more.
Then Doc came out and took plenty of pictures and signed autographs, general chit chat.
Then after about 1 hour he left and told us to get ready.....
About 30 minutes later Doc came back and stated it was TIME!!!
The crowd went crazy and we were escorted back stage and there it was the setup, EOTR banner and very shortly KISS showed up. It was electric and one by one took pics, small chit chat, Eric and Paul were more then happy to talk.
Flash....flash...flash....
3 pictures and see ya...😢
As we waited for the others a lady came by and handed us the signed photo and we were escorted out.
We did get about 20 minutes of merch shopping at a stand just for the VIPs which was worth it alone before we went to the captions lounge, so this was so cool as they did not let the general public use that merch stand until we were finished.
Was it worth it, I am like you 1K is alot of money and this was a thing for me to do so in my vase it was very much worth it!!
Thanks for sharing!!
Also I hear ya about others in a different income pool as there were people who not only bought M&G package but also bought a guitar package to be held after the show!!🤯 with an average of 5K each, some guy bought a guitar from Gene and Paul. ...
Ouch, well over 12k for the night for that....
Anyhow it is a night I will always treasure!!
yeah, the lounge was something nice, but they for sure needed more seating. I'm seeing a lot of videos here from people who bought guitars and all that. Interesting. Your experience sounds very cool.
I saw them 5 times last year in cali Chula Vista, Bakersfield,Oakland, staples center,@milwaukee…KISS FOREVER
thanks for watching, 5 times is a lot.
Nice video; I enjoyed hearing about your experience at the show 👍
thanks for checking out my video.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Don’t ever say you don’t have a nice smile, bro! It’s genuine and makes everyone else smile so let it rip. Keep rockin 🤘🏽
Thanks for watching the video. My parents would appreciate that comment as they worked a lot of overtimes, so I could get braces.
I thank you from the top of my heart to the bottom, as a kiss fan your video is great, i really enjoyed your experience with kiss! I would have felt the same way!! I went to one live show February 2020 in Wichita Kansas at Intrust Bank Arena!!!! I loved the show, wanted them to play all night long, i was sad when the show ended!!! I am glad you got your money's worth with kiss money well spent!!!!!!! Greatest hard rock music show on planet earth!!!!!
Thanks so much for your comment. For sure KISS could have done a 3 hour show and added some deep cuts and really thrilled the fans.
Great video man! I saw Kiss back on the first farewell tour in 2000 and they have always put on one spectacular show ! I’m definitely a little jealous this looked amazing!
It was a fun night.
How many final shows has this band played now? Retirement never sits well with big bands. Two years later, they are out on their "Retirement Sucks" tour.
yup..seems like the thing to do. Motley Crue had me as i went to theirs..and now they are back. oh well.
Great video. I saw then in Indy.
I wonder who did the ‘you wanted the best’ intro. It definitely wasn’t the same dude who did it in Indianapolis.
i thought that too..it sounded weak and not as good. i wonder if someone paid $$$$ to do it.
What a great experience for you, friend! Thanks for sharing!
thanks for watching it..
Great video Brian.....My 3 sons and me had a meet and greet before the pandemic. One of our sons met them 2 previous times in the past and they smiled for both pictures. This time...not so much. They were tired as can be expected. One thing of note, up ahead of us there was a young special needs man in a wheelchair and Gene picked him up for the picture and gently put him back in his chair. After so many decades they do what they can to make sure everyone "gets their moneys worth." KISS tickets are very expensive but look how many professional people it takes to put on a show. And have to be paid. Never regretted a penny of the cost for a ticket to a show.
for sure the band looked burnt out. A lot of roadies etc...will hopefully find work on another bands crew. Hopefully working for KISS looks good on a resume.
