btw, the reason why Compustar/Firstech customer service told you the blue/white wire doesn't have to be connected is because that wire if connected to the PTS enables IDLE MODE also known as PITS MODE. This mode enables the remote to start after you drive a vehicle and want it to stay on. For example, if you drive the car to the gas station and you want the engine to stay on vs turning off the engine for a quick pick up, or if you have kids/pets in the car and want the heat/ac to stay on. You lose that feature if you don't connect that wire.

  • @nghianguyen7270

Blue wire was for Idle mode. I wouldn't recommend using that kind of method of choice for your hood pin since what if you park on a hill? But that's alright.

Cz, have you considered installing interior LED strips for extra lighting that works with the dome lights? I have a 2016 RAV4 LE (same color as yours) and was trying to get more information about an install using the fuse box so the LED strips would work with the dome lights. Love your videos, would like to watch you install LED strips on the interior.

I replaced interior lights with LED lights in my 2015 RAV4, but I didn't do that in my 2017 RAV4. Because I found that I really don't like the LED lights. I don't have plan to add additional LED strips.

      1. Go to Compustar wedsite, use their "Build a System". www.compustar.com/system-builder/#/
      2. Enter your vehicle information, than select what you want: Remote Start, Security, Remote Start + Security.
      3. Select Key fob (2-way or 1-way communication).
      4. Search all listed items on line (eBay, Amazon.com, ....).
Compustar Build a System does not list remote start controller. FT-DC3 should be good. Also T-harness is different btw key start and push-to-start vehicles. For example, T-harness for Toyota RAV4 is ADS-THR-TL5 for key start, ADS-THR-TL7 is for pts.

    Hi gu , I have a question on 2017 RAV4 PTS’s 30 pins body ECU .
    Idatalink said : 25 pin is RX(data)blue, 26 pin is TX(data)red.
But for db3 installation guide said:
    25 pin is TX(data)blue, 26 pin is RX(data)red.
Could you tell me which one is correct?
    Thanks
Do you use remote control to open or close your car’s sunroof? How to connect?

    • @czgu6398
      @czgu6398  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used T-harness. It's plugin and play. So I didn't do wire connection. I checked Hardwire/wiring diagram in DC3 installation guide. 25 pin is RX(data)blue, 26 pin is TX(data)red. DC3 M4, pin13 connects to pin25 on 30-pin ECU plug, DC3 M4, pin14 connects to pin26 on 30-pin ECU plug.

This is a good question. The range of key fob (Prime 901) is 1 mile (official spec). But it's actual range is less than 4000 feet. That is what I tested in different places. One mile range must be in an open space.
