Ombudsman: An independent official appointed to represent the interests of the general public by investigating or responding to individuals' complaints about maladministration or infringement of rights.
Our investigations are confined to maladministration in the institutions of the European Union. By maladministration, we mean:
- administrative irregularities
- abuse of power
- lack of transparency
- discrimination.

I stopped following the reports when the numbers passed 100 million murdered Europeans - Ms. O'Reilly???
