even though i wish the content wasn't so expensive where i live, there's no other sim racing title with the level of competitiveness of iracing in my opinion.
My main game is iRacing aswell, but tbf acc LFM has aswell some really good competetive on gt3 racing

@@ledchickenfpv7164 well they don't lower the price for content on other parts of the world with less powerful currencies like some games do, which there's nothing wrong with it, but i think we can all agree that the numbers of players would increase a lot if they did this but then that would bring lots and lots of work on their part so i can't blame iracing. also idk if they would get any profit from something like this.

enjoy playing wreckfest on ACC and AC etc then lol. Going back on them to play with a friend reminds me how much better iRacing is and worth the money

@@James-jf2cl wreckfest for maybe SA 20 lobbies. Really depends on the lobby that you're in. If your SA is too low, it does suck to be put in there with idiots. I'm like SA 80 or so, and I haven't had any huge issues with those lobbies.
@@codefk8711 when I cared mine was up in the 90’s and only play it when there’s not much to do on iracing. But I always had good races for like 4/5 laps and then if someone span once they’d just leave and then there would be like 7/8 people driving around by themselves. And also the race craft wasn’t very good most of the time
While the sim can be pricey for some, you absolutely get what you pay for and more. They are constantly improving realism and adding more content to the sim. To anyone starting, just try a couple tracks and cars you want to race first before delving into it, see how you like it. Seven years on here so far and I love it more every race. You won’t regret it!

I’ve been Iracing for over 11 years. I have almost all cars and tracks. I have seen so much improvement over the years. I’m hooked - can’t stop now.
I thought it was too expensive, and i still do. That being said, after driving for a year, i can say its worth every penny.
Agreed, once you got the tracks needed then you're alll good. If you're smart about it you can get content for pretty cheap with participation credits

I wanted to get into super late models about 3 years ago. The costs were way too much, and I was about to give up on the search when Covid hit. Then, the Iracing surge hit, and I’ve been an active member since. Iracing has allowed me to live out my dream as best possible on 1/100 the price of real racing.

@@Schwing27 it's going to be better than you could ever imagine. The dopamine rush I felt for my first month alone in iRacing was worth every penny. I'm almost at the two-year mark, and I race several times every week.
@@fearandloathingmedia2051 Comments like this make me even more excited. I’ve been playing GT7 on PS5 the last couple months. Which is decent.. but it’s more of a racing game made for the masses. It’s kind of a middle ground between arcade type of physics and realism. iRacing just seems waaaaaay more in depth.

@@Schwing27 I was a Forza Motorsport guy, I'd do ranked and even the "endurance" GT3 lobbies with hour long races and still couldn't find solace from idiots. iRacing isnt perfect, but the accidents usually are similar to reality where someone just pushes it a bit too hard, and not because they want to use you as a wall or as their brakes.

Recently joined iRacing. Was on my first Rookie Qualifying lap when my T300 motor gave out. 10/10 racing experience lol

They forgot to say that the game is soo real that you have to pay for the cars, tracks, and the ability to breathe in the game. And they will take money from your bank account every time you even look at the game
That might be the most realistic aspect of the game.
iRacing is so expensive, that buying the content of it would be almost one third from the expense of me buying my car, and its monthly running cost (not including fuel). It's unreasonably high priced. I'm happy with Assetto Corsa, Project Cars (1&2), and the content of RaceRoom.

Nobody mentions the real cost barrier for entry to iRacing... a decent gaming PC capable of running the service on top of a wheel/pedal etc etc... I hope a version of iRacing will be released for new generation consoles one day.
Please make testdrive sessions open to multiple players, it's hard to train with friends for a serie's race before the week of the track starts. An please let us try cars at least before buying them, even for 15 minutes would be fine, instead of having to wait tuesday midday where everyone in EU is at work
If you opened test drive to multiple players, people would just run race series/league for free. It's not going to happen.
Every month of sub should come with 30/60 minutes test drive though. I'd buy so much more content if that happened.
@@Pembolog they could just open then practice event for at least the upcoming week. Let's say I have my weekly series race on Tuesday, I could then practice for the next week like a regular practice session

Love iRacing and been a long time member since it was founded but haven't been able to sensibly afford it for a couple of years now. Will come back one day!
Honestly, iRacing is the best option for competitive simracing. I started in iRacing and learned from my mistakes each race. It can be very frustrating at times, but the good races are super satisfying.
iRacing… please consider allowing nonmembers to view the forums (read-only) so they can get a better feel for the product.

Quick Answer: Best Sim ever.
It can be extremely expensive but some with only certain cars and tracks. Not everyone is going to buy everything. That brings the cost way down. It's always worth mentioning is they are constantly updating and bringing new cars and tracks all the time. You also have all the content you for life. You can race for like six months for example, then not renew your membership for 5+ years, sign up and still have all the content you have purchased.
But notice they call it the leading sim racing game...
For a long time it was:
THE most realistic racing simulator....
...and yes the nuance is important...

@@StudioDaVeed Not really. If anything, it's a step forward. Obviously the game that doesn't even have rain won't be the most realistic - but it can still be the most accurate in what it simulates. "the most accurate driving experience possible" is quite a bold statement and suggests it beats any other game. Project cars 2 can be more realistic because the visuals and weather is more realistic but that doesn't mean it's accurate in the physics, damage, car handling, or tire model.
Iracing represents a career I wish I had if I was younger, lighter, wealthier and more talented at driving. Love it despite the yahoos you deal with nearly every race in D or Rookie.
I haven't climbed the ladder very far myself yet, but from what I've heard and read I don't think you can ever count on "professional" driving standards even in the top splits. It seems like there's always at least one or two loose cannons and often way more than that unless maybe in "invite only" races or the actual pro level championship race top splits and depending on the discipline even some of those can get quite "rammy". I don't mean to discourage you, but I'm pretty sure that it's a myth that higher license class races are any guarantee of less asshattery.

@@onetripwonders My main series is F3, which is notorious for bullshittery. You notice the difference between Split 1 and Split 2.
In Split 1 crashing in side by side is a risk, in Split 2 it's a guarantee. Still in Split 1 most races only about 50% of drivers have a clean one without spins or death
If you make it your mission to be reasonable with risks though you can be in the surviving half very consistently

Mate I've gotten up to A, it's just dickheads who intentionally wreck people all the way up the ladder.
Don't keep investing time and money expecting clean races eventually because they never come. A licence lobbies are worse than GTS public lobbies. A lot worse.
I'm over 2 years in by the way, and honestly the last year has just been the 'sunk cost' thing, by the time you've spunked nearly a grand on a game it's hard to just walk away and write it off. However I will not be renewing my subscription when it runs out, I'm finding a league on ACC.

Good way to be seen in your career if interested in maybe driving for real, the cars
having been in dirt track years ago are imnersive, and physics are true to life along with car damage etc. Along with enjoying vintage cars I like from the past.

iRacing is a sim I will not be renewing. In the two years I've had it (Black Friday deal 2021) I've played it a handful of times. I've never found any hint of a worthwhile game. It's more a game for those with the big bucks, who also appear to be some of the top racers. I enjoy watching the PESC streams. However, I've decided to spend my money on rFactor2 instead. If Max says it's rubbish, then it must be good.

The setup of the opening desk is hurting my brain! Shifter on the left--OK, maybe they're in Britain. Clutch on the left? Mouse is still on the right, so it's not like they just flipped the picture horizontally.
in aus the gear stick is on the left too..coz ya know..its always in the middle in either a left or right hand drive car!

It’s not expensive for what you get. I’ve been a member for over 12 years, and own most of the content. However I spend more money in just a few weekends of real life track days. IRacing isn’t a game that comes and goes in a few years. If you invest time in IRacing, it will also simulate/feel like you have a real racing career. They keep track of all your history, participation, and season performance stats (you can keep profile private though if you prefer). Top quality simulator, great seasons management, great ranking system, and world class multiplayer. I know I sound like a IRacing salesman here, but I hope they keep getting paid well so that they can keep providing us great service and updated content.
Hahaha not expensive for what you get 😂 dude if i want to buy all tracks and cars it would cost even more then a simucube sport + xero quick release and it still would cost less.... And i'm not even counting the monthly subscription 😂
@@henkhenkos8647 I understand, that is a good point. It depends on what you want. These days, the thing that draw me the most is following a season and competing for points each week. Pick a car series you like, get to know the car like the back of your hand, join a discord, and get some bump and rub multiplayer battles with a community of friends you come to know. I like to do Road, Dirt Ovals, and Rallycross, and IRacing is a darn good one stop shop for all of them.
Iracing should be free just like raceroom and focus solely on content expenses
Now we just need the option to race against friends and AI's. Or just friends.
Currently if you want to race a couple of friends you need to rent a server or be at the exact same irating and there is no AI option.

Yea. I agree that would be awesome. Bit. If you really look into the cost that would acrew too iracing it would severely cut into there profits with that many servers running from so many people. ( remember, at weeks like week 13 there are at peak hours over 80k racing actively lol.) They do allow you to pay for this. And it is pretty cheap. But I feel like they are more focused on things like adding wet weather driving. New types of tracks. And series to race at the moment.
Tbh I would be a big fan of you if you lowered the prices of the cars and tracks, or maybe sell them in packs per season. Let's say "this season, pack of cars and tracks for like 20 bucks" like a season pass. Or lower the subscription, something. It's a bit too expensive, I wish I could spend as much as needed for it but I just can't get into the game spending that much

Motorsports is already hard to get into. You could be the one to introduce the sport to a lot of new people tho. Explain things from the ground up. I'm new to this motorsports world and feel lost. The thing is I have internet access, feels like I don't know how to google.

@@AagoMcFly And the amount I spend on a set of tires for 2 weekends of real life racing costs more than all the tracks combined in iracing. Nothing comes close to iracing on the short track side and it's as close as you can get to racing some of those cars without doing it in real life. Let me know when those whole new sims have Sprint Cars, Modifieds or Late Models either on pavement or dirt.

@@Hal9023 When I started I already looked at keeping the most money. So I ended up buying stuff 6 by 6 every month, at first it costed me about 90€ per month, but once I got 40 of them, I had the instant -20%, and from this moment I just needed to buy ponctually. But the hardware is way more expensive. The setup I started with was 1.6k€ worth (pc, chair, wheels & pedals) PC was brand new, rest was second-hand. And after all the upgrades, I spent 5k€ more in hardware only (throughout 4 years), here some new and used stuff mixed up. iRacing content costed me at all about 800€ until today.
And for the submission, if you are active enough and renew it on black friday, that will cost you only 50€, so about 4€ per month. EUR and USD are pretty similar. I could handle all of these expenses while being a McDonald's employee, and that's a part-time job.

The saying goes "the value of an item is whatever someone is willing to pay". Iracing does not have a direct competitor on the same range of content. If a new platform came along, iracing would need to react.

@@chrismathewsjr I pay rent, and 12 bucks for a track or 8 bucks a month sub is nothing compared to my 3k a month rent. Learn to manage your finances better so you arent penny pinching every week.

lol no in-game footage, mention of the need for 3rd party apps or the great SR system. Saying that it's the only sim out there with live servers for ranked races and practice. Really hope that new sim gives it the shake up it needs.

They literally let idiots grind out SR in Time Trials. That is why 'A' licence events are just as full of idiots as the rookies, SR is meaningless. as are the protests, they do nothing with them, just an illusion. They are far too worried about losing subs to actually sort the problem out.

No World Scale VR option in Iracing !!...so all is tiny and immersive is very bad for the oculus quest headset. It's a shame

It's the best sim out there hands down. There might be some others that do FFB differently, but overall iRacing is the leader. There's no larger driver population in sim racing and the competitiveness in each race is second to none. The cost to entry and the cost to continue are a small price to pay for what this service offers. I started sim racing at the end of 2019 and I can't imagine a future without it. iRacing is definitely the sim to be on. There's a reason so many pros use it.
anger is expensive? maybe. but this is the number one filter for those who do not know or want to learn to run cleanly, the vast majority of people who pay iracing do not join to do the asshole. I prefer it to remain expensive than to be filled with criminals at the wheel

Something has been done, years ago stuff was $20 each not $11.95 like it is now
iRacing already does a lot for reasonable prices. For example, they don't raise prices for years, even though inflation is hitting. The people who bought the content years ago have effectively paid more than people who buy today.
I already paid that in 2014: Daytona 14.95 and Ford Fusion 11.95. In 2014! Effectively, iRacing becomes cheaper because people have more money... well, most of them... Except those who complain. But for them, everything is too expensive anyway.

Last time I checked, the game wasn't compatible with my Logitech G920 and couldn't be set up so I had to get a refund. I wonder if that's still happening?
