Reaction to viral Arapaima feeding video that could've gone horribly wrong!

Today's video is a reaction video to a viral video that came out earlier this week that i really felt compelled to say something about. It showcases a well known and respected TH-camr seemingly blindfolded feeding some absolutely monsterfish from his teeth! In the Video the individual appears to be knocked unconcsious by the massive power of the arapaima's strike...However truth be told the entire video was staged and fake! A stunt for views perhaps? Is this where we've come? risking ones health solely for shock value?
Regardless of the level of respect I have for both the youtube creator as well as the place where it was filmed, also a very well respected TH-camr whom I hold in high esteem.
I believe the topic of the video really needed to be addressed.
This could've ended REALLY badly and IMO nothing is worth the loss of ones life...
Now most that know me know full well that I am no stranger to dealing with potentially dangerous animals however I have never deliberately put myself in such a situation.
Instead of just taking my opinion on the matter I interview a world renown and respected individual whom has worked with these fish extensively both in the wild and in captivity in his career as curator of tropical waters at the Vancouver Aquarium, Mr. Lee Newman.
I am truly thankful that no one was not harmed including the fish in the making of this video.
Perhaps we can reflect on how badly this could've gone. Just because nobody got hurt this time doesn't mean that the next time couldn't end with possible catastrophic results.
Please do not try stuff like this on your own!

I agree with you. This vid was totally irresponsible. He's lucky that it didn't break his nose or worse. He's also setting a bad example for thousands of children and young adults.

rodrigo I started watching his channel when he was fairly new , he was building filtration for his huge aquarium and it's really refreshing to see his channel and business grow as well as his drive to learn and he's really respected by me, paul on the other hand is just young doesn't seem to want to learn and he's type of guy that just throws fish in the barrel and see what lives...lol zero drive to learn he certainly has never accepted advice from people, Actually seems unwilling to! mostly discouraged by his fishkeeping advice and ignorance!!? I'll just say my jaw dropped when I saw API sponsor him...lol it was like Purina dog foods sponsoring michael vick!!!!!!

We may not agree with his actions but he is a very successful TH-camr....Maybe we are doing it all wrong?
I have nothing but respect for Rod... Just the messaging this video has concerns me...Reality most won't care. Most wouldn't have cared even if he died doing it...ALL for the views is a sad way to live IMO.

That said, it reminds me of one of my college professors explaining a "normal curve" to a very perplexed student :
Professor: "!imagine a hill with equal sides of tapering slope. Most people are in the middle; however, at the extreme of the right side is Albert Einstein. On the extreme left, is a guy checking to see if his gas tank is full by looking in while using a lit match for light.
Student : "Uh, got it."
Professor: "Great, feels better now that you're on the right side of the curve doesn't it?" :)
