- FIRST LOOK: Ram has finally done something that the truck fans really wanted. The Rebel has been added to the 2500 lineup. On the outside you will discover a function hood scoop, off road tires, and rock sliders. On the inside there is a full digital gauge display and 12in vertical infotainment system scree. Under the hood is the Cummings Turbo Diesel power plant. Is the Ram 2500 Rebel a NEW truck worth the PRICE?

My son used to have a 2004 Dodge 2500 Cummins diesel. He sold it in 2019 with 550.000 MILES on it with lots of life left in the truck. Those Cummins are amazing....beautiful truck. Thanks Joe.

I think the Ram Rebel is a nice nice truck. Compared to the other 2 Apostles to the off-roading like the Ford and GM this is awesome.

The 2500 ram will have a semi redesign next year. They are bringing the 1500 cab to the 2500s that means the 2500 next year will have a panoramic moonroof

Just a minor correction here, you say several times that you can tow 16k pounds with the Cummins, but the Rebel with the Cummins is only rated for 14k pounds. If you want to tow 16k you'll need the gas engine.
14,920 for Cummins, 16,870 for HEMI.
That’s just sad 😂
And 1000lb less payload with the diesel too. So you get to pay more up front, spend more on fill-ups, and then have it all break down on your before a 100k. Diesel fanboys love this kind of stupid shit.

That truck is on top of my list if I ever run into "$60,000+". That ridiculous black plastic should be illegal. It makes the truck look cheap, and it does not age well at all. for the price you pay, everything should be painted.

It’s the same plastic that’s on top of the bed rails and tailgate. I have a 2019 RAM and the plastic still looks new. Just apply some 303 Aerospace protectant and it will last forever.

I not 100% sure but the grill and bumpers are powder coated steel like on the trx

Personally prefer the old mirrors. Like how they gave an option with them, regular mirror for everyday use or tow mirror for when your actually towing.

It does NOT have a front locker. Only limited slip
AND
Does NOT have an unlocking sway bar disconnect. Only the Power Wagon.

This is a great truck. Very sure it's a gas guzzler but it's a beautiful beast. By the way, this dude can probably the best car sales guy I've ever seen
RAM is the only one that has the same looking body as its 1/2 little brother. It's past time RAM joins the club and makes the larger truck look different.

Love your channel sir!! As for the zonk on the panoramic moonroof the 2500 and 1500 Have different cabs so ram can’t put a panoramic moonroof in the 2500s. But the 1500 cab is coming to the HD trucks next year hopefully they said so it will have a panoramic moonroof next year. As for the heads up display ? Yeah that’s definitely a zonk
I’d love to know for sure if that is true about the 1500 cab coming next year. I’m in the market for a new truck and the Rebel HD ticks so many boxes for me, but I’d definitely wait until the ‘24 model year for the new cab. It is just so much bigger in the rear, the pano moonroof is a bonus, and the interior is just that much nicer (the door cards, for example).
But as other commenters have said, we’ve heard the 1500 cab is coming to the HDs for a while now so I’m tempted to just buy now. Of course if I do, it means the rumours are true and I’ll kick myself for not waiting. 😂 I’m not one to trade in often and would not be in the market if I didn’t need a truck (my car is a 2016, runs great and still looks good IMO). I’m sure we won’t hear a confirmation from RAM until late into ‘23 so as to ensure sales don’t dip this year while people (like me) wait.
Has rear lockers only. Powerwagon is still only Ram truck with front lockers.

Not everyone needs the extra length in the cab. The cab is adequate especially if you have the long box version. If you want more rear space, get the mega cab… Ram will lose out if they get ride of those options and just have the 1500 Gen 5 cab.
I personaly think the Silverado and the F-250 look way better than this but that's relative to each person. All of them are great trucks and it's great to have different options in this segment.

The Ram Power Wagon starts at 1K more and comes with a winch standard. Confused on why they created this one, unless it is the diesel option only being on the Rebel.

@@XploreAz Agreed, the Rebel maintains HD towing and payload. It’s the PW for people who actually need to use their truck for truck things and going off-road is a secondary requirement. Can’t get the Cummins in the PW, and the Hemi in the Rebel pulls more than the PW.

Honestly, I am a Ram guy 150%, but this just looks like they took the Power Wagon and slapped a Rebel sticker on it. So this will now compete with the Power Wagon? I think its great you can choose different motor options, just not understanding putting two trucks that are almost identical and at the same price point, aside from a winch and names. That looks like the same exact truck as my 2021 PW.
It's basically a PW without a winch so you can get a diesel option. I still think the PW has better suspension.
@@sh0cktim3 PW will be better in crazy off road conditions, for sure. But the Rebel HD tows and hauls more (in either engine option) that the PW due to that suspension. For those who don’t need the off road chops of the PW and need their truck to do truck things, and can still handy rougher roads better than a non-PW 2500, then the Rebel HD is the way to go. I think it’s a winner.

This was Ram's way of satisfying those who kept complaining that they could not get the Cummings in the Power Wagon. I have to ask, what is with the all black interiors??? I know some people say they like it because it does not show dirt. Well, have you heard of cleaning your interior? Also, a black interior in hot weather (Texas or Florida's in summer) is not a pleasant place to be. How about some more interior color options? And that notched out middle of the back seat is not a good thing. That why when I ordered my Ram 2500 back in 2020, I went with the MegaCab. I have the Limited with the 6.4 Hemi, 4.10 rear end, air suspension and lots of other goodies. I see that for 2023 they no longer offer the 6.4 Hemi in the Limited or Longhorn trim levels. Seems foolish given the horrendous price of diesel fuel.

Interiors are luxury and the rebel design looks great. But the 1970's front end still needs redesigning. If you drove a 76 Ford or Chevy you'll remember. There is no advantage to it. Don't cut your wheels and punch it. And it make a large bang in the floor boards when you hit a pot hole. So the creature features are top of the line. The front end is your great grandfather's front end.

Why not just get a Power Wagon? I'm a little confused what the difference is.
There are a bunch of differences: PW = no Cummins option, lower payload and less towing capacity due to softer suspension = better off road capabilities, plus front disco, etc. The PW is basically a full-sized Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. The Rebel HD tows more, hauls more, and can do off road conditions better than a non-PW. Plus you can get the Cummins in it.
The Rebel HD is for people who want an off road capable truck to still do truck things rather than sacrificing towing and hauling capabilities for the serious off road chops of the PW.
