My samoyed would wait until someone got home to eat because she knew she would have to be let outside to use the bathroom after she ate. She was very calm and gentle but liked running around the yard and playing and very protective. Me and a friend of mine pretended to get into a fight to see her reaction she stood over me and growled barked showed her teeth at my friend I quickly got up let her know I was okay and licked my face my friend was pretty shook lol . She got along and played with other dogs but she wouldn't let another dog come near me. She would jump in my bed and cuddle up to me when it stormed outside because she was afraid of the thunder. She passed away at 15 years old because her hips gave out and she couldn't get herself up and we had to put her down .Best dog ever. She was family. Everyone shed tears when we had to put her down. I highly recommend getting a samoyed.

I have always been around Huskies growing up my father always adopted and raised a few over the years. My sister adopted one a year back and I recently adopted a Great Pyrenees Samoyed mix. He’s the floofiest dog I’ve ever seen. while physically he looks very similar to a Siberian Husky you can tell he’s not due to his behavior, he’s calmer and easier to train. His coat is also a different texture a super soft. So grateful to have him in my life already so attached 🤍
Sams are super super sweet and love to talk. I am on my third pair. Lots of hair always. They stay clean because there is no oil in their skin but the dirt will come off in your house.
I imagine Samoyeds are just the happier looking, cutest looking and nicest dogs I have ever saw. I saw a few huskys before but I never went near it as a kid, cause I was scared of it so I'm kinda still hesitant to pet it to this day 😅

We have had 3 pure samoyeds and 1 Sammy mix for the first 17yrs of my life. Our 2 females and our mix(male) had been extremely loyal, child safe(except the mix) and very well behaved. Our pure male was mischievous and got into trouble often and was not child safe. When they have companionship and/or the right training they can be left alone for about 8-9hrs without issues. Only our pure male passed from genetic issue the other 3 passed from cancer(later learned it was because of the food we fed). I currently have a 2yr old female lab mix but I’m will be getting a Samoyed puppy when she turns 3 and will probably stick to having at least 1 in my home from now on. I miss having the breed so much.

I've been a husky mom and now have a samoyed. This are my thoughts on a comparison. I love both breeds. Before I had my Sammy, I considered husky asy ❤dog. I could no longer keep a husky because of allergies to them but noticed that samoyeds that people I knew had never bothered me. The cost of samoyeds are higher than huskies from what I have seen. It's also much easier to adopt a husky that needs to be rehomed. Samoyed rescues usually prefer people that have either had or now have a a Sammy. Most often you will need to get on waiting lists for well good breeders. They are both beautiful dogs. I love the looks of both dogs. Samoyeds are much easier to train. No comparison. Both breeds are very intelligent. So people don't think that's true because I have found that they both are good at problem solving but meshing the desire to be pack/family with it's humans give a edge to the samoyeds. Huskies are more independent. Samoyeds want to be with their humans. Both huskies and sams tend to be vocal. My Sam barks Loud. Huskies howl and bark. I never minded the howls and laugh at my Sam when he howls. He howls whenever a siren goes off. Vet cost seem about the same. Last thoughts. I love snow dog and lived where there were lots of them. Huskies are more popular. Than any of the others. My Sam is my medical service dog. He loves having a job. I think it would be harder although both breeds can work as service dogs. Both are wonderful breeds as is the malamute, As well as the rarer artic breeds

Both of my samoyeds were $3000. I bought one from the US and one from Russia. Both are champion-sired and AKC registered. A sam without papers might be cheaper, but not much. And they're more likely to have health issues if the breeder doesn't know the lineage or do health testing.
I've had 5 Samoyeds & I absolutely love them. Nika, our current fur baby, has the sweetest personality. She doesn't try to run away, unlike 2 of our previous pups. She's very smart & intuitive. She loves people &) dogs. Our son's pup, Force is a Husky mix. He's unbelievably smart & intuitive, like Nika. He loves people. Unfortunately, he's dog aggressive, although not with Nika. They get along very well. Soooo.....I have to choose Sammies because we've had them for years. My opinion is biased but Huskies are a close second.
Also I was injured and alone for 8 hours when my husband was late coming home and I was incapacitated couldn't move. My Sammy's sat by me never moved and surrounded me at watch attention til help arrived. Super empathetic creatures. And they are self cleaning and so sweet. I could go on all day but both huskies and Sammy's are incredibly intellegent both are amazing. My parents have a white husky. So I get to see them both in action.
I love Huskies, but, Samoyeds take the win for me. I grew up with one, i’m only 12 now, but i had one when i was younger. Unfortunately he passed away when i turned 5, lived to be 13 years old, RIP sayber

We've had 5 Sammies. After our first pup, Misha, we've never looked back. Our latest, Nika, is beautiful and the sweetest girl. She's 7 but looks and acts like a puppy. My son has a Husky/Border Collie cross, Force, who's the smartest, most intuitive pup we've ever known. My husband & I will always stick with Samoyeds but we understand why our son loves Huskies.
We have a male Sammy. He is a great dog. Very intelligent and communicative. Very friendly to people and kids. But also very stubborn when we are in the nature. He doesn't like to come back when we call him, he is just runnig 5m around us to keep safe distance :) He is also quite aggresive to cats & squirells. Once he got mature he also became aggresive to most male dogs. But in general he is really great dog. When we walk in the city many people admire him.

lol my dog is Rhodesian Ridgeback/Siberian Husky. You only see the Husky in her ears, eyes, and the way she sheds. Oh and her back talking and escape artistry. She literally will use her tongue to flip the latch on her crate if we put her in there to leave without using something to lock it shut. She's very destructive if left alone. So we have no choice. But man she's smart.
In general, Samoyed is very sociable, likes being with people, cuddling and patting . On the other hand, husky is less sociable , does not willingly approach people, husky seems to be highly talkative / likes to argue, more active than samoyed.
I have a husky with deep blue eyes, most gorgeous and smartest dog ever! They can be a handful to train when they are young, but if you stick with it, they will love you for life
I originally wanted the Samoyed but decided on a husky. My husky can stay home alone without destroying anything during the work day but does get a 1.5-2 mi walk everyday once I get home from work. He eats when I get home but has both available to him. Yes, I’m sure he’d love to be with me full time but he is understanding after we worked on his separation anxiety. Training has gone better at an older age (now 2) but leash pulling is a big problem when on hikes. He loves children but he forgets he’s a big dog so he’s always on a leash and by my side when around children. Every dog has a different temperament but can be trained with love, patients, and treats.
Samoyeds are tough but worth it. I love them I have 5. And I spend 50 percof my time brushing because you can't cut their fur if you wanna keep them soft and it keeps them cool. Lots of work but worth the effort and love. I do love them both but I'm team Sammy!
I have 2 Samoyeds... Boy now 9 months,girl 1 year and 9 months... Best dogs i ever had,but they need alot activities,long walks and big yard so they can play all day long... they are white as snow and also if they get dirty,wait that mud dry and simply it will fall off and they will remain white again... their bath is like 3h minimum becouse you need to get them dry after bath and it takes alot of time... simply they loves everyone,except cats :D ... you wont be bored if you have them,you wont be sad or anything bad becouse they can simply change your behaviour in no time... Vet prize is more less same for every dog same size so it wont be too different... if you need guard,not dog for you at all... they bark alot even on air,they smile alot,they are annoying when they want to pet and thats like only 24/7... they are smart,funny,annoying in good way,alot active,cutest dogs who can play all day long with people,you will need good vacum cleaner, they want you 24/7 near them or they will be destructive,they love eating woods so furniture is in danger... simply,if you have alot of spare time its dog for you,if you like talking to people,also best dog for you becouse in walks people will ask alot of questions about them... but on end... if i change time back,i would get them again... they will make your life better in every way...
Having friends that own Huskies and also meeting several sammies other than my own...I prefer sammies. They tend to be much more affectionate and less crazy.
Samoyed dogs are not a perfect pet for full time workers, it seems. Owning either breed looks like a full time job within itself where I probably have to wait until I am retired or have a telework job before adopting one.
This is true, at least in the case of my sister. She insisted on buying a samoyed...two, actually. The first got killed by dashing outside into traffic as a pup. It was probably because she kept the dog cooped up in a tiny city apartment all day long while working, and by the time she'd come home, the place would be trashed. I remember there were a lot of behavior issues with the second dog, even when they put him through training. I have no idea how they kept him until old age. He must've been miserable in a tiny place inside a huge city without a large park nearby to run around in.
Yeah so heres the answer to that question. If you whant an unpredictable dog you choose a husky! But if you whant cuddle cuddle and friendly to anything and eavrything and is more intilligent you choose a samoyed. FOr me it was the samoyed.
Samoyeds we're bread to sleep with people at night and babysit also. We have had many Sammy's never seen a better breed with dogs like nana from Peter pan 💕
Quite a few inaccuracies in this. Samoyeds are not easy to train for instance. They are stubborn and have a massive prey instinct which makes it difficult to get them to concentrate on whatever task you try to teach them.
Samoyed aren’t very independent. If they are alone for too long they can have destructive behaviour until reunited with other dogs or possibly an owner
I had a Husky, missing her. Prefer them over Samoyeds. Both breeds are gorgeous. Although Samoyeds are easier to train, they are much harder work. Sammys resemble polar bears, huskies wolves lol
I've had several of each breed. The siberians learned new tricks more easily than the samoyeds but the Samoyeds were more obedient and better behaved on lead. One of the best lead dogs on my dog team was a siberian. He had the confidence to lead the team through tight trails and challenging terrain but he wouldn't listen at all if he was off leash. The best off leash dog of those breeds was a male Samoyed. He wouldn't heel or stay when told but he would always come when called.
Samoyeds are cute, but huskies are beautiful!! I’ve a 11 month old white husky puppy with blue eyes and people have mistaken him for a Samoyed till they see his eyes 😂. I like husky because they’re independent. Samoyeds are super cute but they seemed very attached to their owner. Plus, the huskies look like handsome looking wolves. He loves children but he forgets he’s a big dog so he’s always on a leash and by my side when around children. Every dog has a different temperament but can be trained with love, patients, and treats.
Samoyeds are tough but worth it. I love them I have 5. And I spend 50 percof my time brushing because you can't cut their fur if you wanna keep them soft and it keeps them cool. Lots of work but worth the effort and love. I do love them both but I'm team Sammy!

The weight given for the Samoyed may be for a female. We have a 4 1/2 year old Samoyed male and he is 94 pounds and he is smaller than his father was.

I have 2 Samoyeds... Boy now 9 months,girl 1 year and 9 months... Best dogs i ever had,but they need alot activities,long walks and big yard so they can play all day long... they are white as snow and also if they get dirty,wait that mud dry and simply it will fall off and they will remain white again... their bath is like 3h minimum becouse you need to get them dry after bath and it takes alot of time... simply they loves everyone,except cats :D ... you wont be bored if you have them,you wont be sad or anything bad becouse they can simply change your behaviour in no time... Vet prize is more less same for every dog same size so it wont be too different... if you need guard,not dog for you at all... they bark alot even on air,they smile alot,they are annoying when they want to pet and thats like only 24/7... they are smart,funny,annoying in good way,alot active,cutest dogs who can play all day long with people,you will need good vacum cleaner, they want you 24/7 near them or they will be destructive,they love eating woods so furniture is in danger... simply,if you have alot of spare time its dog for you,if you like talking to people,also best dog for you becouse in walks people will ask alot of questions about them... but on end... if i change time back,i would get them again... they will make your life better in every way...

Samoyed dogs are not a perfect pet for full time workers, it seems. Owning either breed looks like a full time job within itself where I probably have to wait until I am retired or have a telework job before adopting one.
This is true, at least in the case of my sister. She insisted on buying a samoyed...two, actually. The first got killed by dashing outside into traffic as a pup. It was probably because she kept the dog cooped up in a tiny city apartment all day long while working, and by the time she'd come home, the place would be trashed. I remember there were a lot of behavior issues with the second dog, even when they put him through training. I have no idea how they kept him until old age. He must've been miserable in a tiny place inside a huge city without a large park nearby to run around in.

Yeah so heres the answer to that question. If you whant an unpredictable dog you choose a husky!
But if you whant cuddle cuddle and friendly to anything and eavrything and is more intilligent you choose a samoyed.

Quite a few inaccuracies in this. Samoyeds are not easy to train for instance. They are stubborn and have a massive prey instinct which makes it difficult to get them to concentrate on whatever task you try to teach them.

I had a Husky, missing her. Prefer them over Samoyeds. Both breeds are gorgeous. Although Samoyeds are easier to train, they are much harder work. Sammys resemble polar bears, huskies wolves lol
I've had several of each breed. The siberians learned new tricks more easily than the samoyeds but the Samoyeds were more obedient and better behaved on lead. One of the best lead dogs on my dog team was a siberian. He had the confidence to lead the team through tight trails and challenging terrain but he wouldn't listen at all if he was off leash. The best off leash dog of those breeds was a male Samoyed. He wouldn't heel or stay when told but he would always come when called.

Samoyeds are cute, but huskies are beautiful!! I’ve a 11 month old white husky puppy with blue eyes and people have mistaken him for a Samoyed till they see his eyes 😂. I like husky because they’re independent. Samoyeds are super cute but they seemed very attached to their owner. Plus, the huskies look like handsome looking wolves. My 11 month old does a great job keep out solicitors who comes by.
