  • Track 6 from Shadowfax Live At Saddleback College, 1983. This is the only known video of "A Song for My Brother" from the earliest known live concert video of the band. Members include Chuck Greenberg (lyricon), G.E. Stinson (composer, guitar), Phil Maggini (bass), Stu Nevitt (drums), Jared Stewart (keyboards), Adam Rudolph (percussion) and Jamii Szmadzinski (violin).

    I’ve loved this song to death for many years. This is the first time I’m seeing the live version. I always enjoy odd time signatures and the repeating phrase of 4/4, 3/4, 4/4, 7/8 is just brilliant.

    An epic classic piece! Should be widely recognized, as good as Europa or Samba Pa Ti or For the Love of God, its on that level

    Wow, what a blast from the past! Saw these guys earlier than this, about 1982 or 1983, in Eugene, Oregon. This was (and still is) one of my favorite Shadowfax songs. GE Stinson really channeled J. McLaughlin, R. Towner, J. Abercrombie, etc. with this composition. Hadn't heard it in ages until I found it again trying out Amazon Music, and now can't get it out of my head. Don't want to either.
