    Great post! I used to live in Crestline for 20 yrs. I had to drive Highway 18 everyday for work, rain, snow, falling rocks, fog, bad drivers. NEVER GOT USED TO IT. lol

      20 years driving these roads? You're the Man!!! We would have left 19 and a half years sooner than you...because of the roads not the town. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼

    I’m not sure I would want to drive our 43’ toy hauler up that mountain. Thanks for sharing.

Great stuff folks and thank you, thank you, and thank you for both of you for your service to our country and community. Happy safe travels...cheers!

    And to think, you're so close to San Bernardino, which is basically LA area. Glad the speed limits are sensible. With the camper behind you, longer breaks at the pullouts could ease the stress!

      Those turnouts helped a bunch. The problem is we had to keep going up. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼

    Dude!!! You are so much better than me! I would have been picking on her the whole way up the mountain. That was y'all's best video yet. Please have her nap on the drive down so she will not be scared. Enjoy your new Camp Host duties!

      I can't be mean to my co-pilot, she is terrified of heights. As far as taking a now, that's not going to happen, she has to know what's going on. Thanks for the compliments and taking time to watch our video. 👍🏼

    I laughed all the way thru this video!!! Rebecca's reaction is EXACTLY like mine when we are in the mountains! It was good for my husband to see that I'm not the only freak show out there!!! Thanks for sharing your anxiety!

      The last couple days have been in the low 80s and very cool at night...great sleeping weather. We use Verizon and we get pretty good signal in the campground. Are you planning on camping here?

    I'm a
    71 y/o widow, and I'm terrified to
    drive this. Somebody pray for me, please. 😢

    Sal, you’re my new hero my man driving up that mountain. Sorry Rebecca you reacted same way my wife would’ve with is understandable. My wife would’ve taken a zanax or a couple of shots of her favorite tequila. Look forward to your camp host video. Safe travels 🤙🏽

    • @TheTinCanTravelers
      @TheTinCanTravelers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was just the driver, trying to get to our next work camping gig. Rebecca likes to see what's going on when driving, so no chance in her taking anything that will keep her from doing that. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼

    Why take the chance if you don't have to? One life/many chances to lose it.

    I really appreciate this video! We will be visiting dogwood campground in a couple weeks with my family. My daughter who is 8 years old is terrified of heights. Last time we tried to take a trip up to the mountains and she had a panic attack. We had to turn around and go back home. Any recommendations on what I can to make the drive less scary for her? Is highway 18 less scary?

    • @TheTinCanTravelers
      @TheTinCanTravelers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Traveling CA 18 coming up to Dogwood would keep you on the canyon side almost all the way up the mountain and might seem scarier. We'd recommend CA 330. Maybe keep your daughter up later the night before, so that she is more tired during the trip and may fall asleep. Also if you're not driving, you could sit in the back with your daughter to help calm her. Having her sit behind the driver, would put her further away from the edge of the road and may make her feel safer. If she does begin to panic during the drive, use the turnoffs to park until she is calm and try again. We hope we provided you with some helpful advice. Thanks for watching and we hope to see you and your daughter in the campground soon. Take care. 👍🏼

    We’ll that looked beautiful and terrifying 😳🤢😂. I don’t think I could be a passenger on that drive - I’m a horrible passenger in the best of circumstances.

    • @TheTinCanTravelers
      @TheTinCanTravelers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was one heck of a drive, especially pulling a travel trailer. But I'm sure I'll get used to going up and down the mountain, since Beefy has vet appointment every 6 wks in LA. Needless to say, Rebecca will be staying home for those trips. 😊

    If your marriage can survive RVing, it can survive anything. Even remodeling a kitchen is easier on a relationship.
