The only reason skurry got 11 mask shards, awoken dream nail, great slash, left slash, unbreakable strength at one charm cost, spell twister at one charm cost, one non-descript dreamer, vengeful spirit, 1 charm notch, king's brand, the ability to swim, lumafly lantern, shade soul, ismas tear, desolate dive, and herrah is because they saved the grub in hive. The grubs bless those who end the curse. The grubs are merciful.

I just want to say this so it can become a thing: meme speed run to free all the lumaflies! Every breakable lamp, headlamp, lantern, chest and any other opportunity to free a lumafly. Don’t buy the lantern to not be a hypocrite. It can be called either freedom% or Lumafly%

We need a split C-dash, a split dash slash, a split great slash and a split vengeful spirit
We also need the unbreakable charms and swim/isma's to have the same mechanic as the spells and their shade equivalents, if possible
Honestly, I think its almost funnier to be able to swim in acid perfectly fine, but die the moment you touch clean water
I don't think split dash/great slash or even split vengeful spirit would add much to the game, but split c-dash could be cool yeah.
would be neat if charms could randomly cost 0 slots so even the 1 slot charms have a chance of being improved
It does, skurry got unlucky. My strength and soul eater charms were both 0 notches.
Now we need negative numbers slots, they reduce the amount of slots you used

I wonder if there's also a way to randomize nail upgrades. So like instead of giving you nail upgrades, you get a random item from the blacksmith instead and can find nail upgrades in the world like any other item.
Better yet, you could lay the items on the floor like how Seer and Grubfather work and put the requirements behind Pale Ore

It's because there are 4 dreamer items and Skurry just never found Monomon this run, He existed somewhere, He was just never found

Skurry seems to finish the most painful challenge i can think of in Hollow Knight, and then immediadly go 'yeah but what if i made it _worse_ ?'
Is it possible to make a charm randomizer for the Pantheons? Like, you receive different charms of different amounts for every fight?

I had a one-notch strenght AND a one-notch quick slash in one of my playthroughts. Was pretty cool.
I just got randomiser today and in my run, the first item I got replacing fury was monomon - infected crossroads with no items is not fun
i really hope that someday we will get a compilation of skurry finding and saying "EgG?!" in all of his Hollow Knight Randomizers.

I like how literally no one ever selects to randomise Lore Tablets, even when running on literal one health with only Downslash and no charm notches. I have seen people do _Geo Rocks_ more than Lore Tablets.
By the way, what version of Rando is this? I have the 3.0 version with Split Movement and Cursed Nail but it doesn't have randomised swim and all the other horrors.
I also have the lastest version and can't find the settings. It seems like they have 3.12b (220) but I don't know where to get it.

I think this is beta rando? Iirc skurry said so in some of their streams, dunno where to get it tho
Skurry has a link to this discord in the description for where to find this rando mod, it is this link: discord.gg/qsEyeSzCwn
When you join, go to the Randomizer section, then "#rando-announcements" and find the most recent version of the beta build for the rando mod. Currently the most recent is "Rando version 3.12c(884)." You then download and place the .dll file in your Mods folder in your Hollow Knight game path. You can get to this by right-clicking on Hollow Knight in your steam library -> Manage -> Browse Local Files. In the window that pops up, open the folders: hollow_knight_Data -> Managed -> Mods.
When placing the new beta rando mod file in the folder, if you already have the other "RandomizerMod3.0.dll" file in the folder (the one that was downloaded through Modinstaller), then it should ask you if you want to replace the file; just say yes here. Once the beta rando file is in, you are good to go.
Note: I am unsure if you need the other mods downloaded that make the stable randomizer mod 3.0 work (such as Vasi, etc., which usually download automatically through the modinstaller), so make sure you have RandomizerMod3.0 downloaded through the modinstaller, and just disable it there, or replace the file with the beta file afterwards.
Probably not the best place to put this, but can we get a Randomized setting that makes Pogoing an Item? No pogo until it's found.
That… would make it extremely hard, especially if paired with cursed nail, but… it could also be very entertaining 😈😈

@@Deadflower019 yeah, I know. But it would make it hard regardless of if you’re playing with cursed nail or not, because pogos are so widely used as a combat/movement option. It also removes many randomizer skips (until you find the ability to pogo, that is)
But, still, having more options in the randomizer mod is never a bad idea!
I know it's possible to remove the pogo effect from down-slash, I've seen it used in some other mod. Something about clearing through a hard mode of King's Pass. So in theory it should be possible to randomize it along with everything else. But definitely put it as a distinct option from Cursed Nail, I feel like.

Hey Skurry, here’s an idea for a speedrun you could try if you feel like it. Basically, your goal is to fill up all of your inventory space. So you’d need to collect a lot of the ‘required’ things, like mothering cloak and monarch wings, but then also get things more out of your way, like getting and not using the elegant, shopkeepers, and 1 simple key. In the end you’d probably need a rancid egg, and the delicate flower at the end of the run. Could be a fun challenge to try!

You know I appreciate that regardless of how serious any of these situations gets, skurry never screams. They may yell in surprise or fear but They never clip the audio or get really REALLY loud. I appreciate the somewhat soft spoken vibe these videos have

This feels like a pirated hollow knight, you can’t attack left or right without charging it up, you have only 4 base hp, you have less than normal charm notches, and every good charm is 1 notch
I'd like to see a version of this where the enemies can have a random set of attacks, or a different AI. Like you might come across a vengefly that teleports and shoots projectiles or you might fight nightmare king grim and all he does is fly around in your general direction
what the hell would radience + dung defender look like, either a weird giant god or a floating dung defender with the attacks of a god

Man, unbreakable strength and quick slash for one notch each? That's fire. Those are probably the two charms I have equipped more than any others. If only you had Mark of Pride(or dare I say, MoP _and_ longnail) for one charm notch each, that would be like my dream build for only 4 charms. That's actually the build I use for just walking around when I'm close to the end, so to get all that for only 4 notches would be crazy. Add in soul eater that you got for two, and shaman stone(I haven't seen you get that yet, and the video is almost over, so let's say three the normal three notches), and you've still got two notches left(assuming we include the notch from Grimm), so maybe spell twister? That's fucking fire. So much fucking soul, so much reach, and the ability to use a shit ton of powerful spells, and you'd be damn near impossible, especially in the pantheons(well, you pretty much are unstoppable already, but you know what I mean.)
I really wish I had a decent PC to play this on(at the moment I only have a very shitty, ridiculously slow laptop, so I play on switch.) The randomizer looks super fun, as do all the other mods. I'd also like to try the gun mod, as well as trying a run with all the movements, spells, nail upgrades, charms, notches(or even better, infinite notches, or all charms costing zero notches), etc. available right from the start. I feel like that would be very interesting. Then again, it kind of takes away the fun of getting more powerful, more abilities, being able reach new places, do more things, etc.(you know, being like...an actual metroidvania.)

Skurry getting good luck after saving the grub makes sense to Hollow Knight lore, because I remember reading (fact check me if I am wrong) that when thankful, grubs sing songs of gratitude that can bless their owners with their invigorating powers. So I suppose you could say the grub was so thankful for you freeing it, it used it's songs to bless you.

Getting 39 grubs in a rando is kinda crazy. My record is probably like 43 in a room rando, but I had kept playing after I had beaten it just for the fun of it
I also reached an insane ammount of grubs one time, for the same reason.
