Bought my 2020 Fat Bob from Boswell's, great dealer, they have an awesome diner worth checking out as well. Their pricing was also better than any dealer in Kentucky so I brought my trailer with me.
The Boswell's are good folks, & have the best reputation in mid-Tenn H-D dealers. If/when I can get my finances together, they're getting my business.

ABSOLUTELY invite Mr. Boswell to a Zoom interview! Owner/Operator status for a family-owned dealership for the past 3/4 of a century is a true find! It would be wonderful to hear his perspective on the changes he has seen, and maybe include some photos of days past? Also, how does he perceive the direction of the HD brand as we continue into the 21st century.
PS: As a former fire service instructor, I cannot tell you how many times I’ve used the phrase “I don’t want perfection. I need to see IMPROVEMENT.” This is true of any skill you are trying to acquire. Keep up the great work, Motorman. And Happy Easter to the Palladino Household!

Love your videos and will be taking a RLP course in the near future (needs to warm up a little here in New England). One comment re: trailer safety chains: Cross them. This creates a cradle to catch the tongue so the trailer can't pitchpole. Ride Safe.

My Wife took the RLP course when it was offered in Waldorf MD, I also paid for it to be a private lesson although I think it would have been a little better, as great as she did, if it would have been in a group setting so she could have watched the other riders due each exercise between her own and also it would allow the clutch to cool down a little as well.
She did fantastic and the Ride Like a Pro Course should be MANDATORY in addition to the MSF Course!
And I mean it should truly be MANDATED!!!!!
In my overly long life I have learned that Government mandates are the solution to nothing. Motorcycles are not for stupid people and it's Darwinian that owning one helps thin out the herd. Odd that you don't seem to feel that Government mandating that cagers get their heads out of their butts isn't a worthy undertaking. Since you are so keen on tyrannical mandates issued by dimwits, slap on that obedience mask and motor on down the road. If you wear one 7x24 you will live forever.

Oh man I wish I could take your Motorcycle course. Unfortunately I’m a bit too far away. I’m planning on taking a course in my area next summer along with my daughter. We both have bikes but neither of us have a license. Anyways cheers!!

The interview was interesting I would like to here more. I watch about all your videos I'm checking to see where the closest school will be. I getting up in age I would like get sharper my skills.
Talking about Betsy's tendon issue in her left hand - I won't pretend to be an expert, but she could maybe compensate for that with a little more rear brake to offset the throttle. Whatever you told her to do, it obviously worked because she was riding a lot better with your help.
I'd like to see a longer interview with Bubba. I'd be interested to hear what a dealer thinks about those little Chinese Harleys. I'm not a fan of them, but then again, I doubt HD is planning to market those bikes to their traditional audience.

When I was 18 in early 90’s, my bike instructor said, you look the bike follows.
Also, always place yourself in the field of view of car drivers and have the low beam on all the time.

Awesome ! I am about her size and struggle with the uturns I have the technique I understand and practice however I sometimes feel I cant turn the handle bars far enough. She mentioned when you asked her what she did write some thing about pulling her arm in and I was thinking do you mean when you were turning the handlebars to physically think about pulling the arm in towards your own body I’m wondering if I am keeping my arm to straight
I had an AMF Sportster. I rode a lot of miles on it and the only problem I had was the starter solenoid always going bad. I rode into Sonny Barger HD once to pick up a spare and one of the parts guys came over and quietly said, "You do know this is a FoMoCo part don't you?" He said, we sell them for $18 but you can get one at the auto parts store for $9.
I hope riders who read this post understand that charging double or more for parts & services IS formula for success. The typical franchise motorcycle dealer does not have nearly the volume of business as a franchise auto dealer but may have nearly the same overhead.
I really want to come out and take one of your classes soon. I've got about 6k miles under my belt since August of 22 and I'm ready to fine-tune some skills!
Set up 6 markers in a straight line at 14 ft apart. When you can weave thru them while in the friction zone, without running them over, you are ready for the class.

OK, I follow Motorman and really like him. But here's something I'm trying that's really helped me in 'turning my head' and eyes. Two things: One local guy gave me a tip to find a parking lot with a light pole and use that light pole as a focal point and make 360's around that light pole. It's helped 'some'. Then I've notice that experienced performance riders are kinda looking down at the ground when doing 360's. While I was practicing 360's in a small cul de sac, I noticed one of those 6" water access manhole covers and started using that as a focal point...and it really helped additionally! It's helped me to relax more and even getting me to shift my weight to the outside, for some weird reason, (maybe because I'm more comfortable making the 360). So instead of simply turning my head and eyes and staring out into infinite space, and struggling with tight turns, by looking at a much closer focal point just makes me more comfortable doing a tighter turn. I don't know whether that's right...or a bad training habit to get into?
Looking down at the ground will eventually drive you into the ground.

You should ride your motorcycle up to Nashville and interview him in person. His wife came down to go to your school, now you can go up and see their dealership.

You can get some sort of easy-pull clutch assist mod, right? I guess they would know if they own a dealership. I'm just curious about how well those sorts of things work.
I grew up on 2 wheels but there's still a difference between big dirt bikes. Riding is easy, low speed ain't very hard either for me.. What id like to learn or get tip for are emergency maneuvers

Actually your instincts are correct, everybody learned to ride a bike, at the moment they were able to keep balance they knew exactly how to maneuver it
Now we get to motorcycles and start thinking everything is different, and it's become.........
Like golf, think this think that think think think think......but above all else relax.......give a kid a golf club and ball and watch them go smack it around without a lesson

In the early 60's, when I started riding, most Harley dealerships were small, usually family run operations. Typically a repair shop that happened to also sell Harleys. Not many like that left anymore. Most of these McDealerships are owned and run by people who have no understanding of the motorcycle lifestyle or their core customer. Greed motivated polyester suits reaching into your back pocket, essentially. Glad to see that Nashville has one of the last remaining family dealerships to patronize.

It's GO or GROW! And the trend for the AMF control of H-D was heading towards going out of business. Kudos to the "polyester suits" who saw an opportunity to grow the brand by bolstering & expanding their dealer network. Mind you that this was at a time when British were closing their industry. Not to mention that the U.S. auto industry was still mired in the malaise era.

with all the understanding that it's HD video of dealership owners that are all Americana branded and all but because of the hand situation I would suggest Betsy needs to buy honda rebel dct 1100 or Piaggio mp3 - no clutch all automatic . no stress on the hand . low motorcycle and she will enjoy it . GO BETSY! Thats not saying these bikes are better - they are just without clutch so pls don't shoot.

The goal of beginner courses is to turn out beginner riders. The goal at my Ride Like a Pro course is to turn out professional riders. I give them the tools, show them how to use the tools for maximum effect, and the rest is up to them. I've had dozens of riders from Europe come to my class after having jumped thru all the hoops in Europe to get their full M license and their lack of skills is the same as American riders who went thru the 2 day beginner course here in the U.S..
