Well I'm receiving my Philips PCA 060 next week. I hope mine works OK ahah.
I've made a few prints just by eye so far and I'm pretty happy with the results. But it takes so much time and test strips, I hope the color analyser helps with that.
Trying to get my hand on a test printer as I feel it will work fine for me.

Good luck, I think it's mostly depends on the condition of the thing and how it was stored 👍

Hello Alek! Thanks foe your videos, I have buy everything for color dev. In my darkroom but didn’t try yer bc i wanted a color analiser first, I get one (the only color analiser i found in Argentina) and it turns out it doesn’t work 😅 well I don’t really know if it works or not, its a JoboMatic 4020 and the machine seems to work bc all the lights go on but when I attach the measuring probe into the enlarging lens, nothing happens, the Y M or C light in some point has to go out while I move the knobs but nothing happens, the machine seems to be all good but Idk what can be the problem. I see that there is a lot of fongus in the glass of the measuring prob, maybe that’s has the problem that I don’t get any readings? If you know something about this type of analiser it will be very helpful for me since I didn’t find anything on internet about it and since im from Argentina, I didn’t see any other analiser here for sell.

Wow, thx for kind words. If you see fungus or something like that it means probably it’s dead, so this is kinda why o work on the color calibrator 🤔 My suggestion for now just stick with the test printint

I have bought a lici colorstar tricolor analyzer, i really enjoy using it. The linear potentiometers needed some cleaning but after that worked great. It does all colours in a single measurement so its quite intuitive to use. Biggest problem i currently have is that small black and white prints i cant get the timer to go high enough but thats probably easy to calibrate for if i figure out its manual. Have only printed with it once now!

I bought a Philips PCA 060 on eBay a few weeks ago, tried it out. It didn't really work too well, seems like on the yellow channel the motor in the sensor wouldn't work. I noticed the sensor was super erratic when you moved it. Took the sensor apart, the wires from the cable to it are super thin so I cut the cable completely off and very carefully completely rewired it. To do that means taking it completely apart, there are quite a few different colored wires so make sure to take pics of where what wire goes where before removing them. I used braided copper ribbon to soak up the old solder. Next, there is a color wheel with a red, green, and blue filter, the blue filter was hazed (intentionally?) To remove the circuit board you have to remove that wheel first which involves pulling a pin out of the center of the color filter gear with needle nose pliers. The blue filter was hazed on both sides so I cleaned it off (not sure if the haze was meant to be there but I cleaned it off regardless). Put it all back together and now the thing works pretty well. Don't do this unless you are handy with a soldering iron and know how to remove old solder. I was ready to junk the thing but thought I'd give it a rewire and that did work for me, but it would be quite easy to screw up so be careful and you may have success.
