- Shawarma is now quite a common dish to be sold and consumed in India but do you know which was the first restaurant to introduce this heavenly dish in the Indian market.
Well, it was none other than Al Bake that is in New Friends Colony, Delhi. Mr M.Z. Beg himself told us the secret behind the success of Al Bake's Chicken Shawarma, poured some light over his story of being in Saudi Arabia for over 20 years and later bringing the taste of its authentic Chicken Shawarma to India but with an Indianized twist.
In this episode, I am not just even trying Chicken Shawarma but even getting my hands on some of their best selling dishes like Tandoori Chicken and Dhaba Chicken.

I used to go there every 1 or 2 month just to eat chicken Shawarma, it is still my favorite dish from Al bake. I shifted from new friends colony to Faridabad but whenever I go to New friends colony I always visit Al bake just to eat chicken shawarma! The best dish I ever have.

This shop is more than 20 years old. I had eaten in it when i was in college and that was around more than 17 years ago.
The best shwarma is in East Delhi, Geeta Colony. Sardar ji Shwarma, near Geeta Colony police Station. you will forget Al Bake. Chicken Ham sandwitch is another delicious delicacies from Sardar ji Shwarma. Visit once in your lifetime.

Chicken shwarma at concept , defence colony is alot better than albake. I have eaten both. No competition between the 2 concept is alot more delicious.

The owners, I mean uncle and aunt know mr very well personally. We used to visit 11 years back while they were only operating from their first shop. Now the quality has completely deteriorated as they concentrate on to quantity ( large number of people in short time) rather concentrating on quality. The best shawarma's I enjoyed personally was made by uncle (the owner) himself. Rest, many a people wouldn't actually know the real taste of Shawarma coz it's totally commercialized now.
