... "I just drove a piece of time, a beautiful piece of steel that's very classy, engineer into today's standards"... yes, sir! Those are the words to describe riding a Bonnie, (mine is the same model, same year, same colours, same sound)...
I was looking for a classic old school bike and I settled on the 2014 Triumph Bonneville T-100. I love the bike it's exactly what I was looking for but there are a few things that need to be improved from Triumph 1.) The stock shocks will kill your back with every bump 2). The front fork springs are very stiff as well 3.) Which is the worst is the EFI at low speeds it pops and jerks frankly it should have never come that way especially from Triumph. Can't wait for my warranty to lapse so I can remove the AIS (Air Injection System). Otherwise it's a bike I will keep and ride for as long as my body can handle it.
Own the thruxton its fun yes feels light responsive all day comfortable. Little breezy at highway speeds my last 30 years bikes had windshields but I have aways avoided freeways enjoy two lanes. But an hour on freeway is no problem. Triumph makes a premium quality machine.
It feels like a sportster because Sportsters were created to compete with British motorcycles. Early models Pre '72s even had British ergonomic controls. Right side shift.
WANT ONE!!! what year did they stop making them in england?? 05 or 06?? REEEEEEALLY want to get one soon whlie they are still going cheap in uk. going back to usa in 2015 and the carbed made in england model is like gold dust there. .i love all models but the thai one with fuel injection and plastic tank badges etc looks too cheap n nasty to have the bonneville name!!!
07, I believe, Truth. I've just taken delivery of an injection model, tho was sorely tempted by the carb version. However, after reading as many reviews as could find on the web, it does appear the injected model, in standard set up, addresses the need of more performance that , arguably ,the early bikes rather lacked. Can you tune those carbs more easily tho to produce extra goodies? . But hey, you wrote four years ago..! did you find the dream bike and are still riding it today?? Let us know !
Great bike I've got the 790 it's awesome
