I'm totally with you on that. The price tag for the Mavic 3 was bit out of my price range so I was torn between the Air2s and the Mini3 pro with the new rc. I decided to go for the latter just because I had heard they were bringing out a cheaper Mavic 3. I wonder if they will still do a Air3
The problem with mini 3 pro is it’s very delicate and useless in heavy winds.
I really hope by next quarter they do air 3 and that will be totally a different monster.
Omni direction sensor, vertical shooting and easy to carry.
@@rajeshkrishnan9255 I don't agree with that, I've had the Mini 3 Pro in some ridiculous winds and it held perfectly, mind you, same with the Mini 2, I've had that at 3200m in winds that were hard to stand in, and it held its own. The Mavic 3 powers through the winds in a more aggressive manner, but holds just as well as the Mini 3 in my experience when it comes to smoothness of footage.

The only important missing information missing on this video: NO LIVE STREAMING when paired with the DJI RC Controller. Whatsoever. Nope. Nada.
Which is a shame when we realize that even the Mavic Air 1 has Live Streaming.
Yeah I feel you on the vertical mode. Would be an instant purchase if it was included in the Mavic 3 series.
It's a shame it wasn't implemented, but I'm also sure there are reasons they weren't able to fit it in. Next time.

Yeah hassleblad crap lens... with distortion. They still havent worked how to do Aspheric. Crap in my books.
In my books, it's a pretty damn incredible piece of technology. The camera and colour from Hasselblad (it's spelt Hasselblad) is actually very, very attractive. Oh yeah, Hasselblad is basically owned by DJI, them having the majority of stakes in the company. Having flown a drone or two in my life, this one is no doubt one of the finest out there. Please take some happy pills.

Still can't decide classic or the standard mavic 3 for an upgrade from mini2.
I'd go for the Classic, it's fantastic, I use the long lens maybe 1% of the time and then I have trouble matching it to the Hasselblad lens. Unless you really need such a long lens for a specific project go for the Classic. If you need a link you know where to find it (in the description) 🤜🏻🤛🏻

Cruise control, I'm totally in love with that feature. Any move I want to pull off now, I dial it in, tap C2 and sit back and relax. Night Mode really shocked me, I thought it would be a gimmick, but it saw things I didn't!
I just received mine today. Now it is battery charging time, then fly time.

It’s got quite a bit of power, but I got a Ducati Monster 750 as my first bike, which was fun and like being thrown into the deep end, so yeah, I’d go for it!
Phil what are the lowest temperature and highest DJI recommends flying their drones??
It depends on the drone, but I've had all of them to -25C and it flew with zero problems. The main thing is to keep the battery warm before flying, so keep it next to your body, let the drone hover for a minute to warm it up and off you go.
Forget about the drown I need to move to EU.. Disappointed to have missed the chance to meet you while you passed through MSP! Total man crush geek out session :D

Thanks Philip! You answered something nagging that I hadn't seen covered on any other channels yet. That is, the "drivability" difference between the Mavic 3 vs the 2 Pro. Despite all the new features, what you mentioned about taking your Mavic 2 Pro back up and feeling uncomfortable in it. That says a lot. I've only flown the DJI Mini Pro 3 so far, and I want a Mavic 3 Classic. One thing is I don't have anything to unlearn from previous generations.
I went through this recently with GoPro. I bought a Hero 3 in 2014 and used it maybe few times, but put it away and moved on to other things. I bought a 10 this year, experienced the good, bad and ugly of the 10, and was able to return it and get an 11.
On top of all of that, the non-backwards capability of the controllers really means that everything moves forward with Air 2S, Mini 3 and Mavic 3. To me, THIS would be the time not to buy a Mavic 2, even though there are some amazing deals out there.
Yes, even my Mavic 2 Pro is now on sale for a good price, but I couldn’t go back to flying it after using the Mavic 3, it’s just night and day in my opinion, especially in how it flies, the precision and at the same time the smoothness. DJI did a fantastic job in terms of evolution, I say pick up the Mavic 3 Classic if you’re in the market for a drone, you’ll love it!

I have been watching videos on the mini 3 pro and now classic 3 for 3+ weeks. I have seen tons on tons of videos. tonight I spent $2,158.61 on my classic 3. watching this video waiting to get mine shipped has chills through my whole body, and nothing will bring me more joy then going to make content with this amazing drone. your video is the best I have seen out of over 100 hands down ! thank you !

Can you still fly in the EU? Is is still classified as a C1 drone? I read somewhere they changed their mind and after January it is now a class A or something.
It has a C1 label on it, hell, I got a C1 label for my original Mavic 3 too, I guess I can fly it, if not, I'll pretend I didn't hear any of that lol.

I wanted to get one of this just because of the camera but you said it & that is why I am not purchasing this due to the camera did not have vertical mode as you mention its a miss. Will wait out who know there will be a version that have it.
Yes, it's shame they didn't re-design it for vertical mode, however I wouldn't hold out for a Mavic 4 just yet, and considering this is a Class 1 drone, it will be easy to re-sell if a Mavic 4 does come out in the future. For me, it's a fantastic drone, and I add video sideways on Instagram, just to keep video mode in horizontal, like it should be lol.
Random question, I assume the Mavic 3 ND filters do not work on the Mavic 3 Classic right?

Hey Phillip, what are your thoughts on the D-Log ISO range on this drone?
They’ve bumped it up to 1600 on D-Log and I’ve found it to be very nice Bruno, however I do what I can to keep it at 400.
@@PhillipSkraba oh okay, firmware update I guess. The thing is.. the D-Log ISO range on the AIR2S starts in 100 up to 1600. Forgot to mention that on my initial comment. What do you think about that? Isn't it weird?
Excellent video - thanks for clearing up so many uncertainties in my mind. For nearly 3 months I've been hovering around the Mavic 3, tempted by it's many excellent features but disappointed that like the Mini 3 it can't be supported by Litchi unless DJI release a full SDK. Also unsure whether I needed the Mavic 3 Pro camera and zoom, but now after your excellent video I'm happy to go for the Classic. One question - if I go for the RC-N1 setup with a smartphone and the Go Fly app will I still have all the same Go Fly facilities that are with the RC controller? Thanks again Phillip.

As an avid flight simulator enthusiast with a passion for studying Boeing and Airbus flight deck protocol, your description of the Mavic 3's ability to hold a turning radius while cruising at a preset speed reminds me a lot of the way Airbus aircraft will hold a standard rate 20-degree turning bank angle until the pilot nudges the joystick back to resume level flight.
In a year from now when the Mavic 3 depreciates into a price range that is affordable to mere mortals like me, I will most certainly acquire one to augment my fleet of older DJI drones. For me, one of the biggest selling points of the Mavic 3 is that it can be configured to continue waypoint flight plans with full autonomy even if the RC controller loses signal connectivity with the drone, thanks to the onboard storage of waypoint GPS data in the Mavic 3 family of drones.

Considering the tele lens on the standard Mavic 3 is pretty much unusable, this seems like the smart buy.
The Classic is still using a Hasselblad camera?
I like the long lens, it’s a great idea, I just wish it was a 4/3 sensor too, so yeah, the Classic is a great buy, and yes it uses Hasselblad science like it’s original.
Every DJI drone has some unique features.. no flagship which has everything. That’s a problem. Can’t keep upgrading every year. I don’t think the Mavic 3 classic is the successor to the Air 2S. Still too heavy and expensive. I think 600 gm is the sweet spot.
I've never been a fan of the Air series. The Mini is great as it packs super light, but if I have to carry something anyway I'd prefer to take the Mavic 3 due to its vastly larger sensor.

It basically gives you a ton of flexibility for sub 900g drones, do a Google search for more info, it’s good news though.
I have watched several videos about it, but none of them are as good as yours, especially the scenery and the clouds really nice

Oh gosh, not at all! The features the cine offers are great, but I think they are more catered to the Inspire user than the Mavic user. I am very happy with both the Mavic 3 and the Mavic 3 Classic.

Great review as always - recognised many of these locations as I was flying at Lago di Landro & Cortina in the Dolomites myself just before the Mavic 3 dropped in 2021. How many batteries are you rocking these days for your Mavic 3 series drones? Up to 6x myself which makes a world of difference.
It’s stunning out there, right?! I have 4 batteries. I bought the Mavic 3 myself when it dropped, but since then DJI jumped on my wagon and so now I have more thanks to them. 6 would be perfect though as I’m constantly running low.

Who makes the folding RC cover visible at 4:43? It's even better than the Pgytech one I have as this one works like a sun shade as well.

Also question, does Mavic 3 do not sync the photos with the phone? I see only videos being synced while flying, and I don't see the option to make it sync the photos too. Or maybe its something wrong with my app?
In theory it should do if you have syncing turned on.
@@PhillipSkraba The problem is I don't see that option anymore, I had it on my Mini 2 but it is not there on Mavic 3. Might be something wrong with the app.

Im glad i didnt get the M3 when it came out. Didnt seem like a huge upgrade to my M2P and i have no need for a zoom which doesnt provide good quality anyway. This seems like a perfect step up and a more reasonable price to the M3 👌🏻

That sounds like a very good plan! The Mini 2 is excellent.
The solution for vertical in the classic would've been a square sensor so rather than rotate the camera, just swap what part of the sensor is used.
Might've bumped the price up too much though.
Much like the GoPro 11 in a way, yep, would have been an interesting approach.

I think so, I don’t see a place for the Air series between the Mini Pro and Mavic lineup. Maybe DJI will pull something out of the bag, but I can’t imagine what.

Hello! Could you answer, does DJI solved those issues in M3 Classic? 1) Longtime satellites search, upto 2 min each flight, and GLONASS not used again 2) Raw (DNG) photos have black corners as used lens dont cover full sensor area 3) Flickering while hyperlapse, even in full manual settings (WB, shutter etc.)
Honestly I haven’t had any of those problems, and the satellites problem was fixed ages ago on the original M3 with an update.
I bought M3 classic 2 weeks ago and got big trouble about GPS signal! Damnnn

@@techdata_channel a couple of weeks ago, I bought it and update the newest firmware immediately. I hoped the GPS signal trouble was solved, but NO, it's still there, I have to waited more 20 mins to get enough signal satellites! That's insane! Imma return that and go for Avata!

@@PhillipSkraba Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll honestly probably get one soon enough, but the quietness of the mini 3 pro and remote id issue pushed me to get that instead.
I live in the city and plan to fly from my home. The last thing I want is a relatively noisy drone angering a crazy person who can then find out where I live. An absolutely insane and dangerous law.
The Mini 3 Pro is an excellent, excellent drone, so I'm sure you'll be very happy with it, I sure am! Flying in the city, it no doubt is the best choice. Yes, I also do what I can not to anger crazy people with my drone, good call.
@@PhillipSkraba Well I've got to say, you're right. I was still a little skeptical of what that image sensor could do, but wow. Not that it's anything special, but I threw a clip from my first flight up on my channel. I can't tell you how pleasantly surprised I am.
No regrets at all, looks like fantastic first drone and travel drone.
@@derp195 wait until you have to change the propellers on that mini 3 pro. I got one and returned it. At least one of the screws strip and even had a screw head break off inside the thread hole which caused me to have to replace the whole arm.
