    I used to have the Dji mini and last year upgraded (or side stepped) to an avata. To be honest I miss the cinematic shots, they are very different drones. A friend came up to visit us last week and brought his dji 3 classic. I was so super impressed and I really want one. How do I convince the wife… she said I could if I sold the avata but with the avata 2 just coming out I don’t want to take a massive hit on it price wise. Any advice? 😂

    About getting round the restrictions on the Mavic 3 in Britain. Instead of the A2 Certificate you might consider using Article 16 Authorisation. It is available to members of any of the four drone clubs recognised by the CAA. There is no test to pass, beyond what is needed for the Flyer ID, and it gives the pilot freedom to fly within 30 metres in a direct line, not necessarily horizontally, of uninvolved people. In other words the avoidance zone round a person is a bubble of radius 30 m, rather than a cylinder extending upwards indefinitely; and so if you fly higher than 100 feet you need not fret over whether there are nearby people on the ground, as they will be more than 30 metres away. The relevant document published by FPV-UK, one of the recognised clubs, runs to 15 pages, and if printed off and presented as a pilot's warrant for claiming Article 16 Authorisation it has a daunting look, and would probably deter most police officers from even quibbling.

    • @lewiskelly14
      @lewiskelly14 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, great info, thank you. The CAA website is shit and implies ALL drones can never fly over anyone not involved which is stupid
      What are the other 3 drone clubs?

    • @uranoscopist6090
      @uranoscopist6090 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@lewiskelly14 The other three are SAA (Scottish Aeromodellers Assn), BMFA (British Model Flying Assn), and LMA (Large Model Assn).
      By the way, I think I am right in saying that even with Article 16 on your side you are not supposed to fly over people on purpose, or over crowds at all; but if when you go about your drone business you happen to pass over folk at 30 metres (100 feet) or higher that is ok.
      A good TH-cam channel for learning about the changing drone laws and the CAA's follies is Geeksvana.

    I have the Mavic 3 classic since few days (France). I chose it for its outstanding main sensor size which allows a high dynamic range and I can say I love the shots and the colours it gives even thought I still have to get used to the drone and to the video/photo modes and their subtleties. I have 2 spare batteries because no way to fly 47 minutes! not even 40 min, I would say between 35 and 38 minutes at most but I am not really bothered since I have 3 batteries for this beast and I count 30 min for each battery. I am trying to remember which settings I should modify in order to prevent the camera to constantly change the brightness of the photos (especially when there is a bright sky, should I set white balance set on manual?). Maybe you can give me the hint for that? Anyway thanks for your video.

    Thanks for the review of all the Mavic 3 Classic’s wonderful features. I have delayed making the purchase for another two months as I want to see if an Air 3 is coming. Also, it is unfortunate that regulators of air space all over the world make decisions for drone pilots without first hand knowledge of how, where, and when the drones are flown. They often make knee jerk decisions based upon actions of isolated bad actors. I always enjoy and look forward to your content. Keep up the good work and cheers from Wisconsin, USA.

      @@uranoscopist6090 You guys in the UK may be getting the EU stock drones that have the label on. I assumed that mine here in Oz would be C1 marked but no. On checking with DJI they would not send me a label and the online application via Fly app will only work if the drone sees itself in Europe. This is all despite DJI promising all Mavic 3 class drone getting the C1 label by end of last year. Its only a problem as I am travelling in Europe soon, but DJI overall have not been helpful. One of their support people have been great but little success so far.

    I bought my 3 classic upon release, I didn’t buy the first release of the Mavic 3 (dual camera) as it was simply too expensive , especially considering the price of the very first Mavic pro (1).
    DJI out priced themselves with the original Mavic three and didn’t sell enough to make it hugely profitable for them.
    I think the classic is a wise move by them to make a cheaper product that will sell in higher numbers than the previous version plus the few modifications to take advantage of the legislations.
    And yes I agree with you, what we’re the U.K. CAA thinking (or rather “not thinking!!”)
    A big disappointment!!!😫🤬🤬💩💩💩

    Hey Darren - hoping you can shed light on something for me. Thanks for taking the time to upload your video and sharing this info - however slightly uncertain and would appreciate your feedback. My Mavic 3 Classic arrived today in the UK, and while there is a label on the arm, it only shows UK CA (in smallish letters) with big CE lettering.....no number 1 to be seen anywhere. I was on the understanding with having my A2cof licence, I would likely only be allowed to fly this in the UK similar to my previous Air 2s - until fingers crossed things got sorted in the UK - however thought if going outside the UK I could fly this in the same places as my Mini 3 Pro with no real distance restrictions to worry about.....but is this possible with no class 1 sticker on the arm? Any thoughts on this please.

Not following on from EASA rules a few weeks AFTER the C1 Mavic Classic was released was a complete and utter F joke and a kick in the balls! (Even Geeksvanna tried to pull the answer out of them)They don’t have a clue, yet we are all paying £10 a year for a desktop computer to auto send out an operator ID, they are raking in millions from us hobbyists! They need to get their finger out their arse and release the rules sooner rather than later. This hobby is dead in the water if they set the rules by weight, and I’ll be looking for a new hobby.

      @@DMProductions 😂 Can I come with you! Honestly mate, they have royally messed this up! All because they now have the “power” and option to do so! There was absolutely nothing wrong with following on from EASA until 2026, then release the new rules then. The CAA is getting as bad as the UK government #corruption

      If you register and get certified can you fly the M3C in the same way you can fly the mini pro 3?

    • @Lee-zg3gx
      @Lee-zg3gx ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamesnelson2279Nope, not in the UK, Mini 3 / Pro allows you to fly in less restricted areas. The CAA / DofT well and truly screwed us all M3C owners over!

    They are placing all kinds of restrictions on drones in the U.S. as well. Governments are afraid of drone technology in the hands of citizens. Of course, we might catch them doing something they are not supposed to be doing.

    I was blown away by the excellent reviews on the Mavic 3 classic, and decided to buy it expecting that it will be far superior to the mini 2. To my nasty disappointment it cannot even zoom in photo mode. Very disappointed!
