Shuhua already broke her "promise" not to dye her hair, she is currently blonde for the nxde era and I think it was the best decision, that color looks beautiful on her
She didn't 'break a promise', but rather for this, comrpomised for the sake of the message of their music. soyeon carefully asked her a couple of times about her for the concept of marilyn monroe on nxde. When shuhua finally agreed after long consideration, minnie cried, because shuhua had never done that before and she always states that she loves her organic self the most. Shuhua said she agreed because te cocnept aligned with her mindset.
She doesn't change her hair often because she has a sensitive scalp & it gets irritated easily. I can't imagine how irritating it was to bleach her hair for/during "Nxde" era. However Boss Baby committed to it & she slayed it.
22:28 He was actually praising Soyeon since she is good at rapping and singing. That clip was form produce 101 and she was mainly a rapper during the program that’s why the guy said that if she, a rapper, is good at singing, what makes the other trainee who can’t even sing.
theres also this stigma that some idol rappers become rappers because they have no singing ability. its not like that anymore but i rmb in the past some idol rappers were judged bc of this thought and also the fact they didnt write their own verses. i dont keep up with many 4th gen groups, but i think it is different now

something i think is important to also know about gidle is the fact that soyeon didn't let the members take vocal lessons from an average idol vocal coach. those coaches tend to focus solely on higher notes, and soyeon found that that type of training ruined a person's unique and individual tone. she found a vocal coach who taught vocal lessons while also keeping a person's vocal uniqueness. hence why soyeon, yuqi, and minnie have their unique voices and will continue to have them!
i think it's very cool how involved soyeon is in the process and also how gidle is defying idol expectations even in the smaller things like unique tonal voices.
YEsssss pls react to their solos, it will so clearly show you exactly who the members are, and I can assure this will get you views because most of these videos are fan favorites with a heck lot of views.

(while this is not Minnie's solo, the video has over 4 million views, the most views on the channel and went viral for her singing, this was the snippet of her you saw in the guide video. It's absolutely amazing, so I really really recommend this the most)
The best guide to the girls' backstory is The Rise of (G)I-DLE. It is highly recommended that you watch to understand more about them. Amazing react, as always! ;)

20:55 fun fact: this was "unpretty rapstar" a show where rappers compete in diss battles, soyeon was the youngest contestant (17 yrs old) and she was against senior rappers. in this specific diss battle she made her opponent (who is a senior) cry. also she won 4th place for the whole show as well iirc
there is a long fan-made documentary which i 100000% recommend. it’s called “The Rise of (G)I-dle - CUBE Entertainment’s Secret Weapon” which goes through in detail their journey as a group & all of the controversies, as well as basically a guide to them in the first 10-15 minutes. I would definitely watch it if you decide to get deeper into this group but I understand why some reactors don’t do it because of its length. But from what you said at the end about the information you wanted, it’s all in that video!
Note: The video does only go up to the release of HWAA & before Soojin’s departure; So it doesn’t mention TomBoy or Nxde.
35:00 it's true, if I'm not wrong started in 2nd gen and it became a "mark" to kpop so every time a group is doing a comeback the excitement to see the new hair color is a big deal to the fans lol
(G)I-DLE basically means "Girl idol(s)", based on what they introduce themselves in Korean.
According to Soyeon's explanation when they were rookies:
1. "I" as the personal pronoun "I"
2. "-dle" as a suffix in Korean indicates plural (sorry I don't really know Korean, it's just my understanding based on what Soyeon said)
Thus, "I"+"-dle" indicates the group is made up of 6 individuals (6 at the time).
Then the company wanted to add some twists to make the group distinguishable, I guess , so "(G)I-DLE" is what we got.
I believe the massage they were trying to deliver is that, every member in (G)I-DLE is so different, and they want to celebrate that. Everyone's unique character would be valued and also encouraged to shine in one's own way.
However, during Tomboy era, they began using "( )I-DLE" instead of the original "(G)I-DLE". I believe it's more understandable when seeing the lyrics in Tomboy goes like "It's neither man nor woman. Just me, I-DLE".

When you said "did she atleast become a soloist?" Made me sad coz I miss soojin so much. Unfortunately tho no she didn't go solo. She's no longer even in the industry. It tends to happen alot when "bullying allegations" happen. The idol(s) involved in these controversies become (in a sense) blacklisted for the entertainment industry. That said no one really knows what's shes been up to, but its safe to say she's probably working a normal part time job like everyone else.

Minnie; the performance you kept asking "what is this" was BE BE YOUR LOVE, which was one of the 4 songs she sang on Lee Mujin Service show. She was his very first guest so it's Episode #1 and it's a great show and performance. You should check out. Yuqi was also a guest on his show, sorry can't remember the eps #. Yes, I believe both GIANT and BONNIE & CLYDE are Yuqi's own songs. But she also does amazing covers of; EASY ON ME (Adele), RISE UP (Andra Day), SHALLOW (Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper), and BEGGIN (Maneskin). They are all worth reacting to.

A little dated, but my fave guide is "The Rise of I-DLE". It's a documentary and long, so probably not good for a stream, but its's very informative and entertaining.
Shuhua is dubbed a vocal chameleon because her voice sounds like a mixture of everyone else in the group. Sometimes when a song drops, we'll think that 'Oh this is Minnie's line' yet it'll turn out to be Shuhua's. For a long time though, she didn't get as much lines. It is due to various reasons- her being vocally underdeveloped, confidence problem ever since she was bashed for her korean pronunciation (this was on Hann era, their first comeback), and company decisions.

If you want to watch a video that covers how the group came to be and their journey ever since (up until early 2021) then I recommend you watch "The Rise of (G)I-DLE - Cube Entertainment's Secret Weapon" by Lovinsoojin. Fair warning: its a fan-made documentary and so it is of standard documentary duration too (~90 minutes)

7:32 his name is jonathan. he's the host of a show "k-star next door" I think? stray kids were on that show during maxident promotions (felix, changbin and minho) and it was fun to watch but some parts were a little uncomfortable for me personally (I just don't like heteronormativity I guess, especially coming from the host😑)

Shuhua is specifically gay for Soojin. The usual pairings go like this- YuYeon(Yuqi & Soyeon), MiMin(Minnie & Miyeon), and SooShu(Soojin & Shuhua).
