      Best piece of advice I can give, focus on 1 skill you want to learn that you believe can make you 6 figures and stick to it for 6-12 months. Give it all you got and don’t be distracted by shiny objects. This is exactly what I did, but it took me a few years to understand it, I got a few vids on my channel that might help the few of you asking how. Like I said self-education and discipline is what defines success in any business.

      A savings account is almost always low yield, the target inflation is 2% in the US. Anything in a savings account is literally going down in value. Also banks are only insured up to $250,000 so anything more than that in a bank account is just stupid.

      Well to add to your depression I’m a Mexican construction worker , when I came to the US they bumped me up ONE FULL YEAR in HS after taking a test, they said I had about 30% English (it’s taught In Mexican schools by default) and I was way ahead of American students in everything. Moreover I know Mexicans that have taken their kids back to Mexico and guess what , lo and behold it isn’t rare for a US student to be DEMOTED one full year because of underachieving...in fact I know two kids personally. The US education system is a joke... and college a huge scam. Now that said, my son is in college now to become a robotics engineer ... he was a math gifted student in Hs. I only agreed to him going to college because I don’t want him building houses like I do but I’m afraid of him not learning anything and struggling to get a job. We are paying cash for his college tho , to hell with those loans. Pray for us

    • @fisterhr
      @fisterhr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The problem begins in early public education for most of us that weren't born with a silver spoon in our mouth. By the time we "graduate" from high school, we should be way more prepared to tackle more advanced subjects in college but we are not. I once worked as a math tutor in a community college branch on a poor part of town. The majority of the people I helped couldn't even add positive and negative numbers...and they either graduated HS or got their GEDs to enter community college. What does that tell you? It tells you that most teachers from K-12 don't care.

    • @fisterhr
      @fisterhr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BeNice3525 Dave, I believe you 100%! When I was in middle school (in Texas) my cousins from Mexico used to laugh at the math homework I had when they used to come to visit. These cousins were many times younger than me. I didn't understand that for years especially since the USA is the richest country in the world and Mexico, without trying to be disrespectful, is no where near that. But I have a theory that I think its worth looking into. Tell me what you think. Many decades ago, public education in America was DELIBERATELY dumbed down. Why, because they didn't want too many prepared and qualified American citizens for corporations to have pay them good salaries and benefits. Instead, they preferred smarter foreigners who worked harder, worked longer hours, complained less and did it all for less pay. Same reason manufacturing was shipped over seas. The only thing I disagree with you Dave is what you said, "I don't want him building houses like I do". He is your son and have every right to wish for him to do this or that, but I ask you, what is wrong with building houses? Did you know that there are many immigrants, like yourself, that have prospered in this country and even become wealthy by working with their hands. You yourself just stated that you are paying cash for your son's college education. That tells me that you make more than the average college graduate. How many college graduates are in debt for being pushed by their high school counselors to go to college at any cost and pay off their loans once they graduate? Instead of telling some of them the truth, that they weren't college material, and encouraged them to study a trade instead? They misled them! I took wood shop and metal shop in middle school. By the time I got to High School, the only trade class was basic auto mechanics but shortly after I graduated, they did away with that too. So the new push was for American kids from public schools to go to college regardless if they could afford to do so or not, or worse, whether they qualified to go to school or not. The loans would take care of it. Look at this country now. I've been working for IT for a few years now, and though it pays ok, I don't think I want to do it forever. For one, they expect you to master more and more new technology that keeps changing by the minute but does not necessarily pay you more for it. Plus it isn't healthy to sit down for 10 hours behind a desk each day and going home too mentally tired to want to do anything else. I'm am actually in the process of practicing small drywall repair to make some money on the side and who knows, maybe starting a little business doing it. In construction, you get a workout while you are making money. And if you are smart, like you, you make a darn good living at it. The problem in this society Dave is that blue collar work, including working with your hands, was stigmatized and became unattractive to young students. That is why my dad, like you with your son, with a good intention in his heart, probably made a mistake in telling me to go to college and not do drywall like he did. He probably just went by Spanish TV campaign ads that encouraged Hispanics to go to college, or encourage their kids to do the same. So I say again, how did that turn out with the student loan crisis we face now in America?

I know when I do, the 130k in debt I owe will go away pretty quickly with the high salaries here. But still... I wish that 46k per year I payed helped me more. That said, college was the best decision I ever made. GL finding high paying jobs without a college degree (unless you can demonstrate something amazing).

      Rocket Boards I’m 19 with no college education and I just quit my job a couple of months ago working for a top producing real estate team earning 4-5k a month. College is a joke, I started a business and work half the hours and earn even more money from my business. I have a friend of mine that is 22 years old, absolutely no college education and he just quit his job making $80k a year for a better job making six figures. He has 0 college education. I’m 19, I will be making six figures in 2019. Don’t ever say “good luck finding a good job with out a degree”, that is quite funny. Most of the successful people I know don’t have college degrees. Typically the ones with college degrees are the ones struggling and stressing more than anyone I know. My previous boss, who owned the real estate brokerage makes several hundred thousand a year and he told me himself, “college isn’t what is important. The way you think is what will determine your success in life.” I could find a good paying within 2-3 weeks if I needed one. I would also apply to 70-80 jobs. You should be interviewing the company. They should be lucky to even have you working for them. They don’t teach the best way to think in college. They educate mentally, and that is it. I read regularly and my books only cost $10-20 a piece. It sounds to me like you didn’t make the best decision. If that is the best decision of your life, your kids are going to hate you when they become adults. Please don’t take offense, I’m only being honest. Im not someone to lie to you. You’re in control of your future. The decisions you make this year determines where you will be in life. You have it inside of you to be extremely successful financially if you choose to be. It’s your choice though, not your college degrees choice.

Plus sometimes you need to do hands on work or lab especially if youR an engineer and school provide you that resources. Leaning online is not the because back then we donT have internet in the 80 oR 90.

      How to solve the college debt and high tuition scam that colleges and government working together have played on the taxpayer and students. Democrats came up with this scam to make the government run student loan department paid for by taxpayers. IT'S TIME TO MAKE THE COLLEGES NOW WORTH BILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND ASSETS TAKE BACK THIS DEBT THE SCAMMED. IT'S TIME THE COLLEGES STOP THEIR SCAM AND LOWERED THEIR FAKE TUITION PRICES. They keep building huge buildings and after decades of yearly fake tuition raises are now worth billions of dollars.
      IT'S TIME STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS GO AFTER THE DEMOCRATS FOR CAUSING THIS JUST SO THEY COULD CONTROL COLLEGES, INFORMATION, STUDENTS, CURRICULUM, AND VOTES. Every year the colleges raised their tuition to the outrageous costs and now colleges are worth billions and all scammed by colleges, text book publishers, contractors and every one involved along with Democrat politicians. When anyone saw it would unnecessarily put students in great debt and then raised the objection to this high debt and overpriced tuition the Democrats screamed they were against education. The debt is now close to $2 Trillion dollars of debt held by the government student loan departments and will now bankrupt the country if not paid for. Students are shackled with tens of thousands of dollars of debt and can't pay it back nor can they buy a house with this extra debt on their shoulders. IT'S TIME TO MAKE THE COLLEGES who are NOW WORTH BILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND ASSETS AND THE DEMOCRAT PARTY THAT HELPED THEM TAKE BACK THIS DEBT THEY SCAMMED. IT'S TIME THE COLLEGES AND THE DEMOCRATS STOP THEIR SCAM AND LOWERED THEIR FAKE OVERPRICED TUITION AND FRAUDULENT INFLATED COSTS.
      IT'S TIME STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS GO AFTER THE DEMOCRATS FOR CAUSING THIS JUST SO THEY COULD CONTROL COLLEGES, INFORMATION, STUDENTS, CURRICULUM, AND VOTES. It will take four generations to pay this back unless the colleges are given this debt that they caused with the Democrats and their scam.Scream at every Democrat who made colleges inflate their fake tuition costs and bankrupt students, parents and families

When I got out, I figured my combination of education and experience (including Gulf War combat) would be enough to get "a foot in the door" somewhere. I figured wrong. I was magically transformed from "inexperienced college kid" to "overqualified veteran." 1. Make it illegal to require a degree for a job out side of medicine.
    2. Tax the University
    3. Set the limit on how much a university can charge students.
    4. Chage the recognition of degrees to be based on core class credits not overall credits earned. And make it illegal for university to force student to take non-core classes inorder to be qualified for higher core classes.

      Well u go to college to give urself in-depth knowledge n training. Like nuclear tech. Worst part is people r going to college hoping to find meaning to their future since all theyve done up til then is going to school.
      So if u're going to college n taking up a course but at the end of the course u dont build ur career on cutting-edge knowledge, then yeah its a waste of money. If u decide to become a plumber or car mechanic, is that mechanical degree worth it over what u can learn online? Its easy to say no looking back, but if ur degree gets u a job designing cars/ planes/ ballistics or country's infrastructure, is that degree worth it over "studying online"?
      That said USA's college fees r fucked up, my degree costed like....20k USD n i'm not paying my entire paychecks in debt every month.

      MidnightFlower13 you’re the idiot. The point of a lot of these comments about “self-learning” is to research and demonstrate knowledge on a particular area, which can be done outside the constructs of 100k in student debts and a piece of toilet paper you can hang on your wall. There is very little you learn in college that cannot be learned at a library or online for free. The point is, is that having a bachelor’s degree as the bare minimum is useless, because it doesn’t necessarily mean that person can actually apply the worthless memorization they learned in college. You learn through on the job experience, not in a class. The businesses are starting to find this out, and find that college students are just useless idiots without any critical thinking skills.

      I hear what u r saying that a degree coating 100k is a gamble in itself n I agree with that. As stated earlier, my point is that college don't just offer lectures tho, college is supposed to be the place to offer experience without hurting anyone. U can't self-study n build a Burj-Khalifa, or design a Tesla model S.
      U mentioned self-study to do business, u r absolutely right, u don't need a degree to have a stable job or start a business. In fact young entrepreneurs now r people who went to college for a science n maths degree AND self-study business.
      I would like to point out that in Germany n in Malaysia, we can get a decent degree without selling a kidney. It's only very cutting-edge courses or prestigious degrees that we need to go to the USA to use ur facilities or network with corporates.

    I’m 42. Never went to college because I saw 24 years ago what a joke it is. My friends are still paying off their debt. I must say some are doing well and the others don’t even work in the field they studied in but still owe the banks. Me am a mailman. I’m happy. I know I’ll never be rich but who cares. I never was raised with the mentality that money is the end all be all. The solution? I think. Tax the shit outta colleges and lower the tuition so that everyone has an opportunity to attend or start handing out massive full scholarships to people. I never understood how people get so gung ho over a college or college team. It’s like their raping you and your enjoying it. It’s a business like anything else. Biggest paying jobs in 10 years...... auto motive, Carpenter, plumber. Electrical engineer. All non college skills.

      @Kent Horvath- that is not true. wasn't it Bill Gates who dropped out of college. Lots of over educated ass holes who went to college who can't pour piss out of a boot with instructions on the heel. Lots of unemployed college people. I have seen a lot of them in my life time. I have nothing against education, but any one who can read a book and have no moral conscience can become ultra successful. Many of the CEO's of today have no conscience. Greed and power and big fat egos is what spurs most of these people to the top , if you really think it is the top. Actually it is the top of the manure pile. IN the end, it all means nothing, because death has a way of being the big equalizer. It is what you put in your heart on this journey of life that is the only thing you are going to take with you when you die. If you are an atheist then that is too bad for you. It is your eternity that you are throwing away.
