  • Okay! so my first ever video I decided to show you guys how to make cheese from spoil milk, so this should be of no surprise to you that I'm back with another spoil milk trick. And seeing Yogurt is already so expensive and my channel is about becoming self-sufficient, i thought you all would have found this to be very interesting as its such a quick simple and easy step that has very little chance of failure. So join me today as i show you how you can easily improve your gut health right from the comfort of your home using milk you would have trow out the back door!
Let's start with these simple ingredients
1/2 Gal Milk(fresh or Spoil, whole or low fat)
1/4 cup yogurt starter (can be bought in the grocery as plain yogurt)
Honey, fruits etc for flavors you wish to add.
A pot ( crock pot, slow cooker, instant pot)
The idea is to bring the milk to a boil 180 degrees is best temperature no higher and then reduce to 115-110. I don't use a thermometer because i have a fair idea of temperature testing on my hands as you would for a baby! Add the yogurt culture to the pot and let sit over night. When you wake in the morning you have a pot of breakfast just waiting to be served.
I even go further to make Greek yogurt by straining at least 3 times in a cheese cloth until the yogurt doesn't slide out and i reuse that for my new batch of yogurt.
Don't forget to leave me your comments so i can be encouraged to make you more videos like this .

Miss I want to say thank you for teaching me something new and so useful. Additionally, I have been having a rough few days and needed a smile on my face. I was really surprised and excited to see that it worked (I am a new cook). IDK where you're located but just remember that somewhere out there you made a difference for someone else. Thank you.

That milk is ultra pasteurised so it keeps for a very long time unopened, even outside the fridge.

It is what is known as long-life milk.

Yes you are right i do live on a farm however that milk was bought at Publix, and was left in the refrigerator past a month as we lived so far from a grocery store, we buy in bulk. Nonetheless, the results shouldn't affect you if you live in the city, but feel free to let me know if you still having challenges and we can work on a solution.

The good bacteria grows in warm temps and stops at cold temps. While warm the good bacteria grows inside the milk taking up the space and making it less watery

Suppose I only have flavored yogurt. And suppose it started to culture on its own should I still add yoghurt mix and let it sit to be ready?

Can i do that with spoiled yogurt and heated powdered milk?

    • @trini-bornamerican-made6594

Hi! You can use powdered milk heated with water however if your yogurt is spoilt you should throw it out because the activity is no longer there! You need the live bacterial culture to work on your milk!

what was the temperature of you milk? maybe it was too hot! you want to get it to 150-180 F, do not scorch the milk and allow it to cool naturally to about 80-100 F then add the yogurt for it to culture. let me know if this helped1

you need bacterial culture really and the easiest way to add it is through a little store bought product thats already available rather than waiting weeks or more with other risks. Hope this was helpful.
