- If you have ever wondered how to improve at osu this is the video for you. This video covers every aspect of improving in osu that I've learned over the years. Which has led to my top play of 714pp and nearly cracking into the top 1,000. I hope there is something in here that you will find valuable.

I was already 25 the day I downloaded this game, mr spring chicken
I am 25 and can sightread AR11. Not FC. But pass. You can do it too, probably. While Rank 1 might not be possible, I'm sure you can get good anyway
I figured I'd be coming back to this video so I made some timestamps for future reference, felt like sharing them (might be some inaccuracies but whatever).

This is so much information to take in at once, I'll definitely have to go and revisit this video once my wrist has healed. Thank you 🗿💜🗿
Come back as many times as you need. I also thought it might be a good idea to upload each section individually since it is a lot of info...

Thankyou for this video! Helped me a ton!
great video old chap. this is exactly the kind of advice I would give to people trying to improve. Couldn't have said it better
i’m a new osu player, watched this yesterday, tried playing with your tips and now my hand doesn’t hurt anymore & i played much better today! thanks!

Great video man! I learned so much :)
17:23 I actually had the same problem for the longest time, I picked up alternating so early that I never really learned to single tap.
Believe it or not I also started by playing with my middle and ring fingers...

Thanks a lot for your dedication and good stuff in the video, i will do my best!!!
referring to 4:20, Cookiezi actually used to change his area very frequently since he never could find a consistent and comfortable grip/area. I believe it is still how he does but I need to fact check that, its been a while.
Its true
i personally rly don't like these kind of videos but i found a lot of insight into how u talked abt bad handwriting and aim. my handwriting is awful and i hold my pen like i would normally and aim has always been a huge struggle, so i'll definitely think abt that
The new era. Im talking about things I have done, and will be doing in the future in order to improve. And how others can hopefully take something away from it. Im not barking orders at people telling them, “this is the way you improve and i dont care if you think im wrong.” Everyone improves at their own pace and in their own way. Im glad you were able to find something valuable. Ill also say that its important to realize your hand certain muscles in your forearm that support it. So try to use your arms sitting position in your consideration. Could also be your posture, the way you sit if its too low or too high. Many different factors. I hope you become an aim demon.
it helps alot. thank you so much. i subbed
i come to this kind of videos regularly, because i feel lost and dont know what to do or if im doing the right thing to improve in osu. I feel stuck, and tend to compare myself to others. Which is kind of stupid because it is time i spend feeling lost or complain that i could spend to actually play osu and improve. I just want to say thank you for making this Video!
Hey man, I´m from Brazil, thank y for help people implove in Osu!, the players from Brazil that make videos of "How to improve in Osu!" have a low qualidade, your video is excelente in my oponion. :) Thank you
thank you otaviocordova6035, your comment made me smile
this is a crazy good video
Thank you Bubb1es727
As you get better with mouse you will eventually get better at dealing with mouse drift, if you tough it out and play more eventually you will notice you can deal with mouse drift better or just get less mouse drift
thx this is gonna help me get to my dreams at 3 digits
Im finally improving again lol. I figured out what was preventing me from doing so, that is i was autopiloting everything. Now i instead focus on every note (or every other on fast maps)
Cant wait to see a new top player rise up
i didn't even take into consideration for stamina. I usually just opened osu! and I didn't really like the normal jump map songs and the alt map songs were hit and miss for me. So, I spammed metal maps and they were coincidentally mostly death stream maps or burst maps. I'm alright at those specific maps and some other areas for a 5 digit. All in all, the most healthy way to improve I think is to just play the ones you enjoy listening to, or the pattern that feels nice.
Hey amazing video on almost every aspect of the game, I would have liked if you made the finger control section more in depth and give us some maps we could work with as it is one of the hardest things to learn I believe
I will eventually upload a more in depth video on the ins and out of finger control. I am learning index middle right now so I can do just that.
@@Chaoticythanks I appreciate it also keep up the good work dude
Nice video! I was wondering one thing though; I think I had never heard you talk about hand tapping styles when it comes to doing different patterns and types of maps. For instance, would you have a completely different tapping style when doing, lets sayyy - a deathstream or maybe you would readjust your hand in a way that you can shake your wrist and then switch back to a regular tapping style?? Or is it all just personal preference. I've tried many things, but the most notable being my thumb placement. I've been trying for a while to find the most optimal thing for my own hand and would love to hear your thoughts on how you you found your own optimal tapping style and technique, and some tips for others on how to find it!
Its all preference and takes a long time to learn how to adapt when you are out of stamina or close to it. Personally over the years I have been able to rotate my wrist with lots of practice but not everyone needs to in order to be successful.
thanks for the insight
Wow, I didn't know that people can find such big tablet areas comfortable. Because I have an area of 40mm by 22.5mm and I still can't really reach all of the corners comfortably
This is an amazing video, but I have to ask two things:
1. What is the benefit of learning single tap if you already have full alt?
2. I am ~29k rank and I have the stamina to deathstream 170-190 bpm and have been able to improve it continuously, but my flow aim improvement has been horrible, are there are any tips to follow for improving my flow aim (forcing myself to play more stream maps has made me feel that I’ve made some bad habits in my flow aim which is causing the difficulty) and how to approach it.
For you my friend th-cam.com/video/UWnmdJnNtxE/w-d-xo.html
I'm around rank 300k and just started learning tablet recently, I am also 24 years old I hope to get better from your advice! I learned I need to change around my area next session so I can look for a area I am comfy with going everywhere on the screen. Also to not force my tapping, so play less for my hand. I SOMETIMES have sessions around 3 to 4 hours long maybe not the best idea. 😂 I do feel the pain from it.
Ooh love the video also! ❤
Me too, pain and suffering one we cross the 3 hour mark.

No big update after 8 days also. I am fcing high 3 sr and low 4sr songs got a highest combo on tablet of 1100 and something today! Was trying defferent ways of improving and was kinda doing some pass pushing for a few days then went back I feel that was waste. XD
@@Porukadottosutingurei My next osu related video will help you out a lot, gz on highest combo! I remember the days when that was a big goal of mine to get a high combo. Ill give you some advice now from the next video. Whatever SR you are able to pass with around 90acc, make a collection of a bunch of maps around that same SR and play through the collection for your next session, then the one after that as well. LMK how it goes!
Mouse accel is a godsend for mouse players, helps with drift, also get a bigger mousepad
getting an oled made me jump really high... its wild
can you name the exactly mousepad you are using that feels good (or talk in the video)? like I have one from corsair its: CORSAIR MM300 Pro Extended and it just doesnt feels smooth, I would prefer to use mousepad instead of stickers on my table since it is too much work to order new one, remove old and apply new each month lol
I used to be a mouse player (800dpi *1.0) and now I switched to tablet. My tablet is 152 * 95 mm which is the wacom one small. I started off with high sensitivity and hovering but I was way too inconsistent so now I switched to full area tablet + dragging and I'm hitting consistently but I struggles with higher star level jumps (For example I would S a 4.1 star map and get a C on a 4.91 star map) so is this sensitivity good for me or should I reduce the area?
I don't have mouse drift cus i hold my g502 with 3 finger placed to get a solid grip but my little finger take all thr left weight pulled when i aim to the left leading to pain in my little finger, i play 5-6* beatmap... The mouse is at 120-130gram
I switched to the 502x versions 83,5 and same but slowed pain. So i do it only when i feel that i will get full combo or high score on the map.
2000 subs lets go
Also I can deathstream 5,000 combo on 190bpm, but when I tried play triples, I lost stamina (my fingers gets tired) like after 50combo is it normal? Yes I do good acc
what is the skin that you use in the background gameplay?
get this dude to 2k subs!!
4:22 its so ironic i literally was watching chocomint plays and lookin at his profile and then decided to search for this video LMAO
For “not being able to prevent mouse drift” you could get a tablet mouse or whatever (I forgor what it’s called) Ik gurbzy has it
Yes
idk if anyone will read this and give advice but i have "mouse drift" on my hands, literally. my hand position and posture changes constantly when i play a map. it takes up so much of my focus. how are you supposed to deal with this????
edit: i hold it like a pencil but with the pencil almost straight up in the air, instead of resting on my thumb. it ends up slipping and my pinky finger starts to hurt
edit 2: ok i fixed it by taping my pinky to my ring finger LOL
Someone needs to make a video like this but for touchscreen...
I will look this video again later this will help me, right now i'm stuck at 3 star map and I can't alternate at all, should I continue to trye to learn to alternate on the side and train reading and aim will singletaping ?
Before you can play I would say 6 star nomod maps its important to realize that every session you play should be dedicated to learning or improving something about your gameplay. You can go about it however you have the most fun really. I would focus on setting a goal of a map you want to pass and then once you pass that (lets say right now its a 4.5 star) then move up. When I was new and learning I had put all the maps I enjoyed into a collection and sorted by difficulty. Sometimes I would start at the hard and move to the easier, other times start easy and work my way up each session. Maybe try that, let me know how it goes!
About sensitivity, i mean 800 and 1600, both are good for me but idk how to choose x(
Hey I am a mouse player and am seeming to get stuck at the 3.5+ star mark as i can kinda follow the notes but seem to be slightly to slow or am slightly off the note. I have noticed that i can follow up to six star with my eyes and can almost keep up with them but am just to slow and not accurate enough. Do you have any tips to help this?
Keep trying
i play with 0.7 sen in osu with mouse is it bad , i cant change my mouse sens
good vid although i cant give myself a way to compare since i play offline i found myself worse with the wooting it actually fucked my tapping so maybe for those lower ranked people get some good tapping technique first and dont try and spam stream maps way above ur skill level it will hinder your progression i still cant play normally without it yet but im getting back there or if u do since its a good keyboard dw abt rapid trigger focus on acc
Spazza made a video talking about exactly this a year or two ago. Trying too hard to do something you are incapable of isnt the way to go. Work smarter not harder…
I hope you can fix your technique, good luck soldier.
My handwriting is solid ass, so what way should i grip my pen?
what is the red blue skin you used for this video? it looks pretty clean
Amaestric orange
is it a bad habit to stare in the middle of ny screen while reading the map?
i'm a mouse player and i use the mouse DPI in 1600, and the game sensivity in 0.58. I think i improved so well with this configs.
my dpi is 2400 and my in game is 1.4 :3
3:33 There are only 2 ways of almost eliminating mouse drift: Arm aiming (e.g FunOrange) and "Mablet"
Both are insane
@@kaede4182 I'd say arm aim is more viable, especially if you use lower sensitivities
My single tapping is now limiting me, i tried to overcome it and just simply tap faster.
That worked until it didnt, my hand got injured and now i need to learn alternating, plz help im 7 digit with alternate
If you are a 7 digit. The last thing that you should be thinking about is improving your singletapping speed. Just playing maps that are around your level of skill will naturally improve your gameplay over time. There is no need to focus on such things when you are only still learning the basics. Take time away from osu, and come back at it with a different mindset. Remember, there is no rush, you will improve simply by playing the game and having fun at your current level of skill.
I’m thinking of getting a pen for osu but I have bad hand writing but also good at drawing should I hold it normally?
I mean... you can try, but for most people (myself included) that gets very ueencomfortable after around the 3rd map

when you said "I believe a player who can rival mrekk will arise" you just willed akolibed's 1.5K to happen bro
8:19 Now we are playing aim trainers to be better at osu. What a development
If it works it works
Ez is like the only mod I play a bit of nm but the highest ar I can read is like 9.6 ish anything above that is to fast I’m around 500k as of right now

What is the skin that you used in the speed section?

Having continuous rapid trigger on when u have maxed out settings wont do much because ur keys are never gonna get above the 0.1mm actuation
Yeah idk it feels different and off to me a bit, maybe software issue.
my goal is to be either the best speed player ever or number 1 one day

why are you labeling this an 'In-Depth Guide' when its just surface level info and tips
These are the main things I do to improve right now as a rank 1200 player. If you think this is surface level. Congrats, you’re the only genius in the room.
@@Chaoticy for example, what 'things that you do to improve' did you cover in the aim section, you didnt even touch on anything about what maps to play, map attributes like cs bpm approach rate, angles, or awkward aim which are all things id expect to be covered in a supposedly in depth guide
@@saiykuuNo, OSU is a game to have fun not to study it, just have faith and you can do whatever you set out to do.
SAIYKUU MY OSU GOAT!!!
@@saiykuu The point of my improvement videos is to open peoples minds up to new ideas, such as changing the way they think about a certain aspect of gameplay in order to improve. Which comes with personal experience. I have no in depth tips and tricks on how to improve aim. This is because I have never trained my aim in the same way I have trained my stamina, speed, and reading. I guess my advice would be if you are having trouble aiming something, play it until you hit it.
with the singletapping and alt, i can also do that, i started to singletap but i learned to alt eventually, now i alt more because i cant singletap more than 235bpm, if i focus too much on tapping, my aim is shit and vice versa
I get to a point on some days where my aim is just doing its thing and allows me to worry about tapping more. But I have very precise aim that I am proud of. Not sure how I would go about improving that specifically, but it might help if you warm up your aim hard in the beginning of your sessions…
@@Chaoticy for the few years ive been playing osu, ive come to an conclusion that warming up is not that necessary for aim, but for reactions and tapping, my aim is good but my brain and hands cant comprehend 230 bpm at first 10 plays.
@@maxxik2272 My aim is good too, but I still have days where it suffers if I dont get properly warmed up, everyone is different though!
@@Chaoticy question, for past 1 and a half week, i am doing worse scores than 2 weeks ago, on the same maps, like is it me playing too much? or is it just a mind thing or is it just me getting worse? because i have no idea why, i could stream 200bpm with no problems, and now i cant even burst 200, or i cant jump 230 anymore, i dont know why
@@maxxik2272 Try taking a few days break, you are probably playing too much.

I’m rank 230k and I play consistently but I feel like I’m actively getting worse I play basically all maps but can’t seem to improve
I’ll update this comment in a few days with what this video did for me
Im looking forward to your return
@@Chaoticy so far the look at every circle has made my consistency skyrocket I’ve fced 3 or 4 long maps in the mid to high 4 star range that aren’t too difficult but more just a test of consistency
what does bro mean when saying "if youre unlucky and have an amd gpu"
Just the luck of the draw you feel me
i play on 2950 dpi w/ G502 mouse
Random thing to see pop up in my feed. I often wish i didnt get into this game nowadays because i cant seperate enjoying the game and my mood based on my quality of play.....i cant be fucking awful and enjoy it....and im literally completely incapable of aiming properly and its so frustrating. Aim alone by itself gates this entire game for me and im pretty must past the point of ever believing its possible for me to ever figure out and progress that skillset for what would be the first time since at least before i changed setups in 2020....or at least have any consistency to fix my over 5k A ranks i genuinely cringe at whenever i see
If you cant aim properly, you should focus only on trying to fix that until it feels better. Try sitting in a different position, maybe a different area? Mess around with it, let me know how it goes.
Dont worry so much about A ranks either. Ranks like that shouldnt be something you are worried about if you want to spend time improving in valuable ways. Trust me! Im a B rank gamer
@@Chaoticy its been years of stagnation and inconsistency. Mostly a mouse player. I do have some tablet stints here and there but i cant figure that one out. Too bouncy too many angles that feel physically impossible in the sense that theres gaps in the range of motion and i cant use a small enough area where its comfortable to reach corners without making everything else worse and introducing bad habits where im pressing fingers in ways to mitigate it that hurt me. Seriously back when I tried small area is the only time ive ever thought i would injure myself ans im not a arm aimer
Not having any music and not showing specifically what you are mentioning with a gameplay footage, (for instance, mentioning full alt, you could have elaborated on that with a clip specific to that, with zooming on the key input overlay for better clarification) all that plus the video length makes this video really hard to watch. Although the information you've provided to beginner players is very well put together, if you were to ever make a video for intermediate players, I'd suggest you take these into consideration. Thank you for taking your time to make this video
No music was intentional for this video. I probably should have put some oldschool runescape music but its too late now.
Also its not so much about laying out the entire process. Its more what I do to law the foundation. Then its up to you to decide how to apply it all
I'm 15, swedish, permazoomer really fast learner and whatever and I'm a gamer
I have liek the perfect setup to become a top 10 or even number 1 player
That's the logic I have been using since I downloaded osu and it carried me to 30k in about a year
But the last few months i have lterally gained liek no ranks cuz I'm pretty much only palying either dumb reading stuff, fundamnetals or stuff that is way too fast and hard for me to do
However the result of that is an ability rn to snap upward of 320bpm jumps so maybe I'll start to get some pp soon after I stop getting so many dumb chokes and stuff
I will get 2 digit in this game one day, that's my long term goal
I hope you reach your goal of 2 digit!
What's ur skin????

Try harder
Dont get me wrong, your a good content creator, but why is your to get X amount of subscribers by the end of the year, when you cant control that. You can only control how good your content is.
just a number I cooked up when I was making the video thats all
im not a fan of your ez takes tbh
- playing 3 star maps +ez is not going to help you significantly in reading anything other than 3 star +ez because the patterns in 3 star maps are so different to 5*+
- ezdt is strictly harder than ez. the density of the map does not change.
- jumps are by far the easiest part of ez, im not sure how much ez you have actually played but any accel/decel flow aim and tech is infinitely harder than jumps (with the exception of heavy overlaps)
Honestly debating proving you wrong by only playing 3-4 star ez maps for warmup for a month
honestly i'd be happy to be proven wrong, but from my ez experience that's what i felt pretty much the whole way
How do you find good maps ?
