Let me know what you guys think about this, as I plan to make more educational/long videos like this in the future, not just on how to improve in osu! but also on interesting topics arising in the community. I've also been thinking on making videos about how i make these videos and how i make my thumbnails as well.
I came for consistency only and got out with many more useful tips that haven't been touched by other guide videos. I can definitely say this was one of the best guide videos I've seen my 6 years of osu! experience. Keep up the great work, I'll pray the TH-cam gods so this gets the exposure it deserves.
thank you i was a little pressed for time so i made a few mistakes (introduction and conclusion should have had blurred background, i used cropping on text which was dumb so sometimes letters are slightly cut off) but i definitely did put a good amount of effort into this.
good video, these general basic advice vids are very easy for new players to digest because I feel like a lot of them are kinda lost when it comes to improvement and just try whatever until it works
This guide is insanely helpful, especially for a 6 digit noob like me. The tip of not retrying maps and getting more maps is very helpful. I would get angrier the more I retried a map. I also have a variety of maps to play now instead of retry spamming the same maps again and again. Thank you!
Oh my god, not only did you teach us how to improve but you also showed me a tool I've been looking for for years x.x I've been needing a way to export my osu collections for how long already, thank you for showing me this video
2:15 kinda funny how you pointed this out since I keep choking on asu no yozora insane diff. Great video Either way dude thanks for putting in the work to do it
great job with the guide! i just want to add that meditation has literally infinite advantages in life besides just osu, so even if you aren't looking to improve you should pick up medito. in my experience, the 'individual' circle aim only gets me so far before my eyes start to give out from switching targets too fast (also horribly inefficient, can't keep track of the distance between circles & cursor position). i think its more accurate to say a kinda mix between peripheral vision and individual circle aiming.
i never really leave comments on videos but i've been genuinely stuck at the 140-150k rank range for the last like 4 years of on and off playing (not lying when i say this, my user is xenonox) and i saw this video pop up in my recommended pretty much the day it came out. didn't think much, but decided to give it a watch anyways. been applying some of the stuff over the last few days, paired with some other speed/stream training and i'm finally seeing genuine progress with my skill. probably one of the only "how to improve in osu" videos that have actually worked and is concise and to the point, thank you!
thanks for the guide :) ig one thing i would add (if you didnt say it already) is to take breaks when needed. but either way thanks for the help and im ready to see you in the top 100
man this was really well made! some genuinely good advice that you give and i love the amount of effort you put in. looking forward to more of these in the future! now i'm ready to take that yomi yori bounty xd
Damn this video made me improved instantly by realizing that I was hyperfocusing at learning dt and not playing nomod. And also these advice are very good.
I know it's probably something no one wants to hear but actually getting good sleep is, I know, this is gonna sound crazy, but its really good for you, not just for osu! but literally everything.
yeah a lot of this advice has the "side effect" of significantly improving your life but if i dont target everything for improving at osu people will cringe at me and click off and i need watch hours!!!!1!1!1!!1!1
Hey, thanks for the video ! I'm 49k on osu! and i have a bit of experience from playing this game but some tips that you've said are not something you learn by just playing the game, now I know how to control my nerves and stop choking. And also nice video dude !
i put this in my watch later, just in case i need to show it to anyone. now i know im shit at osu with keyboard, tablet and mouse, but i am totally uninterested in desktop osu, because it has been the same old thing since 2017. actually much longer ago, but in 2017 there was scorev2 added iirc.
elbow on the tablet??? how big is your tablet????? if you mean desk i have my elbow on the arm of my chair, which is probably more comfortable than deliberately leaning forward to fit my elbow on the desk.
@@Brainage04 lwriyrgbfWILHFGALDIFG i guess my brain left while i typed XD mybad its cuz my chair doesnt have an arm, so is it better to have it half way on table regardless or do i keep it on the table?
Niche advice. Stay healthy. 🤣 Tactical blinking is a must in osu mania. The key is to learn how to blink one eye at a time like Jakads. You can also try to yawn. When you yawn it moistens the eyes so you won't have to blink for longer. Very very niche eye advice. Yawning is a double edged sword. Mainly because you might keep yawning continuously when you don't want to.
I can imagine shaking your wrist to stream like 220 consistently but does it apply to alt bpm like on 150 do you still rotate the wrist or tap with fingers only? At what bpm should I start rotating? Also since the index finger is shorter than the ring where should the pivot point of the rotation be? For me atleast it's not obvious it feels like it's not between the 2 fingers but rather on my index. Do you mind giving more insight on this somewhere?
I used to be playing the deceit for warm and then yomi yori for days just to develop speed and stamina so here i am with stamina and speed and without rsi but don't do it you can get it im just lucky lol
Two questions: 1. How often should I be able to get the 95%-FC before increasing the star rating? 2. How much should I increase the star rating every time I am ready to increase it? Thanks for the great tips!
I guess this could also help kinda did for me . So coffee ir a favorite drink to lighten yourself a bit i went from doing 210 to mashing and kinda hiting 260bpm. Exercise im not one to give advise when it come to this but swiming cardio stamina should a bit . Again im not one to talk . Exercise then play the game you want to play . It helped a bit
1:57 I never thought about that actually. I can full alt, I can singletap with my index which is my dominant finger, and I can alt into streams if full alting. But for some reason this is something I never trained and can’t do, I can’t single tap from my middle finger which is my weaker finger and go straight into streams. Essentially I can’t stream or do triples off my middle finger for some reason. Just like he said in the video, it’s uncomfortable and makes my brain think in a weird way. Will definitely try this for a bit and see how it impacts my gameplay because I currently struggle with streams in that I can’t stream above 180 but I seemingly can if I use ring finger and index. Potentially my middle finger is significantly weaker than my index?
when it comes to playing DT, do you have any recommendations on how to increase in bpm from like 210ish to normal bpms? I find there aren't many maps in the mid bpm range, theres a lot of DT specific 180-210 bpm maps but not many maps that are 210-240 bpm with DT
its just something u have to practice from the ground up tbh try doing it at 120bpm and then when you can FC a 120bpm stream practice map (just search on osu's website for "stream practice") try 150 then 160 etc.

Simple, quick, and to the point; what an absolute banger of a video. Thank you for making this, I will be rewatching this a lot in the coming weeks.
Left on the UR bar means you're tapping too early(so slow down) and right on the UR bar means you're tapping to late(so speed up). @8:32
that mindset also greatly helps at many things in life

fine video, just one thing
you swapped left and right when talking about the UR bar, left is when you click too early and right when you are too late!

honestly the most important thing in osu for me is probably tapping, aim second because without good tapping you won't have the best aim
