Hola, and thanks again for being my Blender Buddy.
I realize this is an older video, but I've been searching for a basic fundamentals tutorial on how to prepare the alpha images. I have created a variety of VERY heavy cholla cactus' (cactii) that are great for foreground hero shots, but i need to also populate the mid to background with. The fine details of which you'll never see and deserve to be single-quad cards. Animation is taking place in Unreal, and i want to deliver these cactus cards correctly.
Long story short: suggestions on basic foundational tutorials on how to create these cards-based imposters in Blender?
    Grazi!

Hey man, I was laughing when you started but as a less intensive render it's really a great option, I didn't thought it will come out👏that good.
And one will not need those files specifically, if they have a moderate image editing skills, I have used this method for creating grass cover with hand drawn grass but it looks cooler with trees (* if someone is using hand drawn images make sure not to use highlights those may look awkward)
Really a great way to make tree cover for distant scenes.
****** One can make the trees to follow the camera with driver

I get a lot of black artifacts in my test (with my alpha trees) despite having Transmission and Transparent turned up to 100. My crop is too large so there's a lot of alpha in my trees. I will crop them closely and try again. I'm raising this because I've seen this technique a few times but when I try it, I often have black artifact issues which others do not seem to have. I also seem to have color and lighting issues, my trees look great in a tree project, but imported as planes they are seem duller, darker. Is there something obvious I've missed? Are there steps in creating an alpha image for import as plane that are also important WRT size, color, quality, lighting?
