    Love this channel. i buy a new/used car every 7 years. it is June 2024 - And will be purchasing this exact make model/year/trim vehicle. test drove it yesterday and loved it. but it was late at night so couldn’t do the purchase. gonna buy today!
    Also I always watch this channel for new and used car reviews. S Haymart is an excellent speaker and reviewer. this channel should be blowing up already but not sure why it’s not.
    Anyhow- Great review and thumbs up 👍🏻

    This is a prime example of why I dig your reviews, you show stuff that almost every other journalist doesn't. Small details and that's what I CRAVE. Thanks!

    The Honda Accord is near perfection since the have built this car nonstop since the 70s. such a great vehicle in every way. this surpasses Acura products just 4 years ago easily.

    Always tempted by spending less money on gas, but I've never gotten one because I like driving...

    oh, man! Knew I shoulda waited! I commute 120 miles/day, was due for a new vehicle in 2016 and went for the EX-L, 4 cylinder. It's a very nice car and a great commuter that was giving me 37 mpg (mostly highway) on regular -- which I thought was great til I see here 48 combined. I'm tempted to do an early trade-in though at today's decent gas prices, I KNOW the math won't work out.

      13noman1 probably not worth the upgrade just for mpg. If you are averaging 37, I'm averaging 40 over mostly rural highway speeds and some city driving with the 2017 hybrid touring. However it's a really nice car to drive really enjoy the overall technology of the car.

    I have the car had it for less than a month, just hit 1000 miles with it. I'm averaging 35 miles per gallon which is not even close to the advertised mpg of 48 combined, hopefully it's that way due to the current colder weather right now. It's pretty fast and fun to drive, and the stereo sounds really good I really enjoy the apple car and Android Auto. The LED headlight are awesome specially driving in rural roads. The side camera, I actually don't like it, that things makes me sick, so I turned it off.

      cold + your driving habits - if you are saying it is pretty fast/fun to drive then it means you have a heavy foot - cant be both fast and efficient - if you like mashing the pedal then you should have gotten the v6, you would probably still manage high 20s and be even faster

    • @muchachito559
      @muchachito559 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ken Kozawa i actually try to drive as efficient as possible, just on ce in a while i will accelerate fast. Just today I drove with the heater off and it averaged 52 over a 25 mile drive. So if the heater is on, it forces the engine to be on more than needed.

    • @kenkozawa9810
      @kenkozawa9810 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      lol come on, i have driven many accord hybrids, camry hybrids and prius so i have some personal experience..you are not going to drop from 52 to 35 with just the heater on :s if so take a video and switch it back and forth between off and on while you show your MPG reader, that is not normal..again, it is one or the other, somewhat lethargic and you get the MPG or somewhat peppy and you burn gas (also depends on how much city driving you do considering how much the regenerative breaking really helps bring up MPG)

    • @muchachito559
      @muchachito559 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ken Kozawa I averaged 40 miles per gallon over the last tank, so far for this tank it's displaying 40 as well. Maybe the engine was still breaking during the first take where I averaged 35 miles per gallon. If I have time I will record a drive with the heater off and with it on so you can see there is a significant difference in mpg

    • @kenkozawa9810
      @kenkozawa9810 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      modern cars don't require same breaking in like in the past especially for MPG..virtually all manufacturers put each engine through some rigorous testing before it goes into the bay and then they run the car on top of that before it leaves the factory. I assume your case is a combination of driving habit, your commute and the cold weather.

    Question, if I may: Does the gasoline engine automatically recharge the battery thus avoiding any plug in? Thank you.

    I've been comparing the Accord & MKZ for a bit now...I have to say that the Accord interior quality/materials, seats, center console storage & buttons/controls (this especially!!) and things like the sunroof just do not compare to the MKZ. There is a little more headroom in the rear in the Accord though but I also like the higher seating position in the MKZ, which is really comfortable actually. Will be buying the MKZ hybrid. The MKZ hybrid reserve is only 1k more expensive in my area (4k with the crazy sunroof ;))
    The MKZ is more of a competitor to A4, 3-series, C-Class but out of all what you can get in the ~35-40k area the MKZ certainly wins for me - and its hybrid. Nonetheless, I'd most definitely make the step up from the Accord to the MKZ.

    There's a sticker on the trunk that says the weight capacity for the trunk is 15 pounds. You can see the sticker in the video. That makes the trunk unusable, yet no one has commented. I personally pushed on the foam compartments under the trunk mat and they seem to compress easily, making me think the 15lb weight limit is real. Does anyone have more information on this? This is a deal breaker in an otherwise amazing car for its class.

      @econ0611 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Julio M 15 pound limit applies when placing items on top of battery pack and not to the whole trunk. however, since there is extra weight of the battery pack, you will need to follow the maximum weight limit including the internal occupants.

    why do all reviewers whine about knobs when there are steering wheel controls for all radio functions,why would it be easier to take your hand off the wheel to control volume etc.then to just use the steering controls which by the way you all whined for when they were only in upscale cars,now you have then and your still whining,get over it and move on to the important things.

    • @muchachito559
      @muchachito559 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Victor Milani I have the car and do agree with you, that every reviewer has complained about that feature and it's not that big of an issue. However it will be nice to have the knob for volume and tuner, just because it's easier to use when you need a fast change, and just having it will be a plus.

    • @JW77
      @JW77 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Strange thing is, most of these reviewers do not complain about the knobs when they review Tesla Model S.

  • @sly9263

    I don't get why the mirror camera is on the right side instead of the left. The same goes for the volume controls being on the wrong (left) side of the wheel, opposite the radio. People should be in the right lane most of the time, passing in the left (where the mirror would be more useful). If you are passing on the left, you know that the right lane is empty, making the mirror irrelevant. It's like they just swapped these from right hand vehicles and gave two shits about making a couple simple modifications to make them relevant for the US customer base.
