    I love my 42yr old 45 flighter, date code UI - 4th quarter of 1981. Was older than me lol. Came to me customized by my dad and uncle, a 14k M nib and the robot humped metal squeeze converter, yours was round head mine was squared both of which the same build. Either ways it was never re-sacced and up to this date the squeeze is still firm. This is my very first and only fountain pen and my daily work force writer. Thx for this video I learned of its backstory and fully understood its value passed on to me that went on throughout the time. Greetings from the Philippines! 🇵🇭

      The 45 is a beautiful pen. Very influential for pen design.

    Great video - thanks. I used one of these in the 70s at school and then forgot about them for about 20 years. I have bought a few off eBay and it is now one of my most used, favourite pens. Favourite colours are the turquoise and yellow ones, but classic black and navy are good. As an added bonus, I found out these can take Aurora and Lamy cartridges/convertors. The latter are sold everywhere.

      Interesting! I'll have to try a Lamy convertor in mine.

    Excellent Video!! I love that pen. My first pen was a Parker 45 CT pen in burgundy color given to me by my grandmother in 1981. Greetings from Chile!

    Maybe the best fountain pen ever. I have 4 of them.

      It's a great pen, and it seems to have inspired other brands to design pens with similar lines.

    The 45 was my very first fountain pen, given to me by my grandfather back in 1965. Still have it but haven’t used it for some time.

      They are great pens, and such a great gift to still have from your Grandfather. Does it still work?

      @@PEIPenGuy Yes it does. I usually try to ink it up once a year.

    Very nice video. I love mine. It is a very smooth writer. Have you any reviews on the Parker 21 and how to disassemble it? Do know if the squeeze converters are glued or threaded on?

    • @PEIPenGuy
      @PEIPenGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have a 21 yet. I think the converter would have been glued on with shellac, but I could be wrong.

    I have an all metal 45 Parker flighter with a black plastic tapered finial at the bottom of the barrel. I dont know did the flighter have a black bead at the top of the cap? or anothèr tiny black finial? It has a gold plated arrow and a tiny gold plated piece at the top like a round piece of finial in gold plate that has a round recess in it. Just wondering if my cap is missing a piece?

    • @PEIPenGuy

      I don't think it had a black piece at the top, but there may have been variations over the years.

    I was browsing around in an antique store today and came across this exact pen but with a black barrel. I took it home and it has been soaking for a couple hours most of the ink was in the cap. 🤔. I’m hoping that’s not a sign of leaking. My pen has the same converter as yours. I hate the squeeze converter (changed my Pilot Metro to a Con-40). I was able to remove the converter. What size cartridge does it take? I tried standard and it didn’t work. Thank you for sharing! God bless you.

    Very nice pen ! Is the nib a little bent down like a Pilot PO nib ? It seemed like this I'm the video.

    • @PEIPenGuy
      @PEIPenGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there's a very slight downward curve to it, and I'm not sure it it was supposed to be this way. It writes very nice and smooth.
