    That's one of my favorite dashes of any car.

    These old c4/a6 have solid engineering unlike the newer Audis (2004+) Here in NE Europe (Estonia) they salt the roads quite badly in the winter and we still see them riding around daily. The old 100-series is a solid tank even 30 years later! I bought a nick body & interior ‘92 c4 sedan last spring - it hasn’t seen any winters and loving it so far. The 90s feel and look at its best.
    The wagons have a mean look, got to love it hey. Not sure about the 2.8 auto, but I guess its like with all the older germans - the larger the engine the better it ages.
    Good luck on the restauration.

      Very true. Things were built to last. Thanks! Itching to get back on it real soon, been busy with other more pressing projects.

    Love it! I have a 97 A6 Avant that I’ve been restoring as well, the wood on the dash is actually real, it’s a vaneer over a backing. These cars are so cool, not many left out there. Mine has 163k on it at the moment, I paid $2000 for it and am planning to 4.2 V8 swap it next winter. The the locks are vacuum, so that’s why they’re sort of slow. I also don’t believe A6 were optioned with the car phone, my 94 S4 had it. I robbed the phone from the spare seats and installed it in my A6, there’s a square retainer that sits in the bottom of the arm rest that it snaps into like the old Motorola bag cell phones. Also your sunshade is probably just back in the headliner from moving the sunroof back. They don’t come back out for some reason when you close it. Just have to reach in there

      That's awesome! I discovered that about the wood when removing the shift bezel and it chipped - whoops. I'll take another look for the sunshade, it looks distinctly absent and like something is wrong, but hopefully you're right and I'm just missing it. There really aren't many out there and parts are scarce. Thanks for watching!

      No habla Espanol. || There is a port on the front of the condenser behind the grill and it appears there's a port way down on the bottom of the left front side of the engine. I have yet to do it but if all goes well I'll be refilling the system soon.

    The wood is real.
    The rear antenna is the radio antenna and telephone antenna, not just telephone antenna.
    Why would you call it a German piece of junk when it has 330,000 miles (Most likely on the original engine and transmission), and is in great shape and is only $600?

    I dont know if I missed it, but how much did you buy this car for? Have you flipped it yet?

      @WildMountainGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't buy and tell haha, might have been too much at $600. I'm planning on keeping it for a bit now. Have another car I'm flipping first. Audi engine going back in soon (finally).

      @@WildMountainGarage I'm looking to buy a good condition audi a6 1997 avant with 176k miles, the dealer is asking 4.2k for it. Im hoping to get it cheaper to cover shipping costs.

    I have one of these, a '95 A6 Avant. Bought it in 2003 for $8500 with 85k on the clock. Still have it 20 years later with 225k on the clock. Nothing major done to it but it is in serious need of a rehab. Motor has never been touched outside of cam belts, and reseal some gaskets. Transmission has never been touched. Came with the optional phone. Would love to know where to get body parts for it if you happen to know? Need some fenders and a door

      I have yet to find anything. I wanted to replace the rear headrests. Nothing. Mine still has some engine issues, so if I can't fix this winter I may sell it. You're welcome to buy it as a parts car if I do.

      Fenders are easy to find. If you can't find them online, just ask a local body shop. It's the fender for the S4/S6 that are hard to find.

      They're a tiny bit slower than normal, most likely the rear hatch has a tiny leak which is very normal for the bellows there.

    Audi never build better cars between the late 80`s and mid90`s. I had a Audi 80 and a 100 during that time. Never had such good and solid cars ever since. The rust prevention is the best, even 25, 30 years or oder older cars are usually almost rostfree if they have been treaten with a minimum of care.
