      A lot of people are like that with all kinds of food. There's people who don't know how meat or eggs are made and how they end up in the store. It's always good to learn about how your food is produced and where it comes from. :)

    I love Jun's accent when he speaks English!
    It mostly sounds American but at some words, he kind of sounds Australian or European of some kind.

      Even when all grandparents were American, it doesn't mean that they didn't have Asian heritage from past generations. The Asian eyes found in Europe date back over a millenia!
      They date back to an Asian tribe who settled in Northern Europe over 2000 years ago. They intermixed with Europeans and their genes were spread by Vikings (reminds me a bit of Mongols).
      Also, I've heard stories of parents who had African heritage, but visible phenotype had children with visible African features. The funniest example was in South Africa with a member of the Apartheid regime...

    I just love this culture. Just something so relaxing about Japan. (I'm aware they're not perfect, this is every country.)
    I know they are a very dedicated overworked society and all but because of that, their country is beautiful 💕.
    No big machines, just labor. Shows you a lot about them :).
    One day Japan, one day I will visit you and live there 💕💕💕.

    Thank you for posting. Here in Australia we 'experiment' growing all kinds of rice. The 'sticky' Japanese rice grows well, but we are not allowed to sell it to Japan. (We gave the Emporor a lot, a few years ago, and we got fireworks in return. No worries, we eat it all. But the machines you have are great. Maybe we should try another swap! The Aussie-Japan friendship is going well!

      +Reality Why are insects "nasty"? (It's not their fault they're a little ugly...) Honestly, you're going to cook the rice, not eat it as is. Bacteria is everywhere, constantly attacking you no matter what you do. What we *should* be worried about is the inorganic contamination.

    稲刈りの後、籾を乾燥させて籾殻と分けて玄米になるんですよね~。
    昔は全部の工程が手作業だったと思うと気が遠くなります。
    白米、最高!!特に新米!!

      +Natasha Burdette Every step that the rice plants are handled or dropped make the spiders run away. Sadly a very few bits and pieces will get through. Shougani. Every thing gets eaten eventually.

    Ohhhhhh I miss Japan SOOOO MUCH 😭😭😭. I was stationed in Yokosuka, Atsugi, & Okinawa. I lived in a town called Tsurumi. I loved going to Shinjuku to go roller skating 😁. I often took the shinkansen to vacation in Hokkaido. Lovely people & lovely country. I miss it so very much 😪😪😪😪. New Sub!!!!! Love you guys already!!!!

    I used to work on a rice farm in California and there would be tour buses with Japanese farmers and ag students, I never realized how differently rice is grown and harvested there. Thank you for the informative look.

    For anyone interested, the machines in order are 1) a Harvester/baler, 2) A thresher, 3) a Rice Huller, and 4) a Rice Polisher.

      The rice go through 3-4 sifting machine to get only the plain white rice so there would be a very low chance of there being a spider in the rice, especially when it's all mechanized, the chance of there being a spider would be almost at zero

    I want those machines in the Philippines. I didn’t know this is possible as I still see people do harvesting the old ways. This is my favourite technology so far that I have discovered today. Thanks for sharing.
