    I don't know if you are allowed to have an alarm clock in your room but if you are then you should try a sunrise alarm clock. They slowly raise the light level in the room to mimic the sunrise. It might help the waking up in the dark.

    Great video, Krista! Those are good points and I can 100% agree on both pros and cons. Another con for us as performers: we absolutely have to go and systematically check out what our colleagues and idols are doing. And that’s absolutely impossible while on the ship. Probably live concert is the thing I miss the most when at sea.

      So true! I haven't been to a live concert in ages! Thanks for watching! ☺️

    Enjoy your vids so much!! I was in the Navy and did 6 month deployments and life on a navy ship is pretty similar as all the cons you mentioned but you have to wear a uniform around the clock unless working out. But the reasons you mentioned are also reasons they are understaffed is because it does suck being underway and seeing how much the world continued to go on while you were floating in your own world at sea. I felt like soooooooooooo much changed when I got home.

    Thanks for sharing. Yes, there are pros and cons with every jobs. You have to love what you do the enjoy the job which will make the cons seem not that important.

    Great video, I always like seeing what goes on that you don't see as a guest. Some of those places though, wow, they look amazing.

    The "Vogue" shoot with the life jacket was funny stuff. Your video's are very informative for someone like myself who doesn't quite grasp what the crew has to deal with while cruising.

    I finished my first contract as a musician on the Carnival Valor some weeks ago and this video is spot on! Life goes so different on ships that it takes a while to readjust when going back to land. I was wondering how many weeks you plan to be on land when your contract finishes and if you just chill while at it. Great video!!

    • @krista.jocelyn
      @krista.jocelyn  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s so different! Definitely an adjustment! Currently I would like about two months off and I will just chill and probably travel a bit and see friends/ family! 🤗

    I am about to do my physical to join the Pride of America ship and I am watching TH-cam videos of the ship and I found you in someone else's vlog. Your hula dancing in the EECC Travels -- boarding NCL Pride of America - Four Island Cruise Around. I saw all your videos of your time on the ship but wanted to share that I saw this. Thought it was cool! Love your videos.

    All of those locations you showed were beautiful although I have no idea where you were, I’m happy you got to see it in person! Lots of fun facts in this video. I don’t know how old you are but I’m guessing you have plenty of time to cruise for a living before hanging or up. Looks like you’re having fun at the moment. Thanks for the update🎈

    Great story telling and allowing us to appreciate the life aboard a cruise ship. Very interesting your ship docked in Montenegro, we did a land tour to Montenegro a few months ago and saw many cruise ships docking next to Kotor. Definitely consider a future in being a video/movie producer, your editing skills and story telling is very entertaining. Best wishes.

    The biggest sacrifice imo, when I worked on Cruise Ships (Shops & Cruise Staff), was the lack of privacy and independence while onboard. However, it was so worth it, as everyone can see in your great new vlog.

    While it makes sense to allow people who are in a relationship to share a room, it surprises me that they do so. Feels like relationship problems could be a much bigger issue with this living situation and it could be a hassle to get one moved out and living arrangements changed for other people to make things work again. Anything like that ever happen, and how do they handle it?

    • @krista.jocelyn
      @krista.jocelyn  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On my ship you have to either be married or have some sort of legal document between the two of you, for Robert and I we have a mortgage together so they allowed us to live together. On other ships they didn’t require this and yeah it can be a hassle for sure but they’ll just move you if they have the space!

    Hi Krista! So, who is the highest paid performer on a cruise ship? Not including if you have some well-known talent that performs onboard. Does that make sense? Thanks!

    Question about the safety duties: how are those assigned? Is it just randomly assigned to you or do certain jobs automatically have a specific safety duty assigned to it?

    • @krista.jocelyn
      @krista.jocelyn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Certain jobs are usually always a specific position, like the cast is usually muster station leaders. Other front of house positions are usually crowd control, things like that!
