It's always good to be aware of porthole placement at ports. I still have entertaining memories of rolling over to see a forklift load going past my space, just feet away.😂 The best was when I was working aboard a container ship. I was centerline. Due to the work overnight, I had planned getting extra sleep to first break, instead of up before breakfast. I get up and walk over to the blackout curtain to see a full container go flying past my face. I had been sleeping so soundly that the crane had removed all of the deck containers, all of the cargo hatch covers, and half of the cargo hold containers, at the hold immediately in front of the house. I had slept through all of it. When you are working around the clock, you train your brain to only wake up for the stateroom phone, the personal alarm clock, the alarm panel, or a sound that could mean danger. Somewhere in my slumber, my brain recognized the cacophony of sound feet from my pillow as normal cargo ops and let me stay asleep. I guess that I was tired.😂

My dumba** was like "why is there a bird outside your window"... like a crane not a crane... opps...

I think what most people are not realizing about the wifi issue is that they are...employees!!! So I am going to safetly assuming that for 5-8 hours a day, they are WORKING!!! and if not, they are sleeping and in wish, they only have a few hours to work. So yeah, 2 hours of free wifi sounds somewhat reasonable.

I was in the Navy. The great thing about a ship, even a civilian one for pleasure, is that you are following the rules and are in an environment where other crew members have ownership over the washers, trash, bathrooms, rooms, etc. It's your ship and it makes everything better and less stressful because everyone is pulling somehow, or they're not and screwing everybody and they're going to get found out. Of course, there always your Phantom Shi**ers.
