This escalade is a 2006 . I got on 2010 with 121, 000 miles on it . Nothing went except water pump , then at 305,000 transfer case popping bad , put another one in . Works great . Drove till 349,000 then motor blew , slung rod , still have going to put motor . Everything else works great .
I knew it. I have this same sound. I knew it had to be transfer case and not CV axles. But It did sound like stripped splines or a bad control arm. Or bad u joints. Or bad torsion bar bushings....lol..i almost changed all of that shit. But I did hard research. Minimal info on this problem on the internet. . It was actually hard to find this info here but im glad I found the problem for sure. ...thanks for the video.
Looked at a tear down video of one of the BW units and it looks like what people are saying won’t work is traction control/locking action. From the stepped gears it looks like it has a built in torque bias like my Audi Quattro transmissions with their torsen center diffs. But to say “it won’t work” I.e. you won’t have AWD at all would be wrong. Just means if the front slips the rear won’t drive just like the left right action on any open diff, which means the benefit you get from AWD is limited.
mine does it wile slowing down not going giveing gas to it i can ride breaks works fine going down hill and slowing then i hate the awd in my hummer h2 and the 4165e junk in it but Thanks much fer video this by my first awd case fixing or weldind up 2wd conversion till i do the 6 speed swap

the inside of that case is awful... so dirty, was that fluid ever changed?? lol. i just got done putting mine together, but when i had it apart i almost didn't even need to clean it.
The person explained everything clear and easy , it would be easy to clean up and replace chain and bearings, then close it up.

Summit has a 460hp 6.0L for around $3500. Its what I will go with when the motor in my 2006 escalade EXT dies

This transfer case had 305850 miles on it . I got at 125000 miles , changed it 1 time .

How many miles did you get out of that transfer case? It looks like it got really hot with all that blackening inside the case.

The factory code for this transfer case is np149 my transfer case has the same issue on my 2004

Brian Wallstedt Did you ever try driving it with no front traction ( no tranfercase) to see if it runs?
@@mrrmsfucker146 Escalades are AWD. You can not turn off or disconnect the front like a 4WD.
