I remember randomly stumbling over this song in the early days of the internet, before youtube, facebook, twitter, spotify etc. Back when private homepages and blogs was what internet was about.
Voltaire is fucking amazing! I love this song, it represents basically every evil character conceived. Who said violin wasn't rock?! This song shows you just how dark the violin with vocals and guitar can be when it comes to rock. I have listened to this over and over again and not gotten tired yet!

This usually helps me quiet down enough to sleep- I'm usually too paranoid and apprehensive of my every-night Nightmares, so I end up sleeping till 4-5 am, sometimes I don't even go to sleep I just randomly take a short nap during the day. I've found this songs and others of this kinda style help a lot. It really makes me feel better- Like nothing can get to me cuz I'm too evil for it.

In the song "When You're Evil" there is a decided catchy tune. My autistic grandson wanted me to play it for him on the phone and asked "Do I like it?" Well, not my style, but I remember being a kid. I can imagine Sock from Welcome to Hell singing this to Jonathan while tormenting him-just replace the words "Lord Beelzebub" with "Mephistopheles" and you're good to go. :)
If somebody hasn't used this song as a tribute to Mr. Dark from Something Wicked This Way Comes, they should.
Looking back, this could perfectly fit as a villain song for Judge Holden from Blood Meridian. Especially with the fiddling and overall presence the singer makes, singing about how evil he is as well as all the evils he can embody and that he’s evil for the sake of it and how he mentions the devil a lot in the chorus.
Blood Meridian movie directors…please put this masterpiece of a song in the movie.
