    I was hoping I could come to this video and find the reason why my X32 Compact isn't working on my computer as well. Looking at the Device Manager, it shows up as "Standard USB Audio 2.0" and saying the driver could not start. I've heard USB 3.0 has backward compatibility. Do you think this is the case here, USB 2 to USB 3?

      USB is backwards compatable. I just ran a test and plugged the Behringer into a USB 3.0 and 3.1 port and it worked fine. It is normal to show up as a standard USB Audio device in device manager. When you open up your recording software you select ASIO from within your recording software AKA DAW. I don't know what software you are using to record music but somewhere in settings you will find an area to set up your hardware devices. When it comes to driver type make sure you select ASIO and you should see your Behringer.
      If the driver will not start then that means it is hardware related. Try updating the firmware. With these behringer mixers the firmware, app, and drivers work in sets. If you have an older firmware version but a newer driver then that may be causing your driver issues. If it is not the firmware then you should contact Behringer. This sounds like a hardware compatability issue to me.

      @@marcuscurtismusic thanks for the reply. I figured out what it was. I initially downloaded the USB Audio Driver 5.whatever INSTEAD of the X-UF Driver. Didn't see that one till I browsed another one of your videos🤦🏾
      All seem to be well now with Windows showing the driver as Behringer X-UF WDM.
      Hope this helps someone else here, thanks

    Hey Marcus, wondering if you can help me with this issue. I am stuck connecting my X32 to a laptop. I've downloaded the BEHRINGER X-USB Audio Driver V4.59.0 setup Wizard and now I'm getting "To complete the driver installation, you must disconnect and reconnect your device. I follow the instructions and release the dialog box and I get into a loop where it ask me over and over ""To complete the driver installation, you must disconnect and reconnect your device". My card is the X-USB, my laptop is fully updated to WIN 10 Pro. I am running the driver setup in compatibility mode as Admin, but nothing is seeming to get me past this issue. I have actually tried 2 different laptops and svveral USB 2.0 cables and I still cant get past it. Any thoughts?

      Hmmm, well the first thing I would do is check your firmware and see if it is compatible with the latest driver version. These things work in sets. Second I would look in device manager. Do you see a yellow checkmark or a yellow triangle? That would tell you if there is a hardware conflict. If that is the case update your firmware. does the device manager see anything at all?
      Right-click on the start button and go to device manager from there. If everything looks OK with no yellow boxes or check marks then you will only see two items listed as x32 in the device manager.
      From that point try downloading the app to control the mixer. I would look for hardware conflicts first. I am sorry it took so long to reply.

    x32 Producer with v 4.03 firmware: Installed XUSB Windows driver 4.59.0.55004 . When I open audio devices on Windows 10 computer, seeing under Audio Devices in Device Manager...Output = "Behringer USB 1-2" and for Input "Behringer USB 1-2". AND when I try to send multichannel to or from the X32 via XUSB I'm only getting main left and right. Do I need to update firmware on the XUSB card? (a separate operation from the firmware on the X32 board, I think). (BTW in Device Manager in Windows, only other option is RealTec audio speakers...no other Behinger option than USB 1-2)

      I am not in the studio right now so there is no way to double-check. But as I remember, the Device Manager will say XUSB 1 and 2 or Behringer 1 and 2. You need to go to the settings pannel in the mixer. Make sure your card configuration is 32 channels in and 8 out. Once that is done go to whatever DAW you use and make sure that every box for the X32USB is checkmarked.
      If you are using Cakewalk that is found under preferences. Press P on the keyboard to bring up the preferences window. Make sure you have the most current version of the Behringer app. An older version of the app will not work with the new firmware and you will get error messages.

      @@marcuscurtismusic thanks for your reply. I was successful in getting multiple channels to a DAW (Reaper) from the x32 on a Mac and on a PC yesterday, but still am struggling with getting separate channels to appear on X32 from either computer...other than a main mix of 2 channels out from the Mac or the PC (with me specifying Behringer Xusb as the audio output device). I did consider giving Cakewalk a try yesterday...but felt daunted in trying to mess around with another new thing when I don't feel I've got the x32, the xusb, various drivers, or my computers under control. (Did I mention that I'm a high school teacher working with a mac mini running elCapitan in the auditorium?)
      Tried borrowing a newer MacBook Pro yesterday, but that didn't go smoothly as there are no conventional USB a ports...and there appeared to be no detection of the x32 via a USB C to USB A dongle).
      BTW...I'm not trying to go 32 in and out ...I thought I'd just try 8 channels in and out given the age of the Mac, and I don't think we've got a huge need for 32 channels (we've only got 9 mics, for one thing).

      @@ebbtidetable Use whatever card configuration that works best for you. I suggest 32 in so you can see that any DAW application will support 32 channels at once. but if 8 is all you need then use 8. To my knowledge, you won't be able to get more than 2 inputs and 2 outputs from your PC or Mac computer. That is all that will be listed in the Device Manager. You only need two outputs for stereo mixes anyway. Beyond that what would you route them to? So the mixer will only playback and record in stereo using simple basic apps unless you are using a DAW. To my knowledge, that is the only way you break the two-track barrier.
      That being said the reason I use 8 out is so I can mix in surround sound inside of Cakewalk for editing video. If I am mixing a song I only really need two stereo outs anyway. You should try Cakewalk on your PC and see if you like it. It's free so the price is right.

      @@marcuscurtismusic I figured out the output from the Mac back to the x32...in Reaper it was a question of adding a 'hardware output' to each track inside Reaper (what I mean is the software uses software to route a track to the xusb card, but confusingly calls that process 'adding a hardware output'.

      @@ebbtidetable I am glad you got that resolved. Every DAW has a section like that and they all call it something different. In Cakewalk, there is a section under drivers that lists every channel on the mixer. I got to checkmark every channel in order for those channels to show up in Cakewalk so I can use them. The reason I select 32 in is so I can record from any channel on the mixer.

    I have updated my firmware to 4.0... and I have the new MacBook which takes usb - c.. Therefore, I connected to my x32 via usb... the usb connects to the hub, and the hub to the MacBook... After about 5-15 seconds of Logic recognizing X32 as an interface, it disconnects... then connects again, then disconnects... Its stressing me out!!! I just want to complete a multipack recording lol
    Have you heard of this problem, before? Is the usb hub the problem? Do I have to purchase a usb to usb c cable, to get directly
    into my computer? Hopefully someone can help

    • @marcuscurtismusic
      @marcuscurtismusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not heard of this problem before. When people connect their audio interface into a computer the generally make a direct connection to the computer. That will give you the best results. Changing out the cable may fix the problem but there are no guarantees. I would update the firmware and see if that fixes the problem. The latest version is actually 4.2, not 4.0. I remember having 4.0 firmware and I remember that version being buggy. When I updated the firmware it fixed the problems I was having. Try that first and see if it fixes the problem.

      @@rynovisionrl Don't plug into a USB hub. Plug directly into the computer. Try using USB 2.0 if you can. I tested the mixer with USB 3.0 and it seems to work fine. The latest firmware is 4.2 so update to that firmware if needed. Make sure you get the latest app to go with your firmware version. I think the latest one is 4.1. Make sure you have the latest driver too. I think it is 4.59 Once all this is accomplished you should see your mixer in the device manager window.

    Hey man! Great video, but I'm stuck on a pretty silly problem. I've downloaded the BEHRINGER X-USB Audio Driver V4.59.0 setup Wizard and now I'm getting "To complete the driver installation, you must disconnect and reconnect your device. Do you want to exit this wizard now and connect the device later?"
    I'm not sure what device it's referring to...? If I restart my computer will it automatically finish installation?

    • @marcuscurtismusic
      @marcuscurtismusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your device is referencing the Behringer mixer. Basically, it is saying that it does not see it after the driver installation so it wants you to unplug it from the USB port and then reconnect it. I typically don't install hardware drivers with the devices connected. It is a generic message. It is really no big deal. It should work now. You can verify it is working by going to Device Manager in windows. If you're stuck let me know and we will try to get it working for you.

    What drivers for Mac?

    • @marcuscurtismusic
      @marcuscurtismusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mac has a Core Audio driver and x32 is supposed to work with it as a Plug-and-Play device. You don't need any drivers, so it all boils down to configuring your host DAW.
      In a nutshell, you need to make sure x32 is selected as your input device in Garage Band's preferences or any other DAW you would be using. The next step is to configure inputs: each of the 16 audio tracks should have a separate x32 input selected as the source of incoming audio. Since all DAWs work in similar ways, there has to be a way of arming the tracks for recording and monitoring the incoming audio, as well. As for specifics, refer to x32 and Garage Band's website or manuals for details.
      There is also an app that allows you to control the mixer from an iPad or a Mac. That was hard to find on the Behringer's site as well. But I was able to find it in the Apple Store. You should know that some have reported problems using the app with the latest Behringer Firmware update. (4.02) If that is the case for you then you will need to go back to a previous firmware in order to get the app to work. 4.0 or 4.1 should work fine.
      www.apple.com/us/search/behringer?src=globalnav
      Hope that helps. Cheers!
