I end up rewatching this guide every time I have to cast off my loom. It works absolutely fantastic for arm warmers. The stretch is GREAT and the look is so clean. Thank you so much for making this comprehensive tutorial that even a total beginner like me can follow along!!
I'm fairly new to loom knitting and have been struggling with finding the best stretchy BO, especially for socks. This is, by far, the one that works the best for such projects. I truly appreciate your willingness to share this technique.
Denise! You are a God-send. I struggled with my boot cuffs being stretchy! Thank You so much for this video. I didn't even know there was a super stretchy bind off for the loom. Learning something new every day! Thank You ever so much! lol.
This is such a great technique. I love it and will use it for my boot cuffs and brimless hats. I am also going to make some gloves so this technique will surely help with that. Thanks so much for sharing your talents. I love your videos.
A million thanks. I couldn’t find another stretchy cast off video, yours is great and I need it for a scarf end. The previous scarf I made was ruined by the tight cast off. You’re a life saver.
Hi Denise. I have issues with my bind off being too tight, sometimes too loose. I kept the tension normal on this and it turned out just right. This is my go to bind off. Thank you for all you do. 🤗😼🥰
Hey J, Thank YOU for the Thank you and Thanks for sharing! And YEAH also I've noticed that when folks worry about the tension sometimes they make it worst. 🙂
I'm commenting here mostly so I'll remember this myself: Use more than 1.5x around the hat!!!!! I keep ending up short and having to tighten up my stitches when I get to the end. Go 2x around the hat before cutting your yarn....it's easy enough to trim later if it's too long!
I just LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! this stretchy bind off !!! Once you get the hang of it, it is just soooo easy and it looksAWESOME when you are finished with the little hat!!! Thank you Denise for this wonderful video and the time it takes to make these for us out here in loomy land! I have now completed the very second little hat that I can give to charity! Thanks again, my wonderful instructor, ((((((((((((HUGE HUGS)))))))))))))) Vikki
Wait - what - did you say second.... AWESOME ! I'm glad this bind-off is working for you Vikki - it's now my favorite favorite - for sure. Easy and sooooo many projects work well with it. Hugs my sister !
I made a head band from another site and my bind off was so loose. I knew if anyone would have a way to fix this you would 😁 You are a God send this newbie ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Your video was easy to follow and I was able to finish my daughter's tube scarf with your help. Thanks again!
You know...i just tried this and I believe it's my favorite bind off that I've found. All the others I've tried end up too loose/stretchy and wanna roll, or they're too stiff, or they're somehow both loose and stiff. But this one lays so pretty and is just right and I love it!
Perfect just what I have been searching for and you explained it so well. I was binding off a large yellow loom which required 3 wraps at the end and it came out just right that is after taking it apart after having tried other bind offsl.
Thank you for doing all these tutorials., I forgot to get the stitch markers and we are having a Nor'Easter tonight into tomorrow. This is the third one in 2 weeks. i will be able to watch the tutorials and take note ( I just have to hope the electric does not go out) and then ready to go either Wed or Thurs. to finally start a afghan. Thanks for all your talent and tutorials.
Love your video's!! so informative and step by step I can follow along so easily...I'm a Newbie and I'm waiting for a hat loom that I ordered..Want to work along with your hat video's! Love them and So Fun!!
Thanks for this video! I'm looming my first pair of socks and I see what I did wrong with the first sock; I misinterpreted this bind-off as "skip peg 3 and do 4 first after I've scooped 2&1."
With this bind-off are we supposed to do like you and skip two pegs and then go to skipping only one or is it better to skip two the whole way around for the extra stretch?
How do you use this technique for a brimless hat? I understand how to use it for a bind off, but since you work from the brim up on a hat how would you get the same stretchy effect? Thank you!!!
Does it matter what kind of stitches you have for the last row before the bind off? For example, the hat I’m making has a combination of purls and ewraps. Would it be better to do a whole row of ewrap or uwrap or purls before doing the bind off? This is a brimless hat worked from the top, so the bind off edge is the brim.
Hi Shelley- I would not do an additional row only becus it will “ show up “. I’ve done it in the past and didn’t like it. You’ll have a cleaner transition if you just go directly from the last row to the bind-off.
Thanks for video help Denise! I'm new to loom knitting and just completing my first project. Can you tell me after I take all the loops off using this method how do I then "close" the working yarn? Do I tie it or knot it or what? Thanks for your help :)
Hi Delia - hard for me to answer because how you "close" depends on the design of your project. But if you mean how to make the working yarn disappear - you would need to weave it into the fabric - you can do this with a crochet hook - just to a TH-cam search for "weaving in the ends" - I hope that helps some. Sorry if I misunderstood the question.
sent you a message on FB concerning a problem I ran into for the 1st time in making a pair of socks.....please respond as this is really got me in a spot of not being able to move forward....Thank you for all you share with us, but I couldn't locate the solution to my predicament....not the same name on FB
Hi- I get many many messages across all social media. You would have been better served by just asking your question instead. Sorry but I can’t help if I don’t know what the issue is.
Thank you this is just what I needed after making my ear warmer band to tight when I casted off, luckily it fit my 9 year old daughter. I'm going to have another go this way then we can have matching earbands :)
Hi Paula - this video is only for the bind-off. This is not a project. To add an I-cord to a project you usually have to knit it separately and then sew it on to the item. Here is a video on how to knit an one th-cam.com/video/qDcNNxZVENU/w-d-xo.html
Denise. HAVE A QUESTION. DID YOU ORIGINALLY DESIGN THIS METHOD. IF SO SOMEONE IS USING IT AND NOT GIVING YOU CREDIT PLEASE ANSWER. I REALLY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AS MOST DO IN THE LOOMING WORLD
Can someone please help me! I am somewhat new to loom knitting and I have lately been getting a weird diagonal line in my finished hats, is this an easy issue to fix??
Hi Avery, sorry that I missed this question - dont know if its too late but here is a video that might help some: th-cam.com/video/9VWI72fKl34/w-d-xo.html

I really like the stitch for making ear warmers

Wow now I'm learning more thank you so much
With this bind-off are we supposed to do like you and skip two pegs and then go to skipping only one or is it better to skip two the whole way around for the extra stretch?
What happens if I leave my cowl on the ring till all binding off is done?
Awesome. Thank you.
I h a ve been looking for a stretchy bind off thank you so much
Thank YOU for the Thank YOU Raeanne !!!
How do you use this technique for a brimless hat? I understand how to use it for a bind off, but since you work from the brim up on a hat how would you get the same stretchy effect? Thank you!!!
Can I go all the way around, THEN take the loops off?
I believe that's how you do it without the hack. Still stretchy but less so.
HELP! How to use this technique to end a flat panel for cast off????
Would you use this method when you are going to pull the working yarn to tighten, as in the bottom of a sock or use it at the top of the sock??
Thank you for this very well illustrated technique.YHWH bless.
would this method help for socks? i use sock yarn, tried every stitch, but still struggle with socks that fall down.

So do you leave two on then remove one or leave one on and remove one??? Confused
Ann Walker I'm confused too
confused as well, remove one or two, or does it matter?
Same question. Seems like it changes in the last part of video.
I think you leave two and remove one. It worked for me that way, but idk.
Was just going to ask the same.
Thanks for video help Denise! I'm new to loom knitting and just completing my first project. Can you tell me after I take all the loops off using this method how do I then "close" the working yarn? Do I tie it or knot it or what? Thanks for your help :)

How can I add a I cord to this
