I got same motor, thank you so much for this video. it came to me in California in 2 days! (5 since I have ordered) by DHL.
I will try to use it as spindle motor for my small mill.

Thank you for this video. I would also like to buy such set, 750W. I would control it with step and dir sistem, using smoothstepper. I was wondering if you already tested it on machine? Someone was reporting some overshoot issues with these so called "KRS" drives. I would appriciate any info..

Hi, you've already answered one of my most pertinent questions about how to get encoder feedback to Mach3, but is the output from those drives the same as if it were coming directly from the encoder, as in just a pass through? Also, are you commanding the drives with Step/Direction pulses or are you using analogue 0-10v signals? If you could send me a copy of manual for those drivers I'd be very grateful ;) The situation I have is actually going to end up in a linuxcnc system, currently I use a mesa setup driving steppers with a step/direction card, but I would like servos and drivers that I could use the same kit with and at a later stage add encoder feedback capability. Thanks in advance, your video is the closest I've found to the answers I need so far!

are you getting a good amount of power? I just installed 4 of these on a build but i havent connected the motion control yet. I went with 1.2kw for the XY, 2.6kw for Z and .6kw for the 4th axis. Servos are identical but my amplifiers look a little different. My manuals are all Chinese so i am unsure about connecting CN2 to the motion control.

How correctly servo is this connected to the controller, what items should be programmed? Tell me if it's not difficult.

What breakout board are you using with Mach3 and how are you hooking up the servo motor to the BOB. What settings are you using with Mach3

how much power you could get out of it as spindle motor? on low RPM?

I notice you are running Mach 3 here. Did you dump Mach 4?

I'm trying to hook up the encoder to the acorn and what I don't know is where to hook the 5+VDC from the acorn encoder plug into the servo driver. what I do know is that on page 2.3.2 of the manual A+ is pin 20 A- is pin 19 B+ is pin 19 B- is pin 17 Z+ is pin 15 Z- is pin 16 GND is pin 1 and the only remaining pin is pin 22 and that is called OZ (Z open collector output) so I would thing that since that pin 22 is the only remaining pin; that it must be the 5+VDC for the encoder?????? oh man its always the last bolt you un-tighten that breaks off LOL on the acorn encoder plug it has pin 9=+5VDC pin7=A+ pin 8=B+ pin5=B- pin 6=Z+ pin 3=Z- pin 2=COM so it seems all so clear that A+ A- B+ B- Z+ Z- GND (COM) all have their places to connect to, but it's that 5+VDC pin 9 on the acorn that I dont know where to plug it in on the db25 connector on the servo driver, do you know if it plugs into the pin 22 OZ (Z open collector) please help, I am going crazy LOL

Hi, just picked up your video. I am interested in one set to use as a mill spindle drive. Was the user manual that came with it in good English or Chenglish as most are. Have you done any info on the Servo drive connections to breakout boards. I want to use USB Smoothstepper. Any information would be appreciated.

Curious how the motors/drives are working at this point 3 years later?

I ve had set for well over 3 years now used most of the day 5 days a week on a bed mill. Just ordered another set for a second machine ,z axis braked version. Cost me about 1100 quid atm in uk. 3 axis.

@@keytools197 I would appreciate if you share your out site relay array, because apparently it needs one, I have the same motor but not yet installed.

Very interesting , could you right down the pin-out of the db25 connector please , i'm running mach3 with a c11 breakout board and in witch fonction i have to write the code number to match servo and motor , it would be very helpfull . Thank you and best regards

Hello JazzCNC , it would be very kind of you for some info about the db25 connector pin out , look like you really know how it works and it would be fun to see info or video of the project with the servo setup ! . Thank you and best regards

Hello, my servo can be moved by hand and when I turn it back to the point.
I need you to have more strength and not move.
you know what parameter you have to adjust
hola, mi servo se puede mover con la mano y cuando lo sueto vuelve al punto.
necesito que tenga mas fuerza y no se mueva.
usted sabe que parametro hay que ajustar
    gracias

What kind of rapids? Direct drive?

    • @jazzcnc2564
      @jazzcnc2564  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Impossible to answer without knowing the pitch of ballscrews. The motor will spin at 3000Rpm continous so just multiply the pitch by RPM and this will give you ballpark figure on rapids. However lots of other parameters come into play to determine maximum speed you'll achieve, things like screw length and diameter of screw, Gantry mass etc.
Don't get hung up on rapid speeds because machine will spend most of it's time cutting at much lower feeds and only on large machines that make lots of positional moves ie: Drilling do they become more important.
