I've bought loads of bike stuff of AliExpress. 3d printed carbon saddle, carbon gravel handle bars, fizik bar tape, Shimano bottom bracket, brake bleeding kit and quality has been fantastic and turned my giant revolt into a super light weight gravel bike.
Same here with my SL6, bar tape, tpus, bottle cages, saddle...also tools as that bleeding kit and maintenance tools of $1 or less for the chain etc
I reduced like 400 grams from the bike for a minimum amount of money.
What bars did you end up getting? I’m looking into them right now!

@@GregJC I had a ryet one in my cart It was around $30 that's the best price for that one I've seen. The design in the video is one of like 4-5 designs out there and doesn't look to be the best one.
Great intermezzo David! You might want to try:
- Ridenow oe Cyclami TPU tubes (tried by many cyclists, but I’m on tubeless)
- Cycplus or Cyclami electric pump (tried; on my saddle bag now; excellent)
- Rhinowalk saddle bags (tried; very very good; water resistance is excellent)
- Magicshine front & rear lights (tried; very good)
- Santic attire. They are the first Chinese cycling attire to sponsor some team, including some World Team(?)

Since I got another road bike, I decided to go back to tubes and went with the Ridenow ones. I've been on them for about 6 months and they have been great. I'd prefer tubless, but don't want the hassle with two bikes. Well, three including my gravel bike which remained tubless of course.
@@DaveCM always remember the formula: the ideal number of bikes you have to own is N+1 😂
I think you got unlucky with the saddle. The ryet saddles seem great and I've just bought one.
I bought a Ryet one last November. Have done over 2000km on it, indoors on the trainer and outside, it has been fantastic.
For the same price you paid for that saddle you could of bought a genuine carbon fibre saddle thats actually quite comfortable. It pays to shop around on Temu and Aliexpress.

Aliexpress has TPU tubes at reasonable prices. If your still using bike inner tubes. They are cheap enough and make great spares for your saddle bag if you use Tubeless tires.
I bought the RideNow TPU tubes after seeing tons of reviews about them on TH-cam. They've been great for ~150 miles of light gravel and paved riding over the last 3-ish months. I haven't had any flats or punctures. They are quite a bit smaller and lighter than butyl tubes as well if you're thinking about packing one in an emergency kit.
Same here. Ride now. At around £4 if bought as 3 or 4 delivered superb value.

Thanks Dave. You bring truth to saying "buy cheap pay twice". Oz Cycles has done a similar review to this and as with you highlights caution when purchasing as not always do goods live up to expectations. Steve on Oz Cycles has been good in that he's been able to suss out the better quality stuff to consider. Your reviews are really worth following. I really enjoy them

5:06 - I have these shades and honestly - I like them more than Okleys Sutro. How it come? Well, it's all about rounded earpieces - they keep the glasses in place, even when I'm sweaty, smashing these intervals, bouncing my head trying to catch my last breath. For 3-4 GBP I can only recommend. PS: Even photochromic is _acceptable_, For sunny days, let's say - 20-25C ... Cheers!
Glad you have had a great experience, I was very disappointed with a seatpost I ordered.
Got some of these products for my leisure cycling.
I owned the flat type of that similar shoes(not the clipless type), works well for me.
Also own a few glasses(the white one also)from scvcn brand, they are great! Some sunglasses for day and photochromic for day and night use. Cheap and good, no condensation and not afraid to lose or spoiled it. Can change different pair for different ride.
The allen key on that tool come tapered at the tip. If you noticed it, it is not the material but the smaller tip that round the bolt. I throw away the tool after my first use.
The light depend on luck. Got few of them because is very cheap!!!! One came spoil, unable to charge and inside the electronic board was loose. The few other i brought were great and still using them. The light is easy to attached to any bike and helmet(with simple diy to fix on helmet). Battery can last more than 3-4 hours on flashing mode and 2hrs on light mode.

I've got that "3d" saddle on my bike and really like it. The material is very grippy and fits my specific shape well. It was a massive upgrade from the uncomfortable saddle that came with my bike. The quality is good and I've spent probably 30 hours on mine. I don't have much to compare against but for me it gets a thumbs up
Got the same lights, there's another set you can find that has a red one + a more proper front light (only solid and flashing modes, but it's one you can actually aim), and if you get lucky you can get the whole set for $2 USD. I bought one as a bit of a curiosity, then ended up going back and buying five, simply because they're so simple and lightweight and cheap enough that I can carry a spare and give them away to folks I find riding in the dark without any lights on.
Are they especially great? Not really, but wow are they good for the price, and honestly as a taillight it's outlasted a few more expensive ones I've tried that had fancier modes but ran out of battery too quick to be useful, etc. The taillight also is small and light enough that you can attach it to the back of a helmet, etc.

The saddle rebranded as Riro brand here in Indonesia and it only cost 8,5 pounds, 😂 I found it verrrry comfy for long ride
I had that saddle on my bike for about five minutes and went back to my Selle SMP.
EC 90 saddle. Don't know if it's Easton or what but it was only $29 and it's a super good saddle. Bought a bunch and put one on every bike I own.
Bought some under vests from temu,couple of quid. Can’t fault them .
I got some excellent carbon bottle cages for under $20
The bell is probably better quality than the original.
Never buy the cheapest stuff..and not the most expensive..but nice video🎉. That bell is a pure bargain though...😊
if you want serious stuff for compare with high end saddle. then you should pick up saddle from this china major brand

the latest RYET carbon saddle is so good not like in the past today their recent product have good flex and better padding.
No point comparing £18 saddle with £300 equivalent, however it's probably a massive improvement on the standard saddle that comes with most bikes

According to my personal experience, the saddle is very comfortable, I tried riding for about 80km without padded pants and did not feel any soreness

With regard to the saddle, they have full carbon 3D printed saddles, supposedly. About 50/60 euro. Anybody had any experience with these? Are they any better?
I've got two Zeeus saddles from AliExpress. 3d printed top, carbon base, carbon rails for about €50 to €60. About 160 grams. Rode the one for about a year and decided to get another one for my other bike as well.
Comfort will be subject to the riders weight and bone structure ofcourse but I love 'm (I weigh 72kg btw). Except when they've collected snow. 🙄
The problem with this app is when you delete or uninstall. Days after you still receive sales information from the site
One thing to consider with low value poor quality product is that it adds significantly to landfill
I prefer to support companies that have some sort of ethical code .
I value innovations, and not imitators and copiers. So this year I paid for a Specialized saddle (titanium rail). It's ok because I don't buy high-end bikes or much of other stuff.
I‘d rather spend a bit too much on the glasses and not worry if they have adequate UV protection, tbh.
It would have been helpful if you could have stated the saddle weight. What is the definition of heavy?

I think it would have been good to comment on the environmental impact of low-quality parts and accessories. I know that lots of the bits I buy and use come from the far east but at least they are well made, durable and come from companies that are at least considering their carbon footprints. A 60p “disposable” front light may be cheap but it’s not “good”. Someone or something is paying the price so that we can buy this rubbish.
I did 200k on that same saddle and it was not great, but better than the one I had before without a cut out lol

The question you need to ask yourself is are you willing to spend your money on items made in Chinese sweatshops?
Do you really think the expensive brands aren't made in "Chinese sweatshops"?
If you get foot pain from riding in soft shoes, how do you go on touring rides, with flat pedals and street shoes? That seems like the baseline measurement any cycling shoes should be compared, unless those shoes has some other serious design flaw other than softness mentioned in the video.

@@davidarthur a lot of local riders here in the Philippines are using those Speed/Tabulo shoes and they've served it's purpose. but the quality ones should be those with brands like Santic/Side bike

Not always. Bought a cheap carbon saddle from aliexpress 3.5 years ago for 23 euro. Still works and was so comfortable I bought two more for my other two bikes.

Where the Oakleys earn their keep (over the cheap knockoff glasses) is if you have the misfortune to crash in them - when you won't have to have fragments of the Oakley frame / lens surgically removed from you.
