Simply AMAZING! thank you for sharing, I may not be able to watch live these ultra talented musicians in my lifetime but I'm lucky enough to have watched them perform even on you tube.
Most fascinating, in particular the casenzas in each movement. In the first mvt. she evidently used the Wolfgang-Schneiderhan Cadenza with the lovely timpany dialogues. Did she play on the legendary Dornröschen Stradivarius violin? Maybe one of the SWR musicians could let us know!?
Thank you for the comment! And yes, indeed, she plays the Dornröschen Stradivarius violin. In this video, which was made during the concert project, she talks about it, among other things: th-cam.com/video/vMZgYxCRb-U/w-d-xo.html
Some of the lower notes of the violin sound distorted, almost harsh. Is that an artifact of that particular violin or is that the soloist plying that way?
@pcostafloripa It is a transcription of Beethoven's original cadenzas for the piano version op. 61a by Wolfgang Schneiderhan.
