Beethoven's triple concerto was absolutely gorgeous, immpecable... but the interpretation of Beethoven's 5th is amonngst the best I've ever seen and heard... I just put it in the background to listen to it while I was trying to work... I had to suspend it to watch it... marveolous, you can see, hear and feel how the orchestra is enjoying the performance and how they are really playing together. Antonioni is such a great conductor!

Die Folge der aufgeführten Stücke in diesem Konzert ist ganz bewusst gewählt! Interessante Reihenfolge: Erst das Tripelkonzert, dann 5. Symphonie und am Schluss Prometheus - der Unterwelt.
Just listened, no more than 4 days ago, to the Itzhak Perlman/Yo-Yo Ma/Daniel Barenboim/Berliner Philharmoniker performance and this recording shines brightly above that one. Stellar!
@@olarkenesbjug6546 Barenboim was just mailing it in and there's something to be said, indeed for me it was the difference maker, for youthful enthusiasm.

They make a nice living treading on their reputations, when there are younger, hungrier players, to whom the music is fresh, that give an old man like me confidence that it will live forever.
Wow, maybe the best performance I have ever heard in this piece. These performers bringout the true greatness of this piece! So unified in approach, and such great communication between soloists. Wonderful conducting, orchestral playing, and soloistic work.

This is such a wonderful performance of this piece!! Beethoven is like Bach….I always know they composed whatever piece I happen to hear somewhere, or if my husband plays something, but their compositional art is so out of this world that the pieces don’t sound like any other piece. I love their music so much!
Fantastic recording, give the sound recording engineer and venue an applause. Perfrect cast and a gold label recording vs the other recordings in the world. Modernized condenser mics, mic noise removal etc, they pull off superb layering and mixing.
