Nice review. The Pritt glue is made in Mexico. No problem to get it in Canada. It comes on special just before school starts in August. So I buy my tubes at this time for the all year. I works well for paper on paper as well as fabric on paper. I keep my tubes in a Ziploc bag to avoid dryness and it works great. I have tested to keep on tube for three years in a bag and it works well after all that time. On special, 1g = 0,03 Canadian $. When not on sale it can reach 0,07 $ depending where you buy it. But it is still less expensive than the Basic Amazon brand and more ecological because of the size of the plastic tube of 42 g of glue. Merci. 😊
FYI I live in Spain and we use Pritt stick as the preferred school glue. the teachers specificly ask for it because it works like no other. it also comes in the colour purple, so you can see what you can see where you are putting it, but once it dries it turns clear. it also comes in 3 diffrent sizes and works wonderfully. Faber Castell also has great products and is very popular but not the glue. Oh and the Pritt stick is a German company
Thank you so much Dyanesa. I didn't realize that Pritt what is a German company. I am hoping to go to Barcelona either in September or October of this year. It will be my first time visiting your country.
Great review! I too used many and found the Scotch Permanent stick to be the one for my card crafting. Dries clear, cards stay intact and fairly priced. This one comes in a mostly white with a bit of red on label. So far the best for me and able to purchase at BJ’s in a large pack which last almost a year and I make about 40 cards a month.
Thank you so much for your comment Suze. Do you by chance have a TH-cam channel so I could look at the card you make? I think you may have heard me say before I was a card maker for years prior to becoming a journal maker.
Thank you so much Pam. I hope your new year is off to a good start. It was so fun to see the bags that you have made for Sarah. You are extremely talented my dear.
Another test would be longevity and heat. As you are in AZ and I am TX it can get pretty hot, so how long do the tags stay stuck would be a great follow-up! Thank you for taking the time to review products for us! Happy New Year!
Thanks Juanette for doing this video! I have tried some of the ones you demonstrated and have had some of the same results. I love the Coccoina and Scotch and have had no issues.
I always enjoy when you do comparison videos. I have a hard time with glue sticks because the humidity is high here in Fl. I am going to try the scotch glue. TFS🌴💕Happy New Year
You did such a great job on this comparison video! I LOVE the tags you created, the images are gorgeous! And I use the Elmer's but just may switch to the Scotch purple now! LOL! Thank you for doing this!!! 🤗
So today I wondered which was the best to buy. You've made such an excellent comparison. Perfect timing even though some of the makes are not available in UK. Just found you so subscribed. Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to do this! comparison! I really enjoyed it. I personally prefer clear glues and my favorites are the Tombow and Pritt ones (they are also easy to get a hold on here in Sweden)
Happy New Year Juanette!! Same thing happened here at Christmas. My son and his family got the flu!! Last minute changes and one of our daughter's had the rest of us at her house. Now hubby and I have colds. 😅 My favorite glue stick is the Scotch Creates permanent glue. I've tried others including the UHU and don't like them for easy application. Thanks for doing these comparisons for us!! 💜
Happy New Year Juanette, thanks for sharing your take on glue sticks. I’m not a fan of usu glue either, my is Scotch permanent & worked on fabric. Thank you for the update pictures of sweet Fiona! Have a wonderful day!🤗💜🌻💕🐶
Hi Juanette! I am new on your channel. I live in Québec Canada, and I have tried lots of those glues (some are hard to get here. My favorites are UHU white and scotch creative glue, Scotch being my ultimate favorite (a bit expensive but worth it). Happy New Year! By the way, you have a new subscriber! 😊
I wish I could find a glue that goes on blue or purple and one that does not curl my paper. That’s why I’m not such a fan of glue sticks. Love the tutorial. Thank you.🩷
I think the reason they curl the paper Cindy is because they are water-based. I just lay mine underneath a couple of heavy books for a day and they flatten out. You might want to try that.
Fantastic review! I have used Rachel's (Roxycreations) Giotto glue stick for Fabrics and it is wonderful. I order a large batch from an art store (don't remember name) in the UK. Jackson's Arts? It is more costly to ship to USA so I buy many at a time. I have many UHU glue sticks and have had problems with lifting edges so this was a useful/helpful video. I like that your channel focuses on tips/reviews/useful information. Happy New Year! ~Terri 🎉 😊 ❤
My favorite glue stick is permanent Pritt. However they’re not in the USA anymore. I used to buy it by the box in office supply stores. Amazon has them but it’s way too expensive.
Thank you sooo much Juanette for testing out all these glue sticks! Personally sometimes I get stuck because the only glue sticks available in store in my area are the Elmers and Uhu. Much appreciation for this very useful video on glue sticks! Hugzz💖 Have a beautiful day!
Boy did I need to hear that about my sweet little miss Fiona. Another subbie just told me that she ruined the video. I doubt if I will ever do a review on liquid glues because there are only two that are use. I use 3 in 1 glue and art glitter glue. Those are the two that I think are the best on the market. Big hugs to you for your kindness. @@cherriberri7161
Nancy from @wishesandweeds got me going on Target gluestick a couple years ago and it's definitely my fave too. I think I was like you and tried every stick on the market and settled on Target. I'm up in Canada, so I have to get some every time I pop across the border.
@@JuanettesCraftingCorner It would not surprise me in the least to find out that Scotch actually MAKES the Target brand. I've searched high and low to find out. Most store brand items are actually made by another higher-up company. For example (and this is TMI from 20 years ago for me 🤣) was when I like the Shoppers Drug Mart brand tampons. I took the time to write to them and tell them how much I loved their product. Their PR department phoned me back and the young woman I spoke to said "This probably won't surprise you, but Playtex actually makes our store brand tampons! So when you buy our tampons you are actually getting Playtex for a much lower price!". So, like I said, I wonder if Scotch actually makes the Target gluestick. Well there you go... my TMI in your notes for the day. LOL! Have a good one! 👋😀
Now that I think of it I'll bet you are correct target wouldn't make their own glue stick they have another company make them and then they put their label on it.@@CatherineSunnysideJournals
Thanks for such an informative review. I use the glue stick from Italy. I buy it by the box. I did notice when applying the glue, you had a tendency to spend a little bit more time in insuring the coverage with the colored glue sticks, I’m sure it had to do with you could see where you were applying. I’m sure I would have done the same. I will probably be buying cheaper glue based on your video.
Thank you so much for pointing out that I was spending more time ensuring the coverage with the glue sticks with the ones I could see. I didn't notice that. I wonder if that was the reason I didn't like some of them. Great point.
Beautiful paper for tags- Pioneer makes a glue stick for photos and scrapbooking and it claims to be permanent - l used it and l am still on the fence- glue sticks fail me- l am interested in the tomboy mono aqua stick l never knew that existed-l love their glue
Happy New Year Juanette! Thanks for the comparisons. I’ve tried most of those except the Target brand I’ll have try that. Have you tried Scotch Create or the Amazon brands? Right now I’m having luck with those. . Hugs to Fiona ☮️💖✨
Thank you so much for that information. There have been many people giving me the thumbs up on the Pritt glue. I think I need to give it another chance.
This was great! Thank you!! I was using the scotch for some time, and then I THOUGHT someone said it may not be “archival” and could yellow over time????? Is that actually an issue do you think? Maybe I didn’t understand or something.
Well I have boycotted Target for at least 2 years ago so that is out of the question. I would like to know which ones are acid free because I want my stuff to last longer. I won’t use glues that aren’t. Thanks for doing this. I forget which live I was on, maybe Kate’s when you said you were gonna do this
The glue sticks shouldn’t dry out if they have never been opened, at least in my opinion. I like the purple ones better, too but I have a large supply of the clear ones to use up before I buy anymore.
Thank you so much Cheryl. It seems like if you lived in a more humid climate they wouldn't dry out. However being here in Arizona where it's extremely dry they do tend to dry out.
Thank you so much for your comment Lynn. When I buy glue sticks now I store any extras that I'm not using in a plastic bag in a drawer. I think that helps them keep moist.
