  • The tight battle between MacBook Pro M1 and the HP Spectre x360 housing Intel’s latest 11th Gen mobile processor with integrated graphics. Which laptop will come out on top? ►⏩►⏩ Check specs and pricing in the links below…
    💻 MacBook Pro 13in M1 ( geni.us/MBP-M1-512gb - Commission Earned )
    💻 HP Spectre x360 i7-1165G7 Xe ( geni.us/Spectrex360-Xe - Commission Earned )
    ⚡⚡ Get a 30-day trial with Sonata -- the amazing cinematic and royalty-free music I use in my videos -- geni.us/sonata-music ⚡⚡
I have run the HP Spectre x360 and MacBook Pro 13 M1 through 14+ creator focused benchmarks covering video editing in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, motion design, graphic design, photo editing, and more.
Jumping right into the build quality both laptops have very different appearances. First off I am not surprised to see the MacBook Pro M1 with its continued aluminum finish and silver apple logo. Although I must say I sure do miss the glowing apple logo. I am guessing they removed that to make the laptop slightly thinner and lighter.
The HP Spectre x360 on the other hand comes with stunning gold-colored aluminum edges and hinges plus an all-aluminum chassis. It really stands out from all laptops in its category and compared to the MacBook Pro it gives it a run for its money.. Both look great, but I must say the HP Spectre is quite a bit fancier while the MacBook Pro tackles that more, well, conservative look.
Both have solid build quality, but the MacBook Pro stands out to be built better overall, as they have become known for over the past 25 years.
As I open the lid on each of these laptops I am able to do so with one hand. The hinges are smooth and strong. There is only a slight bit of screen flex on the Spectre x360, which is fantastic, while the MacBook Pro M1 has none due to its singular long hinge spanning the entire bottom bezel of the screen. Both are solid and sturdy, but once again Apple takes the prize for build and sturdiness.
What about the ventilation on each laptop? The Spectre x360 has generous vents for cooling the laptop. It has vents on the bottom cover, along the top of the keyboard deck, and side panels. This is very different from the MacBook Pro, which only has one vent behind the Keyboard deck.
The 2020 MacBook Pro M1 comes with a 13.3 inch Retina display that can reach 303 nits at full brightness. The M1 pulls off some solid color accuracy snagging a color gamut range of 100% sRGB - 89% Adobe RGB - 100% DCI-P3.
The HP Spectre x360 comes with a 15.6 inch FHD display that can reach 362 nits at full brightness with a color gamut range of 97% sRGB - 77% Adobe RGB - 79% DCI-P3 all at an average Delta E of 1.37.
Concerning the on the go capability of these two laptops the:
HP Spectre x360 weighs in at 2.9 Lbs at a thickness of 0.67 inches
Where as the MacBook Pro M1 weighs in at 3.0 Lbs at a thickness of 0.61 inches
    Concerning battery life the
The HP Spectre x360 will get roughly 10 Hours Web browsing / 5 - 7 hours Design and Video Editing out of its 72.9 Wh battery.
Whereas the MacBook Pro M1 will get roughly 14 Hours Web browsing / 8 - 9 hours Design and Video Editing with its 58.2 Wh battery
The HP Spectre x360 I am reviewing comes with:
CPU: Intel Core i7-1165G7 (4 Cores 8 Threads)
    GPU: Intel Iris Xe
    RAM: 16GB DDR4
    Storage: 512GB SSD
Whereas the 2020 MacBook Pro M1 comes with:
    CPU: Apple M1 (8 Cores 8 Threads)
GPU: 8 Core GPU + 16 Core Neural Engine
    RAM: 8GB DDR4
Let’s talk about my recommendations for each one of these laptops. If you are a hard-core 4k or 6k video editor, then without a doubt, I would steer you away from both of these laptops and check out my head to head review of the Zephyrus G14 and MacBook Pro M1. The New MacBook Pro M1 simply does not have the power and ability nor does the x360. However if you are considering either of these laptops for Photoshop work such as photo editing, digital art, or even graphic design work in Indesign or Illustrator then the x360 is great due to its fully articulating screen and touch pen capabilities. Oh, and unmatched styling.
If you’re someone that occasionally conducts 4k edits, and mainly finds themselves developing, designing, editing photos, or conducting digital art, then the MacBook Pro will be perfect. It can handle what you throw at it and it has a great color accurate display. Oh plus, you can be on the go longer with the legendary 15ish hours of battery life. And of course your inside Apple’s eco system, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Downloaded Logic Pro X and some audio patches, and setting up / pulling in gigs of email, updated pages, numbers, garage band, etc. Some TH-cam browsing, several chrome tabs working on cloud based business software portal, ran a quick windows Remote Desktop session to test. Still at 93%. Ice cold. No fan noise (obviously) but fan not needed. This thing is amazing! Cant wait for parallels to get compatible with the M1. Never look back. Although I am sure windows will crash my battery life, but will be interesting to see on this model. If not for work software requiring windows, I would not need do even do that. For those in India, I would strongly recommend against buying the hp x360. I bought one from the official store. On the 5th day, things started messing up so I claimed for a replacement. Took me a month of wait but didn't get a replacement. My money's stuck and now I have to go over the search process again. HP's service is horrible too. On average, my call is transferred 5 times before they hang up because my problems aren't solved.. Just a bad experience and I wanted to warn you

I got envy x360 laptop but it wasn't working well with the keyboard (some keys aren't working ) so I asked for the replacement as DOA . Technician visited my place checked all and confirmed with hardware defects and issue an DoA certificate. Within 7 working days I got my new sealed box hp envy from the same official outlet from where I bought . So in terms of service Im happy with it

You don't have the correct HP Spectre model.
Also, why compare a laptop with 2010 hardware to one with 2020 hardware.
    MBs don't have:
    1. touch screen
    2. pen support
    3. 2-in-1 design
    4. 180-degree screen capabilities
    5. microSD slot
    6. 4k resolution
    7. face recognition
    8. webcam kill switch
    9. number pad
    10. upgradability
Not to mention their history of:
    1. keyboard issues
    2. green screen issues
    3. overheating
    4. thermal throttling
    5. class-action lawsuits every year including 2020
    6. twice as many malware attacks as Windows devices.
    As for M1 chip:
-battery life is FINALLY on par with the best Windows laptops
(I get nearly 15 hours of continuous TH-cam viewing on my 15.6" HP Spector x360), and
-performance gains disappear on non-optimized apps
In short, there's a reason HP's (24.7%) market share is 3.5 times larger than Apple (7%)...lol

    • @julianstark9483

Your geekbench benchmarks are way, WAY of. I am yet so see ANYONE stating that the M1 chip beats a ryzen 4800u in geekbench.
And you actually do have the 10th gen intel model, and there are multiple reasons hinting towards this:
      1. there's literally a 10th gen intel sticker on the machine. Your thumbnail shows the 11th gen sticker.
      2. If you had the 11th gen model, you would have thunderbolt 4 on there.
      3. You can't even order the machine with 11th gen and a GTX graphics card.
      4. The 11th gen 15inch model has a 11th gen intel sticker and an intel iris XE sticker.
Glad you love the M1 chip, and I agree, the thing is amazing. But these comparisons are just so off.

The 1165G7 has only 4 logical cores, and still outperforms the M1 with 8 cores in Photoshop and After Effects.
So what's all the hype about Apple M1 processors? What if Intel switched to a 5-7 nm chip

    • @purpmint3116
      @purpmint3116 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Exactly. Intel is behind in the fabrication/foundry game. But, when they catch-up or hire someone to help them catch-up, you'll see similar performance.

    • @amex4453
      @amex4453 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It's because those apps are based on Intel (x86) architecture and the M1 is emulating them through Rosetta 2. However, Adobe has released arm version of those apps now. If he conducts the tests again you should see at least a 20% performance boost.
