You know one thing I loved about Kale? He was straight up bad. No redemption arc, no nothing. Just stupid ass cartoon villain. I miss those sometimes. Also cool that he explodes. Love how bosses just EXPLODE and no one says anything about it.
It's amusing how it wasn't even a take over the world plot. Kale never considered building a mind controlled army, he just wanted them to have no choice in buying from his company.
@@SwiftpawWolffox YEAH, I was thinking about that when I said "stupid cartoon villain", but forgot to actually mention it, it is just SO GOOD, together with his last line before exploding being "it's just too much work".
The best part? He talked about AMBITION lol. Mans didn't even have ambition he was just petty. Petty in a way that honestly is working quite well in our world nowadays
This is why, after beating the game myself, I still watched videos. There's a lot of cool details you miss when you're focusing on the actual game play. It doesn't sink in (sync in? Hah!) that EVERY-FREAKING-THING is with the beat until you can just sit and watch it.
One thing I just noticed was the only real character design change (excluding Korsica) was Chai getting a pin on his jacket in the credits to show he works for Vandelay now. I know obviously they aren't going to make huge changes but I see a lot of shows, movies and games having a different design to show a character change. But this really hits the nail of "You can be a better person without completely changing" right on the head. While all the characters developed throughout the game I feel like a big theme of the game is staying true to oneself and not changing just to fit the bill. But that's enough rambling, I just love this game and it's characters.
He does also get a robot arm right at the start, that's a pretty big character design change. (Although admittedly without the later character development he's just kind of still a disaster.)
Not to say that any boss fight in Hi Fi Rush was bad in particular, but I was worried still that Kale was going to be in some giant robot or something, and it would be one of those big, lumbering, slow kind of bosses, so imagine my delight when he pulls out the sword and I realize "oh this is going to be a REAL duel!" We going full-DMC5 Vergil here!
This game is my one excuse to finally listen to NIN and I can now say that.. yeah, I don't like their music. At least not for listening on my own time. Having The Perfect Drug as a final boss theme though was stellar. The verses had me stressed and focused on staying alive, but hearing the chorus on loop was epic and invigorating. That paired with the stormy environment, Kale's design and his slow walking animations... like holy shit dude.
As a long time NIN fan I can honestly say that's understandable. Trent experiments a LOT with his sound to the point where he has a distinctive sound while no two songs sound alike. His music is not for everyone, but I respect you took the time to try it out.
@@rocksteady2263 Yeah I've always heard that about them. I respect experimental stuff a lot though, so I think if I listened to more of their stuff in the future, I'll come around to it. Plus, just learned my sister is a fan, so I might ask her what her favorites are and check those out too :>
@@Spicygoats probably the closest NIN have to a conventional rock hit would be hand that feeds, which would be my recommendation. I like the live version, which you can find here if you have an interest. th-cam.com/video/RDk5NB3pgJo/w-d-xo.html
non-streamer mode is more dangerous for TH-cam with Content ID and stuff, especially during a livestream where you can't test the waters before potentially getting nuked. But with the licensing and stuff, LEGALLY you should be in the clear probably? It really is just the practical concern because YT sucks

@@frawbo oooooh ok, i assumed it must’ve been the assist button, but I didn’t know the reverb gauge part. That must be why I haven’t been able to do it lol. Thanks!

Hi Fi Rush to me, radiated early 2000’s gaming, friends, and one kickass playlist
Finally, me as a Nine Inch Nails fan, can rest after seeing this boss fight without streamer mode
God they could not have picked a BETTER tune for this final boss what a STUNNER.

I feel the same way honestly, but The Perfect Drug and 1000000 are fantastic songs for their respective boss fights.

Not always. Sometimes the videos just get claimed and all the revenue from ads goes to the artist and not to the uploader. Depends on the music
