Many patterns will indicate to chain 2 and to single crochet in the first chain the number stitches needed in the magic ring, rather than the typical magic ring technique. I find that way works great for me too.
this is the easiest cow pattern i’ve seen. it took me three days to find a pattern i could learn which is beginner friendly and i could only understand yours ❤
That was one of the best tutorials i have seen. Im a very beginner in making the little animals. You did a fantastic job. Thank you. Going to make one of these today. ❤❤
For any one struggling I just wrote the pattern for you to read ARMSx2 (second color) row1: 8 sc in magic ring row2: 8 sc (main color) row 3-4: sc 8 fold arm in half, through both sides 4sc across the fasten off leave tail LEGS & BODY (second color) row1: 6sc in magic ring row2: inc x6 (12) row3: sc 12 (Main color) Row 4-6: sc 12 fasten off leave tail connect first leg to other w/ sc row7: 12sc in first leg, 12sc in second leg (24) row8-9: sc 24 use tail from 1st leg to sew the gap between legs shut row10: sc 2, dec x6 (18) row11: sc, dec, _sc, dec, sc_, dec, sec, dec, _sc, dec, sc_, dec(12) _where you add the arms and crochet them in stuff body and tie the arms tails together Row12: 6 Dec (6) row13: inc x6 (12) row14: inc x12 (24) row15: 5 sc, inc x4 (28) row16-20: sc 28 (28) row21: 5sc, dec, x4 (24) row22: Dec x12 (12) place eyes between rows 17&18 6 stitches apart and stuff head row23: Dec x6 (6) fasten off sew the 6 stitches closed EARSx2 (Second color) row1: 6 sc in magic ring row2: inc x6 (12) row3: sc 12 fold ear and close a couple stitches together Sew ears on rows 22&23 SNOUT (Second color) chain 5 in the 2nd chain from hook sc 3, in last ch, 3sc, on opposite side of chain, sc 2, sc 3 in the last chain (12) row2: SC 12 sew between rows 15-17 top of snout should be between eyes stuff at end then finish sewing closed HORNSx2 (3rd color) slip knot insert hook into the same stitch as ear Chain 1, bobble stitch into same place you inserted your hook into 4bobble stitch then slst into into same stitch and fasten off
Try a bigger hook size or loosening your tension when making the first round! You could also try doing half the stitches into the ring, pull it most of the way closed, then do the rest!
Or instead of using the MC do a slip knot, ch 2, and put the stitches in the 1st ch the one closer to the hook….i do this sometimes using this kind of yarn and works so much easier.
Omg girllll!!! You just made color changes so much easier for me! thank you for this video!! So much seriously. I’ve been struggling hard with that and it’s just smart to make a slip knot to pull it in. I think that’s what I saw?
Would you be able to do another video on a bigger cow tutorial? I absolutely loved this one, but I am afraid of increasing the stitches myself in case I get it wrong, lol. Your crochet works are the best!
My cow turned out so cute, thank you so much for this free and detailed pattern. ❤❤❤❤ Can you please tell us how to make a big cow please, do you just double the pattern?
So glad you like it! Here is my pattern for a big cow! It’s similar but not quite the same as doubling it :) zerogravitycrochet.etsy.com/listing/1562491277
For a small tail, just do a sl st join to the butt and ch a couple of times to the desired length and fasten off and weave the ends through the tail/snip it off. Maybe do a bobble stitch at the end of the tail if you want to make the end bigger, I haven’t tested the bobble yet so idk if it works or not
So basically chain 5 then single crochet into the 2nd chain FROM THE HOOK then single crochet until the end of the chain then single crochet around the whole thing
For some reason, the way you hold your crochet hook is super satisfying 🥰 great free pattern!! Thank youuuu 🙏🏼

Great tutorial! Thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
I just want to know how you get that yarn to pull in a MR because I cannot get it to close 😭 the yarn just breaks 😭😭
Try a bigger hook size or loosening your tension when making the first round! You could also try doing half the stitches into the ring, pull it most of the way closed, then do the rest!

You probably know this by now but it's called an invisible decrease. x
What software do you use to edit your TH-cam and Instagram videos? I love your videos and reels! They are always so professional and well done.

The stitches that you did in the row where the both legs are joined….
Can I do that all along till the arms
Love your tutorial….could you show how to add a tail to this lovely little cow?
For a small tail, just do a sl st join to the butt and ch a couple of times to the desired length and fasten off and weave the ends through the tail/snip it off. Maybe do a bobble stitch at the end of the tail if you want to make the end bigger, I haven’t tested the bobble yet so idk if it works or not
Can someone explain the snout to me in simpler terms. I get the chain 5 but then I'm lost
Ok
So basically chain 5 then single crochet into the 2nd chain FROM THE HOOK then single crochet until the end of the chain then single crochet around the whole thing
@@tszyusuen1353after doing 3 sc from 2nd chain, is she increasing?
@@ikigai5546 no
