115? Wow, let me ask you this, When you turn your car on does your AC blow cool air? I'm in Laredo TX and I suffer with this hot weather and low AC, :\
I have a Ford Taurus and the Freon gauge was on zero not taking into the system until I did the warm water thing that Steven Parker recommended 9 months ago it worked perfect .Ac blows 40 F Thank you.
lol, that's what my problem was. Can was working great 2 days ago, but hooked it up to another vehicle & nothing. Bought a gauge-less hose fill kit at Auto Zone for $5.00 and got my grandsons Blazer charged since he's trying to sell a 4wd vehicle while the temp is in the upper 80's, with no working A/C. I've been down that road before. Lets see if he gets any bites now.... Thx for posting the video....
I work on AC on trains, R22. Just put the freon in some warm water. This will increase the pressure inside the can. The pressure in the system and the can are equalized that is why there is no freon flow.
I also had this problem, what fixed it for me was holding the nozzle and can out in the open (not plugged into the vehicle), and experimenting with different pressures on the nozzle to find which one makes Freon dispense. For me, a quick squeeze to the wide open position wouldn’t let any out. But if I gave it a gentle squeeze to like 1/4 open, it would come out full blast. Then translated that to with it plugged in, and got the car fully recharged.
I have the same problem now and I purchased the Freon 2 times at $45 ea. I hope the 3rd purchase will be the charm. Thank you for this video. Wish me luck!
thanks you helped me solve my ac issue in my dodge truck. after checking almost every possibility while in the back of my head there was always ...hey i don`t think my cans are discharging the 134 into my system. turns out i bought a 14.00 dispenser and everything went well after that. wish i found your video sooner.
What? I was in the sun in a100 degrees weather and the darn can would't budge. The bad part of this is that the employees at ORilley's or AutoZone don't know this. All stores close at 8pm here in Laredo Tx. becasue we are in lock down and curfew is 10pm to 6 am. So tomorrow I will go look for the adapter or a toothpick, Geez,,,,,,, Good thing I got your video, Gracias Amigo
Well, answers my question. I was thinking it was the dispenser. Guess I'll get another one, then! Thanks for making this video to help everyone else out!
LIFE SAVER. On the shelf were mixed old and new...old worked and then all of a sudden I was stumped when my adapter just 'stopped working'....grabbed that adapter part. Boom.
I recently had this same problem. Went to Autozone and they informed me that some of the newer cans of refrigerant have a shutoff valve in the top of the can. If you buy a new can look at the top. If you see a little hole, that’s the shutoff valve. You need to get an adapter to screw on to the can first because the hose won’t puncture that type of can.
If you get the cans with the self sealing retarded thing,it’s not that your old reusable thing is old or used too many times it’s that the needle is not long enough to release the self sealing valve for the refrigerant . Answer stick a tiny piece of a popsicle stick or whatever that you can find in the hole . As you screwing your reusable gun to the Can you will now hear 👂 the refrigerant going through ,your all set just like the old cans . No you won’t mess your a/c or get wood in ac as it will be filtered by your reusable plastic gun refrigerant is a liquid meaning it will go around whatever you stick in there . If I have helped you Thank me .NO extra adapter needed!!!Peace and love
Had this happen today. Truck Reused dispensing unit, no intake of gas. Almost went to shop for 150 diagnostics. Dropped 20 buck on new can and it registered correctly and took Freon. Fixed and cool air for 20 bucks. Those gauges SUCK! Not reusable.

I am having same problem with can not dispensing! I think you have solved my problem!! Thanks!! I thought the needle was not punctuering the can! Thank you so much! I assume you returned the can or hose to the store where you purchased it from.
I think your problem is that the reusable hose is for an A/C PRO resealable can and you attached it to a can requiring a needle to puncture a seal. The two systems are not compatable.
The EPA made the manufacturers put a self-sealing valve on top of the cans. You need to buy an adapter now, in order to use your old style hoses and can tap.

With some issues where freon fails to dispense into ac i discovered while putting in freon those small cans with built in valve in threaded area.( Not the sealed ones that the hose/valve needle actually punctures the can when you turn the valve and will leak out any remaining greon if you try to remove hose ) you turn the valve downward so the needle opens the cans built in valve( like a aerosol can) but after you fully engage the needle into the can, back it off two turns and then the freon can freely flow into the ac . If you do not back it off 2 turns it will block the freon from flowing out into the ac. After you're through putting freon into ac open the hose valve completely upward, then you can remove hose from the can. If any freon is still in can itll stay in and not leak out.
Thanks for your comment. Backing the adapter off the can a lil bit worked for me. Weird. Doesn't even make sense to me why is it designed like this. Design flaw???
I don't do video's so here is the first time your hearing this. Don't use the old lever type piercing hose system with the new self sealing cans. I was able to use the old brass type needle piercing valve with the new R134A self sealing can with no problem. Procedure before attaching the old needle piercing type valve to the new self sealing can take your old piercing type valve and turn counterclockwise to retract the needle all the way to the top. Screw the old type needle piercing valve onto the new type self sealing can. Slowly turn the valve clockwise to bring the needle down until it opens the Shrader valve on the R134A self sealing can. If you torque down the valve needle to far into the self sealing can you can damage the self sealing can. When your finished adding the refrigerant and you still have some refrigerant left in the can, turn the valve counterclockwise to raise the needle up off the Shrader valve and unscrew your old valve assembly off the can. To assure you do not damage the Shrader valve you can file down the needle flat on the old needle piercing valve. Why buy those blue adapters, from what I hear they leak when screwing onto the new self sealing cans.
They actually changed the refrigerant cans themselves. The cans used to have a metal cap that you puncture but now there's already a hole with a shut off valve in it. You will need an adapter. That's the real issue.
Oh, I know your problem. I have one of those hoses too. Several years ago, they changed the refrigerant cans to the self sealing ones, so when you're done with a partial can it doesn't leak all the way out. Wal Mart sells an adapter so you can use the old hose. It's like $4 I think. I bought it and it works, but after the third can or so it's not working anymore. So I'm wondering which hose you have. Do you have the newer ones, and it stopped working, or do you have the old ones with the wrong connector?
Don't throw out the other 2 dispensing tools. I had same problem with "super tech" Walmart brand freon. Seems they've changed the can top to only work with only their brand dispensing apparatus. I had two older unopened cans that filled - charged my ac just fine.
So, if the other two were used, then failed after a few uses, wonder if that one will do the same. I did listen though, and , looked at the can, not punctured, looked at the dispenser, a blunt needle in it. So, my answer was to screw the can down really tight. Also, to be careful not to loosen the other end , which on mine also has threads and needs to be tight. Problem solved, thanks for the hints, wow its cold. Measured, its right around 45 F . Never did make it down to the blue though, I wonder if its time to evacuate the old Freon. Maybe in a couple years when its ready for a recharge. If you watch some of the other AC videos, they talk about needing to go to a company who will capture the Freon and whatever else is in there an send it to china lol.
he's already covered and explained your first concern on the vid man watch it again cos you missed it ..they screw in but not on the pin area and all the replacement cans you buy are prepunctured so the chances of pin damage is zero..and good luck in trying to screw the can down really tight,,i did that and it still didnt work..in fact i screwed it down too tight i couldnt remove it afterwards freon still wouldnt come out of the can ..i tried to slightly pull the dispencer out from the can since i couldnt remove it by unscrewing and could hear the freon escaping a bit with each tug meaning to say the pin did puncture the can but somehow no freon coming out somewhere between the pin and the dispencer hose is whare the prob is..so i said the heck with it and followed his recommendation then only did the freon pumped in...but dont take my word for it waste a few $'s to prove him wrong, you will eventually find out that he is right...those two other dispencers are a piece of junk after only two reuse or so.
The question I have is can you unscrew the reusable dispenser off of the canna Freon if there’s still Freon in the can can anyone help me with that question

I just wonder about this situation and the one I created by not following all the steps the can info advises. 1.- I did not start the car first, AND SO "letting the ac on for at least 10 minutes OR MORE" ...2. I just opened the hood and went straight to open the cover of the L line TO PLUG IN THE CAN. It took me a while to unscrew it ?! and I heard some pressure noise.. which reminded me of another ADVICE "WEAR GLOVES" FREON BURN SKIN ... it is a chemical!! IF IT GOES INTO YOUR EYES ... YOU MAY LOSE YOUR SIGHT?!! 2. I shaked the can a lot BEFORE screwing the end with the PIN!! THAT END did not want the stay IN PLACE!! In my second try .... I paid attention to the NEEDLE OF THE CAN .... IT WAS SHOWING OVER THE 150 PSI !!! My God! I made so many wrong things!! Happily I am still alive!! No wonder it did not want to stay in place !! And .... at the same time that I saw the 150 PSI (FOR SHAKING THE CAN AT THE WRONG TIME?!) the inside PIN (OF THE END OF THE CAN) BROKE and fell to the ground!!.... I hope some OF MY WRONGDOINGS WILL HELP THE REST OF US, DIY..... NOW, WHAT CAN I DO? ... WITH A BROKEN CAN'S PIN WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO DISPENSE THE FREON TO THE LOW LINE? WILL AUTOZONE GIVE ME A CAN REPLACEMENT? HAVE A GREAT DAY. LATER ON, AT NIGHT, I WILL GO TO FIND THAT PIECE FROM UNDER MY CAR....
I changed out my manifold hose assembly on my 2003 Ford Escape . I turned on the car , turned the ac to full blast cold and tricked the compressor to turn on by using a paper clip where the fuse would go that way the compressor can stay on. At this point I tried to charge the line but nothing happens. The gage doesn’t move. None of the coolant wants to come out of the can and enter the system ??? Any ideas ???

Sometimes it's the pressure switch not allowing freon into the compressor
That's a different issue; an issue where the system will not able the AC clutch engagement.
I got the same problem too. So, you would suggest that I will need to get a new adapter for the freon can?

Nothing is wrong with the needles, the new cans have a vale in them.
