Looks awesome!! I was wondering why the prop / motor is attached in the upper third of the foil mast? That makes foiling without a wave way harder as you can only foil 10 to 15cm high?
Hey Daniel, This is a paddle assistance kit to help people catch waves or get the board up and out of the water. Its not designed to be a flat water e-foil.
@@dgraffe It really depends what your main purpose for the product is. If your happy to have the motor a bit lower down and therefor have to ride a little higher when on a wave to keep the motor out of the water then thats totally fine! With a slightly longer cable length you can push the motor further down the mast and closer to the wing.
@@dgraffe For the ultimate drag free foiling experience its best if the motor od is out of the water. however due to its very streamlined design and folding props, the drag is still very minimal with the pod in the water under wave power. Its not like the pod dipping in and out of the water makes a massive noticable difference.
Hey Phillip, The idea is that you use the motor to get the speed up to catch the wave but then it comes out of the water when your free foiling the wave so there is no drag caused by the motor.
so that when you are up on foil surfing a wave or a swell, the motor does not cause any drag. The motor is only used to get up to speed to catch the swell.
We are finding guys are getting a 1-2hr surf session out of a single charge. It is not designed to be a flat water foiling kit. If you hold the throttle flat out the whole time, you will get about 20mins out of the battery.
Hey Geoffrey, As explained in our ongoing email conversation, we are more than willing to support the product 100% and we are working with you to determine the cause of the issue so we can send you the correct replacement parts under warranty. You will be back in the water enjoying your gear as soon as practically possible. Ben
I really enjoy the idea of your product, but was incredibly disappointed when I saw the pricing.. $3,400 is robbery mannnn.. I would hate to say what I priced this out for DIY - albeit I have the skills replicate.. I get the recoup costs of printing / "R&D" but you could have upped your production and sent these out to the masses at a nice profit for $2200.. Still wishing you good luck as it's a cool product..
Ready to buy. When will it ship to consumers?

@@foildrive got that... I thought that foiling out in the line up is also part of the product design :)...

@@foildrive ah ok got it... I did not understand that the prop needs to be out of the water to foil the wave... thanks for making that clear to me.

Motor looked a bit to hi . Do you need a motor with the wave ! .

Why do you mount the motor at a high rather than a low position on the mast?
so that when you are up on foil surfing a wave or a swell, the motor does not cause any drag. The motor is only used to get up to speed to catch the swell.
